Paranormal State episode report card.

“Beer, Wine and Spirits”

Katrina and Heather work on a case in which a man, dead since Prohibition, haunts a bar.

Paranormal State investigates an angry spirit from the prohibition era. Is it a spirit or bad electrical wiring?

Client Credibility

The client was Brian the owner of “Katies” a bar in Smithtown, NY. Brian told us of a personal experience where he was falling back and felt something helping him from falling. He was able to regain his balance. Another claim was about broken wine glasses just breaking without logical explanation. His other types of glasses were fine, it was the wine glasses in particular. He also claimed that people just felt an uneasiness in the basement or lower floor of the bar. Brian seemed very credible.

Investigation

The team did a really nice job of investigation. Ryan had determined that Katrina and Heather were going to head the investigation as a training technique. They did a nice job of trying to debunk the broken wine glass problem. They set up wine glasses on different tables in the bar with baby powder under them. Then if the glasses were moved at all the baby powder would show this.

The team did some research with some local historians and found out the bar during prohibition was owned by someone named Charlie. It seems Charlie was arrested for selling alcohol during prohibition and committed suicide in the bar before he went to trial. Earlier the girls had a psychic in the bar and the stories of Charlie seemed to match up.

The team also experienced some “discomfort” in the lower floor of the bar just like one of the client’s claims. Through their investigation they found extremely high levels of EMF. This could easily explain these symptoms. A nice investigation by the team, five out of five ghosts.

Evidence

The wine glasses with baby powder appeared to show some movement. They tested trying to bump the table to repeat the movement and it appeared unable to be debunked. This was an interesting test and could show that something moved the glasses.

They also did have a couple wine glasses on both floors broken and they could not explain why. Other glasses nearby were unharmed.

Four ghosts out of five

Conclusion

A really nice episode from this series. Maybe the best so far.
