OK so it’s rather obvious that Yvette Fielding from Most Haunted is easily spooked but we have to admit that Yvette, her husband Karl and the rest of the Most Haunted gang go into some pretty creepy places.

Apparently Karl is a horror movie fanatic with life size models of Dracula, Frankenstein, King Kong and the Grim Reaper around their home. So Yvette must be a good sport to allow her husband to indulge in his hobby.

Yvette talks about Most Haunted in this article from the Daily Record:

While the horror movie props are a by-product of Karl’s scary film fandom, there’s no denying that for the last eight years Yvette has been aposter girl for TV terror, thanks to her phenomenonally successful show on Living TV. Most Haunted sees Yvette, cameraman Karl and crew join a medium to investigate scary houses and castles, eerily illuminated by night vision lighting, which gives her the atmospheric green eyes.

But she is still amazed at the programme’s success. It has spawned a swarm of imitators and Yvette’s own project, Ghosthunting With …, where she takes celebrities into catacombs and dungeons.

But it’s still Most Haunted, which was her and Karl’s creation back in 2000, that remains the market leader in televised spookathons.

“When we first came up with the idea and put all our own money in to make the pilot, we were told by every single television executive that ghost programmes won’t work,” she revealed.

“So we never thought people would love it as much as they do, and that others would copy us.

“I think it’s down to the fact that for the first time we had a TV crew being a part of an investigation.

“It was completely different, made viewers think they were in the dark too and had a claustrophobic feel.

“After the first series, I thought we’ve done that now, there’s no way it will go on. So I can’t believe we’re on No.10 now.

We have to give credit to Yvette and Karl because they did start the reality TV ghost hunting genre. Overall that is a good thing because the TV shows have been a catalyst to get real people involved in paranormal research. Which in turn means more people have been helped.
