Jason Dohring plays a vampire by the name of Josef on CBS Friday night hit show “Moonlight”. His character is a “mentor” to the main character Mick St John, a vampire private detective. Moonlight returns tomorrow with a new episode.

I’ve always gotten the feeling that the vampire Josef character was like a dapper mob boss, in charge of this vampire world. Maybe not a mob boss because it doesn’t appear that his money was made in a mob way. I guess he is so old he has had time to invest his money wisely!

Monsters and Critics has a nice interview with the actor.

What intrigued you about Josef?

I was immediately fascinated with the character. Very, very, very sharp, you know? I don’t know, very keen, has a very hard edge. He also confirms that Moonlight will be renewed for a second season.
