Investigators Dedicated to the Search for Evidence
On an episode earlier this year, the Ghost Hunters investigated Fort Mifflin located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On that episode the investigators had to spend time in the underground casement that William H Howe was held as a prisoner. We as viewers were shown the difficult time that the Ghost Hunters investigators had going underground in the casement. In spots it was a tight. It was dark. It was creepy. Even Jason Hawes complained he was a little claustrophobic. Jason to his credit did go back into the casement and fought his fears. But Kris Williams and Dave Tango just couldn’t stay down there more than a few minutes. Remember that Billy Howe was held there as a prisoner for months.
Don’t get us wrong, it was not an easy task. See the Fort Mifflin Photo Gallery to get an idea on what it was like.
We mention this Ghost Hunters episode because it puts this next story of these paranormal investigators in perspective. An investigative task much more difficult than the casements at Fort Mifflin.
Everyday Paranormal has been asked by a home owner in New Orleans to investigate her property. At least one of her claims of paranormal activity are several sightings of full bodied apparitions. The home owner tells Everyday Paranormal of a stone structure that looks like crypt under the house. The home is a very short distance from the famously haunted Lafayette Cemetery No 1. She believes the crypt/stone structure may be the cause of her paranormal problems.
So Everyday Paranormal investigated. They visited the property for the first time a few months ago. Before we even show you how difficult it was to access the stone structure, first read the account of Mike Berger, one of the investigators from Everyday Paranormal:
“Brad told us the story of the homeowners claims…how they couldn’t get renovations done under the building because contractors would run away screaming. Apparently there was some stone structure about 150 feet into a crawlspace under the building that the homeowner believes might be a crypt from the original Lafayette Cemetery which is just a few yards away. I was the lucky one who got the assignment to go under because I am the thinnest one on the team - and it was a tight fit even for me. I crawled belly-first in a passage way that was about two feet wide by a foot and a half high at best for about 75 feet until it opened up a little. The problem happened about half-way down the passage. I started to hear whispers and saw a few shadows pass by ahead of me. I was in complete darkness using only the image through the viewfinder of my IR video recorder to see. All of a sudden, a rock from nowhere came flying by my head. This rock did not fall from anywhere, it was clearly thrown. Being in the vulnerable position that I was, I literally had to back out on my belly feet first for 75 feet. Once we got back to the hotel, we started reviewing the footage right way. Right before the rock is thrown, you hear a whistle as if someone trying to get your attention, then as luck would have it, we caught the rock being thrown out of nowhere on video. Now curiosity was getting the best of me, and I just had to get back under that building to make it the entire way. I would get the chance a few months later.”
Wow. Just an amazing account by Mike. I don’t think I have heard a personal experience more scary. We here at Spectral Review saw Mike go back under that house to again get video of the crypt/stone structure. We estimate he was down there for nearly 45 minutes.
The following photo shows the entrance to the crawl space under the home. Remember this is New Orleans, there are not basements under homes there.

Here is a photo of the crawl space. The flash of the camera gives you an idea of the height of the space. But the flash doesn’t give you a sense of the distance.

The next photo gives you some perspective on the distance Mike had to crawl to reach the stone structure. The red “X” shows the approximate location of the stone structure underneath the home. The picture was taken parallel to the entry to the crawl space. Thats quite a distance! Especially when shadow people might be throwing rocks at you!

Finally, here is a shot of the stone structure. As you can see it looks like a primitively made structure and very well could be a crypt. This is an infrared shot because it was so dark.

Our hats are off to Mike and the other paranormal investigators who go to the max to find answers to the questions that this paranormal field poses.
