We here at Spectral Review are not paranormal investigators, demonologists, or drama critics. We don’t even play any of those on TV! But we do watch most paranormal shows and can tell the good ones from the bad.

Ghost Hunters episode report card.

“Return to St. Augustine Lighthouse

The TAPS team returns to Florida to perform another investigation on the historical St. Augustine Lighthouse.

Ghost Hunters revisits St. Augustine Lighthouse. Can they capture more great evidence like they did on their first visit?

Client Credibility

The team returns to one of their best locations to date. One of the employees of the Lighthouse Faith Albers explains how recent visitors have taken photos that mimic the evidence that TAPS found on their last visit of a dark figure overlooking the stair railing blocking out light from above. Also after closing the lighthouse a picture was taken of some figure in the lighthouse window in the upper area when she knew no one was still in the lighthouse.

The show started out re-capping the most compelling action from their first investigation. They did re-show the dark figure which reminds us on how good the evidence that was collected previously. The St. Augustine Lighthouse is one location with a lot of paranormal activity. Easily a five out of five ghosts.

Five out of five.

Investigation

Jason and Grant explain to us that they have a couple of new pieces of equipment for this investigation. A special camera that can take snapshots or 15 seconds of video if it detects motion in front of it’s lens. They also will install other motion detectors that will turn on a light if some motion is detected. Lastly they will install an audio recorder in a Faraday Cage. The copper of the Faraday Cage should eliminate any sort of electrical signal that could cause some audio recording anomaly. In this investigation they will have three cameras taking video.

Jason and Grant thought they heard children voices but those stopped as they ascended the stairs.

During the investigation a sound man claimed to have felt something touch his legs. He was following Dave and Steve as they tried to capture audio evidence in the lighthouse.

Jason and Grant joked a few times that Kris was “bait” since it’s been known that young pretty females tend to get reaction from the spirits that are at the lighthouse. She quipped maybe she should get a T-shirt with “Bait” on it.

I have to give the team a five out of five ghosts for their work.

Five out of five.

Evidence

The team captured four EVPs. One was clearly a child’s laugh. Another pretty clearly said “we don’t need you” and a third also was pretty clear “I don’t need your help”. The forth EVP was the weakest. The team thought there was a “Yes” answer to one of Kris’ query “is anyone here?” We here at Spectral Review had a hard time picking that one up. It just wasn’t clear like the other EVPs were.

When Jason and Grant went to the basement they appeared to have captured on the thermal a “head and upper torso” of a human figure. They tried to debunk as a reflection of themselves and couldn’t reproduce it. Jason went to the area and they determined it would have been a figure about 4 1/2 feet tall if it was standing. One of those pieces of evidence thats interesting but a bit shaky.

Again a lot of evidence. To have so many EVPs, the thermal video and personal experiences is really quite something. They will get a four out of five since the “Yes” EVP didn’t seem real to us.

Four out of five.

Conclusion
Another very strong episode from the Ghost Hunters. The St Augustine Lighthouse didn’t fail to deliver once again. The new equipment didn’t seem to add to this investigation at all. Hopefully they will continue to use it in season four as we believe it could be helpful. Again a five out five ghosts overall for this episode.
