As you may know we here at Spectral Review recently investigated the Myrtles Plantation with Everyday Paranormal. It was a chance to investigate the paranormal with the seasoned veterans of Everyday Paranormal.

We have posted a lot of information about our adventures at the Myrtles Plantation including a Myrtles Plantation Photo Gallery, and a Myrtles Plantation Investigation Timeline.

The work of evidence gathering and evaluation is ongoing, and Everyday Paranormal will release their evidence on a future DVD. We will let you know when it’s available, hopefully in the summer of 2008.

However we wanted to share the personal experiences that people had at the Myrtles Plantation. These experiences happened to veteran investigators of Everyday Paranormal, and to people who are new to paranormal investigation, which includes the staff here at Spectral Review.

We will start off with the Caretaker’s Cottage.

Caretakers Cottage at Myrtles Plantation

Here is what we can tell you about the experiences people had at the Caretaker’s Cottage:

As we mentioned, this investigation was being filmed for a future DVD release. One of the members of the film crew was their sound man Todd. During the evening investigation, Todd and the rest of the crew were filming at the Caretakers Cottage. From Todd:

I was standing on the porch of the caretakers cabin and jumped about five feet when I felt someone’s hand rubbing my arm. I quickly looked around but no one was there.

Better you than me Todd. :)

Brad and Barry the founders of Everyday Paranormal along with Steve their Tech Manager, and Steve the “voice of Everyday Paranormal” (he will be narrating their upcoming DVDs) slept in the Caretaker’s Cottage after the investigation. From Brad:

We stayed in the Caretaker’s Cottage and the next morning, we were driving home when Steve reached into his pocket to get some change and pulled out a small piece of paper. He handed it to Barry not knowing what it was. I recognized it to be a train ticket stub from Chicago I had in my pack back since November. I had two of them. Here is where the story gets strange.

I keep receipts like that in a small unaccessible part of my back pack when I go on business travel. It had been tucked away there for six months. Steve was wearing shorts that were at the bottom of his zipped up suitcase that he put on just that morning, and my backpack and his suitcase were never near each other. I checked my zipper pouch where I keep the receipts and verified it had not been opened. When I checked – sure enough – only one of the train ticket stubs was in my bag. Other investigators from our last investigation had items misplaced like that when they stayed in the cabin. Although subtle, it is still a personal paranormal experience.

To me the interesting thing to think about is that at some point being a physical object, that ticket must fly about in mid air as it was transferred from back pack to shorts pocket. Can you imagine what that looked like? The things that can happen while one sleeps in a haunted cottage!

The following experience was witnessed by Brad and Hector. Hector is also an investigator from Everyday Paranormal. Told to us by Brad:

I was staying in the Caretaker’s Cabin with Barry, Steve and Steve. When we got the keys at 2pm, we went in and set our bags down, sat down for a few minutes, then headed back to the main house to start organizing the 101 class. I locked the door behind me and was the only one who had the key. After the class (a couple hours later), Hector and I headed to the cabin to set up the IR video camera on a tripod. When I opened the door, I noticed the double bed comforter and pillows and been pulled down – hard. Pillows were like they were tossed and the blanket was like someone had just yanked it down. No one had been in that room since we left a couple hours earlier, and I was the only one with the key. The maids had told us later that they have a real problem almost on a daily basis about beds getting unmade for no reason.

Again, what a sight it would have been to see the bed unmade by unseen hands!
