We here at Spectral Review are not paranormal investigators, demonologists, or drama critics. We don’t even play any of those on TV! But we do watch most paranormal shows and can tell the good ones from the bad.

Paranormal State episode report card.

“Man of the House”

Ryan and his team help a woman and her grandson, who have encountered a former tenant named Alfred.

Paranormal State sees if an a former owner of a property wishes to stay longer than it should.

Client Credibility

The family living at the Tobyhanna house were very credible. The couple known as Cheryl and Bill were very believable in their stories and point of view. Cheryl told us about having a dream about the spirit in the home. She did tell us about a personal experience of a voice in her ear saying “why are you doing that?” Very chilling. Bill was very upfront about how he doesn’t believe any of the stuff because he did not experience anything. It’s been said “a skeptic is just a person who hasn’t had an experience yet.” The daughter Diane experienced a spirit smoking a pipe. She too seemed credible. Their grandson Adam who saw the “lady with monster hair” of course was credible too. Five out of five ghosts.

Investigation

The team did a nice job of investigating this case. They contacted a relative of the former owners of the home. This relative brought pictures of the people who had once lived there. And this woman’s pictures and stories about the people seemed to back up and explain a lot of the client’s experiences. her grandfather Alfred always smoked a pipe and has a gravelly voice as Cheryl had described it. The woman who died in child birth Emma had red hair which could explain the child’s description of “monster hair”. Overall a nice job by the team. Four out of five ghosts.

Evidence

Again the most difficult aspect of paranormal research is collecting compelling evidence and the team had difficulty in this episode also. They got a hand print on a wall that probably was someone touching the wall in the previous few minutes. The thermal print will stay for a time. Ryan did say he heard a voice say something but it wasn’t highlighted much at all. We don’t know if they recorded it on one of their devices or if anyone else heard it.

Two ghosts out of five

Conclusion

Overall one of the better episodes to date. The clients stories were credible and the investigation showed their stories could be backed up. The team did a nice job.
