Moonlight’s Vampire Mick Will Have a Second Season
Update: Want to help to have Moonlight return?
When the boss says you are in for more then you can bank on it.
Les Moonves the CBS Corporation President & CEO said Friday nights Moonlight show about a vampire/private detective will be coming back next fall for a second season.
Speaking at the 35th annual UBS Global Media & Communications Conference in New York yesterday he said that the show would be back. So if the boss likes the show, the rest of us that like it catch a break and don’t have to fret over the ratings.
The show takes this Friday off but returns on December 14th after Ghost Whisperer. We’ve watched every episode so far and I must say it is well done. Luckily this show is not on CW or else Sam and Dean from Supernatural might be stopping by LA for a visit!

What happened to Moonlight? Was it cancelled?

I’m fairly certain Moonlight will return for a second season. In April they will be airing an additional four episodes they are currently filming now.
There is uncertainty about the series because there have been “creative” differences by the people who run the show, even before the first episode even aired.
However if those problems can be solved, the show has a great chance to return. Clearly it had strong ratings even for Friday night which is a less viewed evening of TV. If the next four episodes do as well in the ratings as in the fall, I think you will see it back. IMHO.

What happened with the new season of Moonlight? It is a very interesting serie, the besto of the best.

I think the writer’s strike played a large part in Moonlight’s stall time. With the creative differences, and that as well, postponed production (IMO). I’m glad the strike has been resolved and look forward to a new season.

Yes I agree the strike is the culprit here. Established shows had more episodes “in the can”, while the new shows were less aggressively created.
I still say that this show will be back next fall. It’s just a formality because it WILL do well when these new episodes air and over the fall it’s ratings were very good for Friday night. Much better than what CBS had there last year. Friday night is the toughest TV ratings night because people do other things than stay home.
