Moonlight’s Vampire Mick Will Have a Second Season
Another Update: As mentioned in the comments, a couple of sites that continue the struggle to keep Moonlight going are MoonlightLine.com and MoonlightArmy.com
Thanks Megan and Melinda.
Update: Want to help to have Moonlight return?
When the boss says you are in for more then you can bank on it.
Les Moonves the CBS Corporation President & CEO said Friday nights Moonlight show about a vampire/private detective will be coming back next fall for a second season.
Speaking at the 35th annual UBS Global Media & Communications Conference in New York yesterday he said that the show would be back. So if the boss likes the show, the rest of us that like it catch a break and don’t have to fret over the ratings.
The show takes this Friday off but returns on December 14th after Ghost Whisperer. We’ve watched every episode so far and I must say it is well done. Luckily this show is not on CW or else Sam and Dean from Supernatural might be stopping by LA for a visit!

What happened to Moonlight? Was it cancelled?
February 29th, 2008 at 11:21 pm
I’m fairly certain Moonlight will return for a second season. In April they will be airing an additional four episodes they are currently filming now.
There is uncertainty about the series because there have been “creative” differences by the people who run the show, even before the first episode even aired.
However if those problems can be solved, the show has a great chance to return. Clearly it had strong ratings even for Friday night which is a less viewed evening of TV. If the next four episodes do as well in the ratings as in the fall, I think you will see it back. IMHO.
March 13th, 2008 at 4:13 pm
What happened with the new season of Moonlight? It is a very interesting serie, the besto of the best.
March 16th, 2008 at 1:07 am
I think the writer’s strike played a large part in Moonlight’s stall time. With the creative differences, and that as well, postponed production (IMO). I’m glad the strike has been resolved and look forward to a new season.
March 16th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Yes I agree the strike is the culprit here. Established shows had more episodes “in the can”, while the new shows were less aggressively created.
I still say that this show will be back next fall. It’s just a formality because it WILL do well when these new episodes air and over the fall it’s ratings were very good for Friday night. Much better than what CBS had there last year. Friday night is the toughest TV ratings night because people do other things than stay home.

I have been fighting for Moonligt on several polls, sites, HeyNielsen, Buddy TV TV.com, Peoples Choice Awards and any other forum I can find to get Moonlight back on television.
Please bring back our Moonlight.
September 2nd, 2008 at 6:45 pm
I loved moonlight. This was one of my favorite shows. Please bring it back.
September 16th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Please bring back Moonlight I can’t believe there thinking of canceling it. Exactly what’s going on?
September 16th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
The show is dead, dead, dead.
CBS has signed Alex O’Loughlin to a development deal so expect to see him in something in the future.
It’s too bad because it was a good show.
September 17th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
The fans of Moonlight are still fighting for the return of Moonlight. You can go to Hey Nielsen.com and make commets for Moonlight and all the stars to help.
Alex is under a talent contract, I can’t expalin is as good as the MML forum can. We are hoping for a movie contract and then a return of Moonlight or if the powers that be get pounded enough we’ll get our Moonlight sooner. There is also a list of people and places to write to on MML.
MOONLIGHT FOREVER!!!!!!!!!
November 30th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
I hope there’s a chance for us, the moonlight fans.
i just loved it.
Oh please let everybody help us to get Moonlight back!..
I’m still hoping, are there any news?
January 26th, 2009 at 2:28 pm
Moonlight might not get a second season, but it will always be #1 with me.
I’m still fighting for a second season. It’s been done before after a long period of silence. It has to come back to answers some of those questions left to us in the last four episodes.
January 30th, 2009 at 7:26 pm
Please please give us more moonligt
January 31st, 2009 at 1:09 am
im sitting here watching the first season on tv…im soooooo ready for the second season!
January 31st, 2009 at 12:22 pm
I’m still fighting for a second season. My motto is Never Give Up Never Surrender and I’ll Keep Fighting the Good Fight Until Moonlight is Back for a Second Season. I’m still writing letters to TPTB’s so I’m still hoping.
Alex O’Loughlin hasn’t been in anything since Moonlight was cancelled, nor has there been any new upcoming series that he will be starring in. Nina Tassler intimates that he will be seen soon. Lets’ hope so.
February 2nd, 2009 at 2:52 am
Nice to see some new comments here. There are so many of us still fighting for our Moonlight and the return of Moonlight to television. There are thousands of us that are watching Moonlight, (over 1.2 million the first week), on SciFi Friday’s at 9 PM, same time different station, but that surely doesn’t matter
Then we all bought the DVD’s that just came out and the stores can’t keep them on the shelves!!! Now that is really something. Alex will be back soon, we can only pray it will be with his beloved Beth and Josef with all the gang to continue our great show!!
February 2nd, 2009 at 2:42 pm
I unfortunately can’t get SciFi in Canada. Since I received my DVD Jan. 21st I haven’t stopped watching Moonlight. The whole premise of the show was wonderful. I find myself quoting things that have been said on the show. Okay, okay, I know I’m getting weird in my old age, but I love this show, I love Alex.
I know I haven’t mentioned this, but I’m going to London, England In June to………meet Alex O’Loughlin at the Moonlight, Angel and Veronica Mars Convention. There will be other guests such as Keith Szarabajka, he played Daniel Holtz, in Angel. So far Alex and Keith are the only guests named that are attending this convention. It’s also my birthday that weekend so what a gift that will be especially if I get to speak with Alex. Anyway, I just thought I’d let you all know.
Cheers.
February 3rd, 2009 at 10:35 pm
Audrey, that’s wonderful, how exciting. Is it very expensive to go?? I envy you
February 3rd, 2009 at 10:40 pm
Hey Melinda, luckily I will be staying with a friend and I have airmiles, so the only cost is the show which is 77 pounds sterling and the hotel for two nights is about 154 pounds sterling, but that will be split with my friend. I guess food would be on top of that. I am so looking forward to going.
Where are you located?
Cheers
February 6th, 2009 at 5:06 pm
I would love to go to that London covention but was also advised by Alex’s US Personal Manager’s office that if Alex is working that he will not be at that event… Not trying to burst the bubble here, just letting all know before monies are spent needlessly and none can afford that in today’s economy…
I do not trust that contract with CBS and Alex…I feel it is a ploy to keep Alex in limbo and away from the public eye…Nina has a chip, more like a log, on her shoulder for all Moonlight fans and, feeling ML fans were Actor-centric, as she announced, she felt a “Holding Contract” would keep him out of sight, out of mind…How evil can one woman get? She needs the pycho padded cell.. She is actor/fan-phobic…
Yes he has a new blog, just posted yesterday, on his MySpace page that he has been in AU for a couple of months…This sounds like the reason I was also told by Alex’s personal manager’s office that Alex would not be picking up his mail, including the Xmas gifts everyone (including me) to him, until January or so…They could not confirm when I asked about him being home in AU for the Holidays, but if one recalls Alex & Holly went back for a shortened holiday in 2007(when ML was on the air) around Xmas…It is also summer in AU now, so what a lovely time to go there… However, Alex is under contract and is busy finding the right project, not like Nina a few weeks back instigated “may be in a NCIS spinoff, so why would he be spending such a length of time in AU if there was going to be any project hopefully being considered in near future??? Seems strange to me, if there were any hope if Alex was to be on our TVs before this contract runs out…
My wishes are that it does run out before then and that his new current booking agents in AU get him into something that is really worth his talent…He is so above in talent than anything CBS can offer him…Moonlight was a perfect venue for him as it was able to show his many faces of talent…Want to see another venue that does same, Buy or Rent Alex’s movie FEED, now there is a complex of Alex’s talent abilities…
If CBS’s claws were out of the picture, then maybe we would stand the chance to bring back the Moonlight and Alex,Sophia, et al to reprise their roles again on TV but a different network…And, oh, yes, a movie, definitely, which would be hot now with the wake of Twilight and its resurging sequels coming up later in the year…
February 9th, 2009 at 12:54 am
Hi Audrey, wern’t you in a Moonlight epesode??

I’ve never been abroad, I live in Central Florida and have been in FL since 1959, my parents dragged me, so you can see I’m not in my 20’s
I was a MLL from last May until it shut down now I mainly post at Moonlightdreams. There is a lot of activity there. I did love Alex’s new blog posting.
Trish, I’ve got to give it to you girl you hit the nail on the head about ol’ CBS and NT. I originally bought Moonlight from Amazon when they first released it for the computer last summer and ran it to death, so was extatic when my 4 DVD’s came from there two weeks ago and I’m burning them up too.
I DO watch Moonlight on SciFi every Friday night to see them on a network and help build up ratings there as well as the DVD sales hoping for that movie and seasons more of Moonlight on TV.
February 9th, 2009 at 11:16 am
Hi Melinda, it wasn’t me. I live in Mississauga, which is just outside of Toronto in Canada and have never been in anything. I’m just a big fan of Moonlight. I’m also not in my 20’s.
February 9th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
Hi Audrey, I’ve been on Moonlightdreams for a couple of hours and you would be supprised how many Moonlight fans are NOT in their 20’s anymore, or even 30’s or 40’s. We all come from so many different states with such different backgrounds it’s really unique that we all love Moonlight so very much. One of the ladies I’ve been chating with tonight is retired from government work and is teaching now and is nuts about Moonlight. We have known each other since last May originally from MML before it’s death.
Have a good evening, aways nice chating with Moonlight friends.
February 11th, 2009 at 1:06 am
Hi Everyone,
I just google moonlightdreams and came up with an Alex O’Loughlin Blog on SCI-Fi.com… Am quite upset at this moment since I came upon posts I made over at Alex O’Loughline Online ,which is not the main reason I am upset… Let me further say that anything I posted on AOLO I do not regret…over there I am originally listed as Pat & later on as Patricia Schau… However, what is perturbing me is the fact that, whomever Night Angel or Mick’s baby are, my own personal yahoo emails to a friend, and fellow Moonlight Sister, have been hacked into by either that Angel or baby…
Night Angel and Mick’s baby, do you realize that hacking personal e-mails is a criminal act that can get you put in prison???? You have gone beyond to ruin any good true loyal Moonlight & Alex fans try to bring about…
February 11th, 2009 at 2:59 am
Hi, i’m sorry to read your e-mail got hacked into. Do you know if Moonlight is comping back? I was told by my mother and neice who are fans of the show like I am, that they both saw that Moonlight is suppose to be coming back on friday. Do you know if that is true or not.
February 11th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
Kalimah Hi,
The Moonlight shows that you are talking about are indeed on Fridays and are on the SCI-FI channel at 9PM, not sure if that is for all time zones here in the US or just for the eastern part of US… However, since these are coming from the SCI-FI network and are actually the reruns of our original Moonlight series of 16 episodes, I would asy it televises nationally throughout America at the 9PM time for broadcast…
But do watch the reruns of Moonlight, even if you have bought the 4 disc DVD set of the First Season of Moonlight… Watching the reruns does encourage the ratings to rise and this may help all loyal Moonlight fans to get the Second season of Moonlight in NEW episodes we all want so badly, and hopefully many more seasons after that…
Hope I was of help in answering your question…
February 11th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
Thanks for answering this Tish, Kalimah is a great fan of Moonlight and so are her mother and niece.
Kalimah, be sure and ask your mother and neice to watch Moonlight too on Sci Fi on Friday at 9 PM.
February 12th, 2009 at 12:08 am
Your welcome, Melinda…
BTW, did you note my post pertaining to the hacking of my personal mail and it was posted on moonlightdreams? This has me definitely upset… I am wondering if either of those so called fans realize how serious of an offense they perpetrated…And I wonder if perhaps they are one in the same who gave me flack on AOLO; there calling themselves by other user names… Why I say this is because of the threat posted upon the site and the fact these trouble makers sent such postings on AOLO to other sources….
It is for reasons such as this, the cut-throat nosers, that our Moonlight campaign failed… backstabbing became a full time sport at some of the ML sites and why I dropped from some of them entirely…
However, I still believe that somewhere along the way that Moonlight can and should be ressurected with its fabulous cast of actors… First a movie of total recall & answering some of our curious need-to-knows of the storyline from the First Season & then perhaps a sequel shedding some hope for a TV comeback…
And, I believe in Alex’s ability to Wow his audiences for many years to come, probably long past my lifetime (I am a senior fan past 60)… I believe Alex has more quality acting to deliver than he can be allowed to bring forth on CBS…
February 12th, 2009 at 12:33 am
Hi Tish, I’ll be 60 next month
There are a LOT of us seasoned Moonlight supporters around.
No, there wasn’t anything on moonlightdreams about email hacking, I’m sorry it happened to you. Some people just have nothing better to do, their lives must be pretty boaring
The Peoples Choice Buzz Polls have some Moonlight things to vote on if you like voting, I just saw them a few minutes ago and added my votes. Some kind person put some Moonlight polls on there to vote on.
There was one there too that said Alex would be in an April episode of “Criminal Minds” so I had to pass that on to you.
February 16th, 2009 at 7:35 am
I LOVED moonlight and I really would love to see a second season. PLEASE PLEASE. It is a fantastic show with twists and turns in season one I was gripped from week to week wanting to know what happens next!!!
February 18th, 2009 at 9:37 am
Hi Kathryn, It’s always great to see more Moonlight fans on any site. There are still several sites up and running to try and get more Moonlight.
Have you purchased the new DVD of all the Moonlight show (16) ?? Amazon.com has it for a good sale price. All of us at moonlightdreams and other sites have purchased at least one and many of us have purchased several and given them out, bringing new friends to Moonlight.

Hi Claudia, great to know our Moonlight is in Chile. WOW !!
There is a web site Moonlightdreams that has a lot of stuff about Moonlight and Alex that you would love.
Thanks for the comet and stay loving our show.
March 19th, 2009 at 5:43 am
I am so happy to hear Moonlight will be back all I’m wondering is when?????
March 20th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
Kathryn Atkinson, Hi,
I am sorry to be the one to burst your bubble about Moonlight coming back…Yes, the DVD set of the one and only season is on sale (try Amazon.com) for your viewing pleasure again and again and again, but the actuall televised show had been cancelled since April of last year, 2008, with the last episode being called Sonata…If you haven’t yet seen it, I am hear to tell you that the Moonlight writers, bless them, gave us a storyline that is embedded in our minds forever…a bit of all we wanted…However, I, like millions, still do, to this day, crave for more…
Our one hope, maybe, if TPTB stop playing high and mighty with us and our favorite cast of actors (actually, for most of us, only since they performed in Moonlight so believably to make each character take on a “life” of its own) is that one day we will. at least, be granted a Moonlight Saga of movie sequels for theaters with our cast who played on TV…
In the meantime, Alex O’Loughlin (aka, Mick St John) fans, mark your calenders at April 29th, 9PM, EDT (check you local listings for the time equivalent to this), to watch Criminal Minds, CBS, for an episode called “Big Wheel” which will guest star Alex as a serial killer…If any of you have ever seen Alex’s movie, FEED, which he co-produced in AU,you will especially like this killer charcter since he can play a brilliant psycho…
Also, word has come down that a pilot is now being fimed in Pittsburgh, PA called “Three Rivers” which hopefully will be accepted into becoming a weekly, hour long series on CBS… And none other than Alex will star as the head doctor of a transplant team of surgeons, Dr Andy Yablonski, who is separated from his wife and is living in a motel nearby to the medical facility he works at… Now, of course, this will have to pass muster through TPTB, so let us only hope they can be lenient… Alex has been away from TV cameras and his fans for too long, almost a year, so maybe we will get lucky again to enjoy the fine talents of this young actor; he will go far even without CBS, in my opinion… And we all miss seeing some televised chemistry between Alex and a leading lady, but none can compare to the chemistry between Alex and Sophia Myles on Moonlight, as far as I am concerned…
April 12th, 2009 at 3:24 pm
So it’s never coming back, even if a petition and stuff was made? Gone forever?
April 12th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
I still haven’t given up on Moonlight. IMPO I think there might be a movie, but probably not for awhile, and if the cast is available, who knows anything is possible. TPTB had a good thing going with Moonlight, too bad they didn’t see that at the time. Miss Tassler thought we were all actorcentric and it was only because of Alex O’Loughlin we were watching, hey come on, there were others in the cast that were part of the whole picture. Even though Alex was the main character and I totally adore him, if it wasn’t for Jason, Sophia, Shannyn, Jacob, Brian, David, Jordan and Eric there wouldn’t have been much of a storyline. So keep on hoping and maybe someday we will get our wish…a Moonlight Movie.
April 12th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
I also forgot to mention the movie The Back-Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez that he is in negotiations with. Let’s hope that’s a go. I would love to see Alex back on the big screen. I am also looking forward to April 29th, I have it already to record. Then there’s the new series Three Rivers, let’s hope it gets picked up, because little or big screen, we need to see Alex again, it’s been so very long.
I had dinner with some friends last evening and one lady’s was new and I asked her where she was from and she said Trois Riviers, Quebec. Now isn’t that a lucky sign, some one I didn’t know and she says Three Rivers, that just blew me away.
April 12th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Audrey,
You are a breath of fresh air in your explanation of why we all loved Moonlight… Thank you for never giving up, neither will I…
Yes, we are all looking forward to Alex’s guest shot in Criminal Minds on the 29th and I can imagine that it will blow the roof off the ratings for that hour… This, however, will again lead to Nina coming out and saying she was correct we Moonlight fans were and are all actor-centric as she had proclaimed… I just wish he weren’t appearing, for the 1st time in a long time, on CBS, this leaves us all open for ridicule by Tassler… She has not the brain to give us credit for knowing a good actor when we see one; she seems to think that we are all swooning teeny boppers and teens that scream all of the time when they see a favorite star…Sorry kids, it is the truth, way back when I was a teenager, I did it, my kids did it and my grandchildren do it; it’s normal and doesn’t mean that you are abnormal, just that emotionally, you are more exhuberant…
And, yes, that, indeed, sounded like a favorable sign of the lady coming from Trois Riviers, Quebec… And again, I so wish that this pilot would be picked up just not by CBS; perhaps there is some bidding war or something, hopefully, and another network like ABC, who seems to keep their shows in long running, will get Alex’s Three Rivers…Perhaps I dream the impossible…
I, myself, as quite a few have done, have boycotted CBS since the last show, Sonata, of the Moonlight series… On the 29th of April, it, will be the 1st time in a year since my TV set will be dialed into CBS and that is to, at long last, see Alex as a fine actor that he is… As a matter of fact, playing a serial killer is right up the man’s alley and if you have seen his AU movie that he co-produced in 2004-5, FEED, then you are all aware of what I am referring to…
As for Alex coming to the big screen in a romantic comedy, The Back-up Plan, that, also, is another form of acting in which the man shines…However, I do not know how the movie, itself, will shine with J-Lo in the female lead…definitely with another actress it might be a hit, say like with Jennifer Aniston or Kate Hudson…
April 23rd, 2009 at 7:06 pm
I love MOONLIGHT!!!! God its even better than the whole Twilight thing going on!!! Please return MoonLight for a second season I have been soooo looking forward to it ever since i bought the first season. Please save MoonLight!!!!!
April 26th, 2009 at 3:18 am
It just irks me to have to be the bearer of bad tidings Lauren T, but the DVD is all we are getting of Moonlight…First season, no 2nd…
Now we can change some of this sad news to become something positive for Moonlight fans…we can strive ahead with Moonlight plans in the future, only not on TV weekly… So what am I talking about? A Movie, a Moonlight movie or sequels of several Moonlight movies over a period of time to either be seen on the big screen to more adult viewers that came to Twilight for solace when Moonlight was cancelled last year… Or if it is in several long, , 2 hr each, movie forms, then possibly it can go straight to DVD…And that would not be bad at all, then we can watch the whole Moonlight saga from beginning (the 1st season DVDs) to the end (something we hardly were given even with the very emotional last episode, Sonata), which would complete the storyline (in several sequel movies) of what happens after the Sonata door closed and so forth, like what will the DA do with that list of vampires?… Now that would be one heck of a collector’s item because no other group of viewers ever fought so hard for a show as Moonlight fans have and still can do…
HOW? By writing via snailmail (regular PO) to other Powers That Be, like Joel Silver who thought of the ML series as his baby… Write to other producers as well, if Joel chooses to not reply to requests, afterall, this is Tinseltown, and someone out there will definitely know a hit in the horizon…
Joel Silver has his production company at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, CA…
How do we keep campaigning for this
April 27th, 2009 at 3:40 pm
Moonlight Season 1 is phenominal it is the number 1 best show that I have watched over my 18 years of age. I love the romance and the action that the episodes have. the chemistry between a vampire and human gets stronger everytime they meet. keeps you guessing. keeping your fans guessing is sometimes bad because of what CBS did to all of the Moonlight Fans. the end of the first season the door closes well what happens? am I right? alot of people were probably asking that at the end of the episode. and then thats IT NO MORE EPISODES well what happens to these two characters does Mick turn her into a vampire which he should so they can stay together for ever. but CBS needed to show more. I mean if you are going to end a season right then and there make the ending good so the fans knows what the ending is. if they lived happily ever after? or did something happen to Beth that is what I am talking about CBS needed to put closure on the last episode if they werent going to put anymore seasons after that.
PUT MOONLIGHT BACK ON!!!!!
April 29th, 2009 at 10:03 am
I was so excited when I bought the first series of Moonlight thinking there was more series after that one. When I realized that was it I was so desappointed. The last episode was very emotional and romantic but what happens after they kissed and closed the door. I think we deserve more than that afer waiting all that time for him to realize that he was not going to let her go. If you guys were thinking on not having any more series the least you could have done was to give it a better ending, maybe show a little bit more of what happened with their relationship, with the list of vampires, etc. Please, there still time for a second one. Mick and Beth were great! We want them back!
June 9th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
Come Moonlight fans over to visit Alex O’Loughlin Online & check out the thread I began to anew faith there will be a Moonlight movie. Feel free to make comments…and take note of the people to write to via registered/return receipt snailmail; I posted the needed addresses to begin this New Moonlight Movie Crusade…
Why am I beginning this movement? One I was given permission to write the dedication page over at AOLO that is called “Show We Still Believe in Vampires & Moonlight”…the respense has been great & yet still on other threads at the AOLO site other fans are still commenting about their love of Moonlight and wanting completion to the way all was left unanswered… And what motivated me to “sink my teeth” (pun intended) into this new movement was the interview Alex O’Loughlin (Mick St John) gave to the Boston Herald just a month or so ago and he did let it be known that Joe; Silver had approached him about making a Moonlight movie & Alex agreed; Joel I was told also contacted Jason Dohring (Josef) about same… But that was in December, 2008, & now, since Joel already has it in his mind, we are asking Joel Silver to get it on celluloid (film)…
It is a start, folks, and a ML movie may even present itself even bigger than Twilight & that is going some, but our TV cast (which is what we are also requesting to star in said ML movie; read the article and it will explain how we are also contacting the booking agents of all the TV cast) of characters can definitely, in a more mature love story, can carry this out without a doubt in my mind…
So see you over at AOLO & welcome to visit anytime…

It seems that many of us feel we are missing the completion to Moonlight. We feel that the storylines have been left hanging in the air & not been allowed to leap like Mick off a tall structure, but hanging on threads. However, as with any thread, it is a tie into something & so I place this thread here at AOLO so we can all voice our feelings, our despair over losing a great vampire show which was truly unique and shed a different light on the folklore surrounding the vampire legends & show our support towards a Moonlight movie in the future, hopefully the near future….
We all fell in love with the characters we met in Moonlight all brought to life by some pretty wonderful young actors: Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring, Shannon Sossaman, but most of all the multi-talented young Aussie named Alex O’Loughlin… Alex, for most of us in the US, was new to our eyes, but definitely appealing, yet it was his talent that made us become devoted to him as an actor & fall in love with Mick St John. That love was cut too short by the swift destructive fires of CBS when it cancelled this favorite show even after it won a People’s Choice Best New Drama Award…
Moonlight was about vampirism and human love; an age old myth but so sort after, such a story needs no time is right to be shown. We miss our weekly dose of Mick/Beth love, Jason/Mick banter, Coraline/Mick/Beth triangle…And many would like to find a happy ending to the Mick/Beth love but shown on the Big screen in a Moonlight movie, possibly with a little more sensuality than allowed on TV. And dare not we forget that list of vampires sent to the DA on the last episode, Sonata! One can only fear what it implies, one can only hope, that our Moonlight vampires do survive… But what will become of Beth, will Mick turn her, will they marry? So many, many questions, that I have not room to list…
As we all read recently, Joel Silver had approached Alex about such a movie in December of 2008; I am certain Mr Silver just did not forget about it. As you recall another vampire/human love story of a younger age group hit the silver screen by storm in November, 2008, but at that time no timeline of when the sequels to that November movie, that was from a long saga of novels, would be filmed, so Silver must have thought the time was right then… Now he may be waiting for the hoopla over that set of films to die down & then give us a real mature vampire/human love story on the big screen. But I still feel that Silver is keeping the idea on the burner and has not forgotten about it…. After all it was originally Silver’s baby & a movie version of Moonlight’s stories can sizzle more than allowed on TV…
I want to say that Alex loved Moonlight &, yes, it hurt him that it was cancelled, too… Can you imagine how he must have felt? Like a failure is my guess… To an actor having a show cancelled is like slapping them & saying “You stunk; your acting, your makeup, your style…” And though Alex said we must let go of Moonlight, I feel, as many do, that he would welcome the chance to breathe life in Mick St John again if only one more time to show CBS & the world his Moonlight is worth it & bring the world a more scintillating Mick on the movie screen …
Please give your support… A Moonlight movie will not just appear if we don’t support it or tell TPTB that we still believe in vampires, especially Mick St John, & Moonlight… We must get the show on the road and ask, plead, brush egos, beg if need be, to get this to become a reality & not just postings on a fansite… Snail mail (via Post Office) is the answer & sending the letters as certified/registered so it has to be signed for & thus noted it arrived… emails are not the thing; can be deleted and never read…
Oh, a note, we may also want to write to the booking agents for the lead actors of TV’s Moonlight to let them know this campaign is on , why & what we so want & to make their clients available for filming the movie…. It may sound like harsh measures, but any agent knows his pay depends upon what sells the public….
And please, I implore you, no matter how much we love Alex, please do not sound like you are “swooning” over him but make certain that you do imply that a Moonlight movie would not be the same without him… The more business like we sound, I think the more we will be noticed, respected, & listened to….
The following is a list of addresses to write to to seek our Moonlight movie… We can send to Nina Tassler and Mark Gordon, but I think it is best for Joel Silver to hold that power…

Silly men cancelled Moonlight !!! I can’t believe this. I ‘d do anything to motive CBS start shooting 2nd 3rd and…so on seasons of my best show ever watched during my entire life…Please I am not exaggrating. I will beg any person who has a power on executives to give a restart for Moonlight.
I am writing form Turkey…I watch every show for 25 years, I am 35. Every friend of mine is in love with the magic love of Mick and Beth. The sophisticated love between Mick and Beth and Mick’s dilemma about Coraline and being a vampire are our solace points against this f.cking era of our generation without love, passion and dark side of our instincts. Please dont let us live without them.
Moonlight cast and crew ROCKS cause they literally know how to act as acting’s spirit is to convince people who watch them as if they are really in agony and still struggle for their love. I’d die to watch other seasons. Please find a way to ensure a restart for our Moonlight.
CBS IS LOOSING BLOOD. I will never forgive them and never ever forget Moonlight show. This show might have been the best of all times among CBS productions. Don’t you CBS people have a look at ratings of Moonlight for GODS Skae???!!!…Every TV Channel on earth would purchase Moonlight serials if other seasons would be shot.
All my neigbours, firends and family members boycott CBS for this cancellation decision. Cancel this f.cking decision. Think twice!!!
Best to you all Moonlight fans all over the planet.

Hi roberta,
Yes, many of us still remain upset of CBS’s decision to cancel our beloved Moonlight…And let’s face it Alex is, by far, the sexiest vampire to don fangs…
I am also pleased to let you know that the Moonlight DVD was the #1 best selling DVD since it came out late last year & still is craved… As a result Moonlight did, in fact, win the Saturn Award for the DVD…
Joel Silver, as i said in an earlier post, did approach Alex O’Loughlin in December, 2008 about a Moonlight movie… And recently, right after CBS picked Three Rivers for it’s Fall lineup (beginning Oct 4th, Sunday @ 9PM EST, check you local TV listings for other time zones), Alex O’Loughlin (who is the star of the new 3Rs) asked a former ML writer about the ML movie Silver had phoned Alex about months before… Alex asked Harry Werksman when this movie will begin production??? Seems our Alex, who loves the vampire genre, is anxious to don his vampire fangs again & resurrect his character, Mick St John, as no one else could ever breathed life into MSJ as Alex can…My look at this is a sure sign we will eventually get a Moonlight movie to complete all of the unanswered closures of the story…And Alex, who I mentioned read voraciously any vampire book especially Anne Rice novels, loves this role for he is getting every males dream to play act a vampire & also get paid for it…
I will also note here that CBS DOES NOT OWN RIGHTS TO MOONLIGHT. Thus is why, as to pacify fans, they are giving us Alex in another series…Though to me Alex is an actor who will achieve great heights in acting & I find him a very versicle multi-talented thespian, CBS is again going on the premise that all ML fans were merely actor-centric for Alex…Well he was great & his character, Mick, he made believable & will carry on in his fans memories for his entire career… However, we loved the stories, the new vampire folklore, all of the characters as performed very well by all of the ML casts, not just Alex…CBS did not then nor now grasp that… They did say, in so many words they made a mistake canceling Moonlight & from the pleas of fans are giving us Three Rivers…well Three Rivers would only be complete with the ML cast signed on as the medical team along with Alex…
MOONLIGHT RIGHTS BELONG SOLELY TO WARNER BROS. JOEL SILVER HAS HIS PRODUCTION COMPANIES HOUSED AT WB…SO WRITE TO WB & JOEL REGULARLY TO ASK FOR A ML MOVIE… I THINK IT WILL GET MORE BOX OFFICE RATINGS THAN ANY TWILIGHT MOVIE, THOUGH I LOVE THEM & THE BOOKS….AND WHO KNOWS, A MOONLIGHT MOVIE COULD POSSIBLY RESURRECT ADDED INTEREST BY NETWORKS TO BUY INTO PRODUCING MORE MOONLIGHT EPISODES FOR TV… ONE NEVER KNOWS, I SEE DOWN THE ROAD EVEN TWILIGHT POSSIBLY COMING TO TV EVENTUALLY AS A SERIES…
If you scroll upward, you will find addresses of some WB execs to grab the attention of to write P.O. mailed letters to them…
Please do not give up this crusade and mutual love of Moonlight & our goal…
Thanks, Tish

Oh, I want to further clarify something about the reason Moonlight was canceled… We were given to believe that ML’s ratings were not high enough..what crappola…1st of all Neilsen’s ratings system is archaic & actually any equipment to show ratings is only a selected homes who apply for such a device…
However, the time bomb that led to the demise of our Moonlight came from a verb altercation between to Entertainment Executive Stags, Joel Silver, Executive Producer & ML was his “baby”, who wanted more vampire realism added (thus the reason for the List of LA Vampires received by DA Talbot…BTW, the name Talbot sound vaguely familiar in regards to supernatural horror movies? It should… In the movie called “The Wolfman” the human name of the wolfman character was Lawrence Talbot; are we now getting the picture where ML writers & Joel were trying to take us in the ML series?) & Les Monvess, Corporate Head of CBS in NYC, said
“No”, no violence or whatever… Well they came to a parting of the ways, so CBS took their crayons, toys & left , in the interim canceled Moonlight…Also they did all they could to smother anything Moonlight, but eventually, I would think, when their contract for the show ran out, so did their loathsome actions, for WB only owns ML, always did, but contracted out permission to show through CBS…
DO NOT WASTE TIME & POSTAGE WRITING TO CBS, write to WB & Joel (all addresses in postings above)… And let Joel & Alex & his real agents in Australia, Linston & Morris Agency in Sydney NSW, AU (believe that is the correct spelling of 1st partners surname) get Alex away from CBS contracts long enough to rebirth Mick St John…I am sure, since Alex seems to want to) those 4 people know how to make this come about… Nathan Morris of that firm originally worked for the lates June & John Caan & took over the agency with another partner when no more Caan heirs were left…

Always late in France, we discovered Moonlight during July and August, 2009.
And we were expecting a 2d season as terrific as the 1rst one.
There are many French websites dedicated to Moonlight and we hope the producers will change their mind about an eventual 2d season…
August 26th, 2009 at 3:57 pm
Hi MP Del Ben & other Moonlight Fans,
I really do not feel CBS will not change their minds & bring back ML TV Series… Warner Brothers actually owns the Rights to Moonlight, but I think writing to WB & Executive Producer, Joel Silver is the only way we can resurrect any form of Moonlight…First we are hoping to get them to bring about a Moonlight movie, which would be so awesome for us all worldwide as I know from chatting online with some people abroad, during the past 2 years of fighting for Moonlight in one form or another, that our ML Friends across the seas sometimes cannot get certain shows on TV, some may only be carried on the Internet or not at all…So a movie would be great for us all until we can secure something on TV again after a ML movie becomes as successful as the Twilight sagas…
If not a TV series again, after a big screen version of Moonlight I was thinking for awhile now, so all worldwide can further enjoy future Moonlight storyline, that WB & Joel produce and bring to their wide fanbased ML public a series of ML DVDs continuing the Mick/Beth story et al…
Yes, there is a Moonlight DVD of the original show’s 16 episodes (& do hope you were able to purchase in France and elsewhere abroad), but I am speaking of DVDs to carry on the series after a big screen movie that will be marketed intermittently over a span of time…Yes, I know you are saying but Alex, Sophia, & Jason will age (As for the latter I have not seen any indication in his facial features to even indicate he is already 27), but perhaps they can film most of them all during a small time period 7 then each DVD will be released individually say every 6 months or so…. Well, it is a thought…I do not think Alex’s contract with CBS can prevent him from taking on other acting roles for other studios when his new TV show, three Rivers, comes into hiatus of filming for a season….
I wall add the addresses you all need to begin a letter writing crusade to via real postal mailings, not emails, in the next comment box…
August 26th, 2009 at 3:59 pm
Oops a typo above…first line should read…

Hi malou b.m.,
Our beloved Moonlight went off the air due to negotiation failures between CBS & Joel Silver, ML’s Executive producer, back in April, 2008… It had even won the People’s Choice Award that year for Best New Drama, still CBS canceled the worldwide loved show; goes to prove the old adage “It is not what you know but who you know”… And in 2009 the Moonlight DVD won an award as the Best DVD in Sales of that year… Why CBS is so blind and stubborn is beyond stupid…however CBS does not own Moonlight, Warner Brothers Studios has always owned the Rights to ML…
I, myself, think CBS stinks like discarded fish left in the garbage too long and Alex O’Loughlin (Mick St John) & his Aussie agents need to get him out of any contract that pertains to any holding CBS is involved in cause it is bringing down his career that could be so successful since he is a multi-talented actor… He had already proved himself as same in his native country of Australia before embarking on his journey across the seas to America, yet CBS put him in another TV show that was doomed for failure due to its morbid subject matter which was transplants; it was only on for 8 weeks in total & only one episode was shown in his AU before the show got the axe… Alex also made a movie for Paramount (A sub company of CBS) with JLo which originally was slated to premiere in January, 2010 & is pushed back for release until march or April, 2010; does this sound like CBS is playing fair to Alex?
Recently, Jason Dohring (Josef Kosten in ML) appeared in a CBS:Las Vegas episode but CBS failed to honor him by mentioning his name in the weekly attractions that he would appear in the show… Now this young man has made a good name in the business for many years since a teen ot pre-teen… I find this slight towards Jason by CBS as being rude, disrespectful of him as well as Moonlight fans who, if they had known, would have been at the TVs watching their favorite 400 year old vampire play a human part… I still feel Nina Tassler, Entertainment Head of CBS, is behind this & that she wants to thumb her nose at Moonlight fans every chance she gets through making wrong roles for our ML cast men…
There is a hint in the air that CBS is re-making the old series of 1968-1980 called Hawaii-Five-O with Alex O’Loughlin probably in the late Jack Lord’s former role as Steve McGarrett… Now I am hopeful that this time around for Alex that CBS hires better writers to make this a GO to remain without cancel… I know it is not our Moonlight but would it not be ideal to see CBS get some smarts and team Jason Dorhing, as McGarrett’s partner and 2nd in command of the 5-0 Unit, playing Danno… That role was originally played by James MacArthur, the, real life, adopted son of the late, great actress, Helen Hayes, & jason has that same quality of acting and baby-face appeal as the then young MacArthur had…
Well I do feel none of us should give up Moonlight hope, at least we can still keep trying to have the series in extended form (continued story after the Sonata episode) into a movie…think it would be a box office success worldwide!!!!!
February 11th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
Well its official guys! Alex has signed on to play Steve McGarrett in the remake of Hawaii Five-O! I’ve only seen the show on Nick at Night or some other channel and never even watched a whole episode, but I’m happy to see Alex on TV again.
