I’ve been wondering with this Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike going on, when will we start to run out of new episodes of shows. There has to be some amount of finished episodes just waiting for our eyeballs that the networks must have but at some point these are going to run out.

And the longer the strike lasts, the longer it’s going to be before shows will start to return. Maybe it’s a good thing that cable repeats a lot of shows!

So what are the prospects for this strike ending soon? Well not too good according to Broadcasting & Cable. There is speculation of how many shows are “in the can” that we can expect to see before it’s just reruns. But that’s what it is…speculation. It really cannot be said for sure but a blogger over at TV Guide says he has the info. He mentions:

Medium: Nine episodes will be produced. None have aired yet, so there are nine episodes left.

Pushing Daisies: Nine episodes will be produced. Five episodes have aired, so there are four left.

Reaper: Ten to 12 episodes will be produced. Seven episodes have aired, so there are three to five left.

Supernatural: Ten to 12 episodes will be produced. Six episodes have aired, so there are four to six left.

• If your favorite show isn’t included above, don’t panic — it’s not because I hate you. It’s because I’m still trying to track down the info. As soon as I get it, I’ll add it to the list.

As the blogger mentions at the end, so far no speculation on Ghost Whisperer, Moonlight or Phenomenon.
