The Ghost Adventures crew heads to Kell’s Irish Pub.
Episode Description:
In Seattle in the early 1900s death was a good business. Mining accidents, disease, and murder made it very profitable to run a morgue. E.R. Butterworth opened Seattle’s first morgue in the midst of an outbreak of a deadly disease. At the time, there were so many deaths the City of Seattle payed citizens for each body that was brought to the morgue. Since the payment was about half a year’s salary for many, it became an incentive for murder.Today, Kell’s Irish Pub occupies what used to be the morgue. The unrested souls that passed through the walls continue to have an effect on the building today. Figures walk the halls, glasses move on their own, and voices echo throughout the building.
Every year there seems to be a build-up of paranormal activity as we move closer to the anniversary of Seattle’s spanish influenza outbreak in 1918. Due to the number of deaths it was mandatory for everyone to wear surgical masks in public. Thousands of bodies passed through the mortuary as a result of disease, accidents, and foul play, but E.R. Butterworth didn’t care if the bodies were there as a result of murder. Zak, Nick, and Aaron believe the souls of those who died for unjust reasons remain trapped in Kell’s Irish Pub.
We here at Spectral Review just got the chance to watch last nights Ghost Lab “Eternal Home” episode and we have to say it is paranormal TV at it’s very best.

The team visited The Shanley Hotel in New York State and The Poet’s Loft in Arkansas. Both locations had intelligent hauntings and the team captured several EVP that were clear as a bell.
It just doesn’t get better than this episode. Great work!!
The guys get gold fever when they check out the old Vulture Mine in Arizona.
Episode Description:
The Vulture Mine in Arizona sits in complete isolation 70 miles from Phoenix. The gold discovered there was responsible for much of Arizona’s development. The mine was discovered in 1863, and by the 1880s there were more than 5,000 residents drawn to the town by opportunity and greed.
Corruption was rampant in the town. If you showed any threat to the mine or the gold stores you would be hung without a trial. Many people were buried where they died without ever having a marked grave. The U.S. government sent in troops to protect the town, but even the soldiers were greedy and corrupt.
Unfortunately, it seems the spirits at Vulture Mine wanted Zak, Nick, and Aaron gone before they could arrive. A huge storm hit Arizona before the lockdown could begin forcing the guys to head back to town and wait the storm out. However, the setback did nothing but fuel the GA crew’s desire to find out what lurks in the old mining town.
Last night on Paranormal State in the episode “Spirits of the Slave Dungeon” they highlighted an old jail in South Carolina.
Here is their description:
Ryan books a two-night case in a real haunted jail in Charleston, SC, but PRS soon realizes the spirits themselves are being held there against their will and subjected to an unjust form of torture. PRS goes on a “ghost tour” and immediately something doesn’t feel right. Someone or something is being exploited and it’s not the public paying admission for the guide-led tour. PRS must find a way to heal the long lasting wounds of social injustice that still linger amongst the spirits of slaves.
This ghost hunting phenomenon is quite the lucrative business these days. People like Ryan Buell have been cashing in for years now. There is absolutely nothing wrong with people seeing a market like the publics interest in the paranormal and then filling it in with some product that can make them some money. Individuals and corporations including Ryan, NBC Universal and the Discovery Networks have done exactly this.
The problem we have with this particular episode is Ryan took the owner of this jail to task for exploiting the spirits of the people who suffered at the location many many years ago. But isn’t this exploitation exactly what he does EVERY episode? Certainly if you buy the idea that these spirits exist in these haunted locations, Ryan has been profiting from their stories for years.
Not only has Paranormal State been doing this sort of thing with spirits, one could question their judgement on some of the troubled people they have had in past episodes. Yes these people agreed to have their story told but it doesn’t mean that Paranormal State should air them.
Just about three hours to go and the second season of Ghost Lab begins. We here are Spectral Review look forward to this paranormal show more than any other.
Here is tonight’s synopsis:
The team investigates the Gettysburg, Pa. battleground where it reaches out to the only civilian killed during battle.
Obviously they must be visiting the Jenny Wade home as she was the only civilian casualty those terrible three days in July of 1863.
We hope they show in this episode the original video Brad had shot back in the ’90s when he had visited the battle field with his family. We here at Spectral Review have seen the video and just the idea that what you see are a group of soldiers who are not reenactors is mind boggling.
The guys head to Hillview Manor in Pennsylvania to do their next investigation. We don’t remember any other TV people who have visited the site, looking forward to see what happens.
Episode Description:
Hillview Manor in New Castle, Pennsylvania was built to house the poor who could not care for themselves. It was later turned into a retirement home and became the place where thousands carried out the final days of their lives. The building has a longstanding problem with suicides and behind the building there are countless numbers of un-marked graves containing the bones of those who perished in the manor. The boy’s investigation results in a number of spine chilling EVPs containing intelligent responses to their questions. One spirit tells Zak his name through an EVP saying, “I’m Jim.” Later on Jim speaks again when Nick asks what color pants he is wearing by responding, “blue.”
The Hillview Manor investigation proves to be one of the most emotional episodes yet. The spirits inside the building call out for help, and ask for their voices to be heard. Luckily Zak, Nick, and Aaron were able to give these spirits a chance to speak if only for a brief moment.
We like it here at Spectral Review when folks from our home town get to do some ghost hunting.
Like many Northeastern cities, Utica New York was once a prosperous area with many manufacturing businesses. However the last sixty years these businesses have been driven out and jobs sent overseas. What was once the most affluent street in the city now has become blight. Local people have tried to save these local mansions and as of today a few remain standing in Utica.
The Ghost Seekers of Central New York had the opportunity to investigate two of these mansions and on October 16, 2010 will give a tour of the properties and reveal what they may have captured with their equipment.
The mansions are located on Rutger Street in the city of Utica.
The following is a report from local Utica media.

The guys head to Colorado to visit the Stanley Hotel.
Stanley Hotel
This investigation brings Zak, Nick, and Aaron to Estes Park, Colorado to investigate one of the most famously haunted hotels in the United States. The hotel has inspired dozens of notable guests to visit the small town at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park. Steven King was inspired to write his famous novel, The Shining, after experiencing some paranormal events during a stay at the hotel. The Stanley Hotel is built upon a giant bed of quartz and limestone, which are said to be good conductors of paranormal energy. There is also a lake you must drive over on the way into town. Paranormal believers think these things help to trap the spiritual energy in Estes Park. The guys chose to stay at some of the most famously haunted rooms in the building.
Zak has personally dedicated this episode to paranormal skeptics, in honor of scientist and skeptic Bill Chapel, who joined the team toward the latter part of the investigation. Bill used a specially designed thermal and electromagnetic device to track where the changes in these levels around the room. Between Zak’s investigating and the results documented simultaneously by Bill, you will be very impressed by the evidence they capture!
