Ghost Hunters International “Castle of the Damned” Report Card
We here at Spectral Review are not paranormal investigators, demonologists, or drama critics. We don’t even play any of those on TV! But we do watch most paranormal shows and can tell the good ones from the bad.
Ghost Hunters International episode report card.
“Castle of the Damned”
The gang goes to an Irish Castle and an English Mansion.
|
Ghost Hunters International goes to Ireland and England. With an old friend and a new one. |
The Fitzgerald quote of the episode:
“Wait a minute. What the hell was that?!”
– Barry Fitzgerald
Case: Charleville Castle
In Tullamore Ireland is the location for the Charleville Castle, a huge old Irish castle. With Donna home sick Kris Williams fills in for this case. Looks like Shannon is not needed any more.
Client Credibility
Interestingly the castle has owners and and a family that lives there. We are shown the property by Bonnie Vance who lives in the castle.
She tells us of a story of Harriet who was sent upstairs to wash her hands but died when she fell when trying to slide down the banister.
We hear stories of the dungeon and unexplainable noises in the castle.

Investigation
Having a full stomach from Barry’s home made Irish stew, they begin their work.
Barry and Kris head to the dungeon and conduct an EVP session. They hear some footsteps but don’t find anything.
Dustin and Brian check out the staircase and think they hear a child giggling and other weird noises.
Barry sets up his camera pointing to the service tunnel for the servants. It’s set to take a picture every three seconds. They heard thumps and bangs. Barry was hit with a piece of wire as it was thrown across the room. Pretty cool.

Evidence
There was some evidence as they got one EVP and Barry’s camera showed a movement of a door. The EVP was not a spoken word but possibly could be a child’s laugh. Was it obvious to us? No but it’s a possibility.
The photo by Barry’s camera was definitely interesting. It did prove that the door moved but it was so dark it’s not clear that a human wasn’t there moving it.

Case: Samlesbury Hall
The GHI new Case Manager is Brandy Green. So it looks like for the rest of these episodes she will be filling in for Donna.
Client Credibility
Simon Entwistle was our tour guide for Samlesbury Hall. He was a bit over the top on telling the stories of paranormal activity at the location. Definitely entertaining because he had a lot of enthusiasm but the stories sounded more legend than they normally do on these cases.

Investigation
Robb and Andy check the grounds with the thermal camera. Robb questions a blue spot to the right of a big tree which turns out to be explainable. We were wondering about just before that though:

The two figures in the red circle did appear to move to us. It was a very quick shot but if you get a chance to watch it again check it out and tell us what you think. It’s about 47 minutes into the show. We caught it while watching live and have watched it a few times on the recording. The figure to the left appears to bend down.
Maybe just a trick of light but it’s creepy.

Evidence
They didn’t capture any evidence. Thats the way it goes sometimes.

Conclusion
GHI does not fail to entertain. Even though not a lot of evidence to ponder, still an entertaining show.

Didn’t this Barry feller once claim to being stalked by fairies? I believe he was doing a show with the plumbers.
