Operation: Renew Moonlight
We here at Spectral Review think it’s a no-brainer that Moonlight, one of our favorite TV shows will be re-newed for a second season.
But others don’t want to risk it since CBS has not officially announced anything yet. So Operation: Renew Moonlight was born today. From their site:
Do you love Moonlight and want to see it return for a second season? Here is your chance to participate in an effort to get the attention of the powers that be at CBS and potentially make a big difference for the one show we have all come to know and love.
Get the details on what they want you to do at the web site. It certainly could help!
Our advice is for everyone who watches Moonlight to get one more person to watch the next few new shows that will be airing on Friday nights at 9PM and that will go far in assuring that the series will continue.

My response:People, what are you thinking! The letter idea is great, the recipes are cute, but sending GARLIC to Nina Tassler is just plain suidcidal! Remember Jericho? CBS is more that regretting listening to those fans! I have always considered Moonlight fans to be adult, intelligent, articulate people..That being said, adult, itellitgent, articulate people do not need to indulge in juvenile, assinine behavior! Geez!

Who was the idiot who thought this garlic idea up?
Now all Moonlight fans look like a bunch of immature fanatics. Why couldn’t these fans just sign on with
the official blood drive which is working alongside the Red Cross which is a ingenous way to bring positive attention to Moonlight and not embarrass it’s fans.
Thanks for Nothing!

Garlic should have been a no-no, but I do hope the rally outside of Warner Bros @ 4000 Warner B’lvd was more successful than dealing with Nina Tassler.
Wish I still lived in CA because I would have been there. Hope enough people showed up to bolster our fight to win Moonlight back on the air.
BTW, did anyone see the ph# 818-954-4321 for Warner Bros switchboard at one of the Moonlight sites trying to win this fight? Well I called it today and the operator told me that WB was given orders by CBS to direct all calls to this ph#: 1-323-575-2345. When you call it you that is what you get, CBS!!! The operator actually seemed rude to me as she told me that Moonlight was officially cancelled but we could feel free to leave a comment. OF course I did. I was polite but firm, as we must be to get our points across solidly. I did tell this comment recorder line that CBS must release Moonlight from their possession if they do not intend to put it back on the air in the Fall so that another network can be free to pick it up and please Moonlight fans. Which is, of course, not what CBS is doing. They are playing us all for a fool and I, for one, do not like it one bit. I know, that I, will be banning any programming from CBS on my TV after Moonlight’s fainale show tomorrow, Friday, May 16th.
Please check out some of the other sites helping with our Moonlight campaign. Please also get info of Alex O’Loughlin’s agents from one of the site, as well; I am sure that right now Alex needs all the encouragement he can get to fight along with us again. Let’s face it people these idiots who run things at CBS just pulled the rug out from under his feet and he, if you read his letter yesterday on MySpace.com, seems shocked and depressed. He needs to know we will stand by him and remain his loyal fans throughout his carrer. Don’t let this man feel like a failure, which I am sure must be going through his mind at this point.
DON’T GIVE UP THE FIGHT FOR MOONLIGHT AND THE STRUGGLE THAT IT TAKES TO MOVE IT TO ANOTHER NETWORK IS GOING TO BE A LONG AND HARD ONE. HOWEVER I FEEL IN ALL HONESTLY THAT CBS IS NOT THE PLACE MOONLIGHT WILL EVER BE APPRECIATED. LONG GONE ARE THE PIONEERS THAT MADE THAT CORPORATION GREAT, NINCOMPOOPS RUN THE BUSINESS NOW AND WOULD NOT KNOW TALENT IF IT WAS THROWN IN FRONT OF THEM.

Oh, sorry for the typos in my other previous posts, but before I run off to another site please note that there is a number we can call that direct us to the Media Rights Capital in LA, CA. Who you want to leave a voice mail for is Keith Samples, the President of Television. Expess your desires, via voice mail, to have Moonlight resume being aired again, but on a different network:
The ph# is 310-786-1600, then press 1 for to reach his extention as prompted
Note: CW Network as some fans are hoping will pick Moonlight up is actually the brain child of both Warner Bros and CBS,, thus the initials CW. So, tell me can we even trust them to do right by Moonlight?

Why did they ever have to tack it off the air.I mean if people say ”we want Moonlight back” then they should put it back on the air.unless they have a boult lose then it should go to them.Im one of the mill. that loves it .My friends even say that they if they had one wish it would be to save moonlight because we love it so much.I still have it recorded and i wach it ever day but it isnt enough. i want more, i want a 2 season. And it would mack my aditude better then it frekon is.What rally ticks me off is when i read the articls about not having a 2 season and that it is ”DEAD”
I HATE CBS NOW I HATE THEM WITH CAP.LETTERS AND RIGHT NOW I AM REALLY TICKED OFF.OMG I JUST WANT TO STRANGIL SOMEBODY.I WISH I COULD CUSE THEM UP ONE SIDE AND DOWN THE OTHER BUT I CANT WICH SUCKS REAL BAD.
BY FOR NOW : )( : ha ha ha i HATE you cbs

Brittaney and all, we still feel the same about Moonlight and CBS though this campaign is thought to be over… However, I feel with the success of the movie, Twilight, and the other vampire genre TV shows that have remained on CBS should get a clue that they were dead wrong; at least we all wish that but Nina Tassler is not going to admit to her mistake unless some execs over her de-throne her as was done some exec house cleaning over at NBC recently…
My object to be brought across is that CBS is owned by other corporations holding stocks in this network..Viacom is one but the largest holdings are with Westinghouse… Now that the Holidays are within days of being behind us for another year, let’s get begun with a new snail mail (regular post office mailed letters via Certified mailings with return receipts to let us know were received) campaign focused on these holding corporations to oust Nina & bring back Moonlight for we are not actor-centric as proven by the vast ratings of Twilight & other vampire genre focused films.
Nona, I fear but for our best interest, is actor-phobic… Why has Alex not come out on TV with his new advertised project supposedly in the works yet? I think Nina is the holdup & she is thinking all fans were just wanting to oogle over Alex. Yes, he is a dynamite looking man & a fine actor to boot, but it was Mick, not Alex, that made us tingle & it was the storyline that kept us tuning in faithfully… I think Nina is a mean vindictive b-word who thinks this contract (only a year long) will bind Alex to CBS and out of fans site…Who knows maybe she had the hots for him & he turned her down…No one knows what goes on behind the scenes…And Sophia, a wonderful young lady who was the perfect Beth & loved worldwide; wish Alex realized she cares deeper than she admits about him & Holly should find someone else to pay her bills as she has done since a young teen…Holly is not right I feel for Alex…And I’d loke to see Sophia in another TV show, & possibly a movie, with Alex again…

Generally I do not post on blogs, but I would like to say that this post really forced me to do so, really useful information.
February 6th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
So how is the Renew Moonlight thread useful information to you, Steve Smith??? Maybe you can shed some light on how we can cajole TPTB into resurrecting out Moonlight, even after all of this time & the Holding Contract of Alex still alive?
As far as that Holding Contract, I still feel that is another ploy to hold Alex in limbo and there will never be a project for him that nina will approve of so she can continue to punish Moonlight fans for only voicing the truth… If nina takes this all as an afront I think she is in the wrong business as tinsletown thrives on Catty, if she wants to think of what we said as being such and not assume rightful responsibility for denying us and cancelling a wonderful show…

It seems that many of us feel we are missing the completion to Moonlight. We feel that the storylines have been left hanging in the air & not been allowed to leap like Mick off a tall structure, but hanging on threads. However, as with any thread, it is a tie into something & so I place this thread here at AOLO so we can all voice our feelings, our despair over losing a great vampire show which was truly unique and shed a different light on the folklore surrounding the vampire legends & show our support towards a Moonlight movie in the future, hopefully the near future….
We all fell in love with the characters we met in Moonlight all brought to life by some pretty wonderful young actors: Sophia Myles, Jason Dohring, Shannon Sossaman, but most of all the multi-talented young Aussie named Alex O’Loughlin… Alex, for most of us in the US, was new to our eyes, but definitely appealing, yet it was his talent that made us become devoted to him as an actor & fall in love with Mick St John. That love was cut too short by the swift destructive fires of CBS when it cancelled this favorite show even after it won a People’s Choice Best New Drama Award…
Moonlight was about vampirism and human love; an age old myth but so sort after, such a story needs no time is right to be shown. We miss our weekly dose of Mick/Beth love, Jason/Mick banter, Coraline/Mick/Beth triangle…And many would like to find a happy ending to the Mick/Beth love but shown on the Big screen in a Moonlight movie, possibly with a little more sensuality than allowed on TV. And dare not we forget that list of vampires sent to the DA on the last episode, Sonata! One can only fear what it implies, one can only hope, that our Moonlight vampires do survive… But what will become of Beth, will Mick turn her, will they marry? So many, many questions, that I have not room to list…
As we all read recently, Joel Silver had approached Alex about such a movie in December of 2008; I am certain Mr Silver just did not forget about it. As you recall another vampire/human love story of a younger age group hit the silver screen by storm in November, 2008, but at that time no timeline of when the sequels to that November movie, that was from a long saga of novels, would be filmed, so Silver must have thought the time was right then… Now he may be waiting for the hoopla over that set of films to die down & then give us a real mature vampire/human love story on the big screen. But I still feel that Silver is keeping the idea on the burner and has not forgotten about it…. After all it was originally Silver’s baby & a movie version of Moonlight’s stories can sizzle more than allowed on TV…
I want to say that Alex loved Moonlight &, yes, it hurt him that it was cancelled, too… Can you imagine how he must have felt? Like a failure is my guess… To an actor having a show cancelled is like slapping them & saying “You stunk; your acting, your makeup, your style…” And though Alex said we must let go of Moonlight, I feel, as many do, that he would welcome the chance to breathe life in Mick St John again if only one more time to show CBS & the world his Moonlight is worth it & bring the world a more scintillating Mick on the movie screen …
Please give your support… A Moonlight movie will not just appear if we don’t support it or tell TPTB that we still believe in vampires, especially Mick St John, & Moonlight… We must get the show on the road and ask, plead, brush egos, beg if need be, to get this to become a reality & not just postings on a fansite… Snail mail (via Post Office) is the answer & sending the letters as certified/registered so it has to be signed for & thus noted it arrived… emails are not the thing; can be deleted and never read…
Oh, a note, we may also want to write to the booking agents for the lead actors of TV’s Moonlight to let them know this campaign is on , why & what we so want & to make their clients available for filming the movie…. It may sound like harsh measures, but any agent knows his pay depends upon what sells the public….
And please, I implore you, no matter how much we love Alex, please do not sound like you are “swooning” over him but make certain that you do imply that a Moonlight movie would not be the same without him… The more business like we sound, I think the more we will be noticed, respected, & listened to….
The following is a list of addresses to write to to seek our Moonlight movie… We can send to Nina Tassler and Mark Gordon, but I think it is best for Joel Silver to hold that power…

I’m one of the ones writing letters to the MOONLIGHT MOVIE CRUSADE–If you REALLY love MOONLIGHT please join us!
It has recently been reveiled that they had NO intention of putting out a DVD but it is everyones clammering for one with letters and emails, plus putting it on the AMAZON want list that actually got it out in the stores–now the DVD won a Saturn Award!
And we ARE making prgress on the CRUSADE to get us that movie—it’s being talked about, and even by Alex even tho CBS and nasty Nina want him to distance himself from it!
WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!
Write people write!!!!
