The Carroll Area Paranormal Team (CAPT) recently had the opportunity to investigate the Mason House Inn in Bentonsport, Iowa. Actually it was a joint investigation with Bluegrass Paranormal Society.

The Mason House Inn has had an interesting history:
- Built in 1846
- It has survived five major floods
- Used as a station in the Underground Railroad
- The second owners, the Masons brought many furniture pieces in 1857 which are still on the property
It sure sounds like a location that could have paranormal activity.
From their report, two of their investigators had similar personal experiences:
BGPS Eddie: Eddie witnessed a shadow figure on the first floor in the main doorway to the parlor area. The shadow was standing in the hallway “looking” in at the teams as they investigated this area. Eddie also saw the shadow figure in the dining area next to a TV set. He had a general feeling of dread in the Inn and while in room 8 saw and heard a doorknob rattle and turn as he was leaving the room with CAPT members.
Lisa: Upon leaving room 8 Lisa was also witness to the doorknob turning and rattling along with Eddie from BGPS. She also saw the shadow figure in the main hallway while sitting in the parlor and in the dining room next to the TV at the same time as Eddie. Lisa had a feeling of unease in room 7 and 8 but reported this feeling more in room 7.
CAPT captured some very interesting and clear EVPs so make sure you check them out.
