We here at Spectral Review are not paranormal investigators, demonologists, or drama critics. We don’t even play any of those on TV! But we do watch most paranormal shows and can tell the good ones from the bad.

Paranormal State episode report card.

“Shape Shifter”

A woman and her daughter who have been attacked by a “winged creature with sharp teeth”. A local shaman warns PRS that there is a shape-shifting spirit on the loose.

Paranormal State crosses paths with Native-American beliefs involving shape shifting. Will Ryan heed a shamans warning?

Client Credibility

A mother Georgia and her daughter Katie who live in Shapley, Maine feel they are experiencing paranormal activity in their home. Katie tells us of an experience where she felt attacked by some half human half animal creature. She describes feeling it’s “hot breath” on her neck. Pretty creepy. Katie’s friend Chris also experienced the entity and described it as having “thin red lips”. Georgia originally did not experience anything but recently had become uneasy in her home.

All individuals seemed pretty convincing that their stories were plausible. The friend Chris was on for just a moment, we wish they had involved him more as his story was the only one that included seeing something. We will give them four out of five ghosts.

Investigation

Ryan Buell brought in a Native American Elder to do a cleansing ritual on the property. They felt that it was some sort of woodland spirit. Chip Coffey came onto the case and hit some marks on his run through of the home. Including feeling something was half human half animal.

Evidence

Dead time just resulted in an eerie recording that to us just sounded like coyotes or some other animals that live in the surrounding woods. It was an eerie sound but certainly not paranormal. Not much evidence highlighted so it’s one ghost out of five.

One ghost out of five

Conclusion

Overall an entertaining show. The clients had compelling stories and were pretty convincing. They investigated and called in a local Native American Elder. This investigation did not reveal much evidence but sometimes that is how it goes. Three out of five ghosts.
