Ghost Hunters episode report card.

“Spirits of the Old West”

The team heads to Nevada for some ghostly activity at the Goldfield Hotel.

The Ghost Hunters go to the Goldfield Hotel and then onto Virginia City to the Old Washoe Club. Will they find the ghosts of the Ponderosa?

Quote of the episode:

“They’re clever, the women of the night.”
– Tango

Case : Goldfield Hotel

Client Credibility

The owner of the Goldfield Hotel showed the property to Jason and Grant. His name was Red Roberts and he clearly stated several times that he had no experiences in the building nor did he believe in ghosts.

The claims of paranormal include room 109 where one of the mining men had a mistress who became pregnant with another man’s child. He chained the woman to the steam radiator and threw the baby down the mine shaft. The woman was left to die in room 109. Her apparition has been seen in the room.

The second floor is where a body was thrown down an elevator shaft. Again more apparitions on the second floor. Included in the claims are the smells of perfume and cigar smoke.

On the fourth floor there was a gunfight and a man was killed. People have been pushed on the fourth floor by unseen hands.

Five out of five.

Investigation

Britt Griffith joins the team on the investigation. Britt is from Pacific Paranormal.

The personal experiences come down to seeing shadows. First Steve and Britt think they see some shadows on the second floor. They describe the shadows differently though so it seems likely nothing was there. Steve saw a full bodied shadow while Britt saw a short 3 feet tall shadow.

Kris Williams goes to room 109 where the woman was chained to the radiator and died. The thinking being that she may respond more to a female than to a male. It appears to be an effective plan.

Evidence

They find an unexplainable shadow on the thermal. They didn’t highlight it too much and we think its nothing since it is probably Jason’s or a cameraman’s shadow. They talk about two round heat signatures but again probably nothing.

Some good EVPs for this episode captured by Kris in room 109. They include “get out” and “where did the bitch go?” Pretty nasty. A third EVP wasn’t as good but could be “can we go home now?”

Four out of five.

Case : Old Washoe Club

Client Credibility

The owner of the Old Washoe Club is Scott Burrell. A former employee of the establishment by the name of “Sweetwater” John Buie tells us a story of seeing a head in a door way and then seeing it go away.

The spiral staircase was the location of a young girl apparition that was seen by a beer delivery man. John Mitchell a bartender at the Old Washoe Club tells us he saw the delivery man drop the hand cart and run out of the building. Dude run!

A room upstairs is the location of where an older man killed himself. Another room was the location where a prostitute was murdered by having her throat cut.

Five out of five.

Investigation

The team does its regular good job but not much happening. The room where the prostitute was murdered was investigated by Jason and Grant with the K2 meter. They try to get the spirit to light the k2 meter and eventually it does light. They hear some humming but nothing ends up on the audio.

Tango and Steve go to the “ballroom” area on the second floor and have a couple of funny scenes. Steve describes how the room was used, all the exciting happenings that occurred in the room. Tango is soaking it all in. Steve explains how the prostitutes would get their customers to rendevous via the spiral staircase so their wives would not be aware of their location. Tango says “They’re clever, the women of the night.” :)

Then they find a plumbing vent pipe and investigate. As they notice the foul odor, Steve says they just breathed in “someone’s pooh smell.” Tango looks to be gagging. :)

Five out of five.

Evidence

Not much captured. Just one inaudible EVP.

Two out of five.

Conclusion

Another solid episode from the Ghost Hunters. Some good EVPs were caught and both locations were interesting. An entertaining scene with Steve and Tango.

Britt Griffith added some good investigation skills to the team. We think its better when they have six investigators instead of five. It was good to have someone different like Britt. An experienced investigator and even did real well on TV.

Four out of five.
