Poll: Ghost or Toast

This photo is from a friend of mine of a home he and his wife lived in at the end of the previous century (1998-2000). One of them thinks it’s a ghost in the window while the other thinks it can be explained some other way.
So we thought we would put up a poll to see what all of you thought.
A little bit of the background of the house is that it was built circa 1840. Part of the home was once a Post Office, and later was a store. The home is located in Upper Jay, NY

the aporition is disporportionate. It’s head is too big to be close up in the window, plus you can’t guarantee it’s not light coming in from another window hitting something in the room causing a reflection on the inside of the window. That’s why we work at night.
