It looks like the buzz about “Moonlight” will continue. Which it deserves because it’s a terrific show and it appears to be returning for a second season. It’s managed to have the audience “root” for the vampires as they try to assimilate into the society of Los Angeles.

The actor who plays Mick St John is Alex O’Loughlin, a native Australian. He does a nice job with the accent as we have not noticed it at all. Now that we know I think we will keep an ear out to see he calls his co-star Jason Dohring “mate”.

But while Mick is smoldering and reserved, O’Loughlin is playful. “He’s a bundle of energy,” says costar Sophia Myles, who plays reporter Beth Turner, the woman Mick loves but can’t have. “And he’s funny — he makes me laugh all night long. With our schedule, 16 hours a day, six days a week, I couldn’t have hoped for anyone more wonderful to work with.”

The Seatle Post-Intelligencer has the interview.

  1. I agree 100% he’s someone you could look at all night long. Just please don’t cancel the show I look forward to every week.
