Ask You: Ghost Adventures with Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin
Ghost Adventures starring Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin has made it’s premiere on The Travel Channel. You can check out their show page on The Travel Channel website.
And last night aired the second episode in the series which took place at the Houghton Mansion in North Adams Massachusetts. It is a location that Berkshire Paranormal is very familiar.
What we wanted to do was Ask You what you think of this new show. It certainly is different than anything else on the air these days. Bagans, Groff and Goodwin certainly do not pretend to be paranormal experts. They basically just bring their cameras and audio recorders and try to get a reaction.
- They do provoke a lot, what do you think of their methods?
- Do you find the show entertaining? After all it is TV and that is the main goal.
- If they didn’t lock themselves in, do you think they would do a “Dude Run!”
- What do you like best about the show?
- What don’t you like?
The Travel Channel folks have given us a signed poster by Zak, Nick and Aaron that we would like to give away to a reader. If you make a comment on this article we will put your name in a hat and pick someone on Halloween night. So please leave a real email address so we can contact you if you are the lucky winner.
Plus the Travel Channel folks will probably be reading your comments, so if you want to let them know how to improve the show, or what parts you don’t like, here is your chance to let them know.

OK, the unspoken rule is to not criticize anyone else working in this field, so my critique is meant to be constructive. While Bagans tends to get excitable (maybe it’s his nature) he also tries a bit too hard to present the element of “danger” to the audience while playing to the camera. Better I think to just let the documentation speak for itself and pretend the cameras aren’t there as best as you can and leave the “4th wall” (show-biz term) intact. If you experience something and document it well, people won’t need to be “sold” on it when it’s shown to them. Best to let them make up their own minds whether they be believers or skeptics. Less is more.
The shtick of being locked in is for dramatic effect. If somebody is injured inside a dark house, or has to get to a bathroom there’s no doubt somebody is going to be called to get them out. Relieving yourself on the floor isn’t a good option for any guest. Personally, I’d spend a fortune in glass replacement if it came to that.
Our biggest qualm: The provoking thing is overdone. Again I think it’s done for effect. A kind of “look-how-brave-we-are-in-the-face-of-danger” thing. No need for it. People associated with Houghton Mansion died tragic deaths. What are you demanding of them, exactly?
It is entertainment, to be sure, in a neat, edited 43 minute package like other shows of this nature, but the fear we have is that new generations of investigators will learn only from these shows and go off waving gizmos around and calling out spirits to “bring it on”. We would suggest first reading Troy Taylor, Loyd Auerbach or Carl Jung with someJames Randi and Micheal Shermer thrown in to get the skeptical point of view for balance before heading out to the local cemetery and raising a ruckus in a place where respect should be the keyword. Sitting in the dark with nothing going on at all is more the norm than danger lurking around every corner.
If the ultimate goal of a group is to get TV deals, fine. We wish you well (maybe we’re just jealous…lol). Just keep some perspective on what you see on television.

Not to mention Mr. Zagans studied film making.

I think the show is great! It is so much more exciting and scary than any of the other ghost investigation shows out there right now. There is a lot more “activity” and is way more believable.
I think the provoking makes it more entertaining to watch is not meant to be disrespectful. They do it to get the ghosts to make their presence known. The GAC is not out to save souls….just to prove the existence of the paranormal.
As for being locked in….I like it. It lends more excitement as well. Sure if they had to they might call someone (if they even have cell phones with them) or break a window. In their original documentary they jumped out of a second story window and I don’t blame them one bit. I’d have done the same thing.
I don’t think there is anything I would change about the show. I think its great the way it’s filmed and the fact there are only three of them. The fewer people the creepier it is.
I think all three of them do a great job but if I’m supposed to pick a favorite part of the show its absolutely Zak. I won’t go on and on about how hot he is. I’m sure he hears or reads it 100 times a day.
In conclusion…I look forward to Friday nights starting at 8 because I can’t wait to watch the re-runs as well as the new episodes. The show is the best of its kind out there and the Travel Channel would be smart to keep it running for many seasons to come.

Interesting show. The lock-down appears to be a gimmick, but it probably does more to show that any real person hiding in a facility will be hard pressed to exit the building if they are discovered, and it keeps other folks out during the filming. Note — for the documentary that came first, the lock-down did not stop an emergency exit down the fire escape.
The most interesting aspect of the show to me is the willingness to select sites where some type of “negative presence” is most likely to be encountered. In turn, that fits with the provoking style. Houghton seemed not to fit that mold, but the Music Center/slaughterhouse/murder site did.
It is geared for faster paced entertainment, with some leve of higher risk implied for the three of them. It’s more of an amusement park ride that makes Ghost Hunters look like a scientific expedition in comparison.

I really love this show!! I have seen the documentary they did a while ago and was very excited to see that they have a weekly series. I like everything about it.
I have read on several messageboards that people do not like their style of provoking but I think that this is what makes this show unique. I also have to say that they do not always provoke (at Bobby Mackey’s Zak was very nice when taking to Johanna).
I also watch Ghost Hunters, but that show has become kind of old and boring. I really like how it is just the three guys in the location which I think adds to the suspense and gives them a better chance of catching activity.
I have enjoyed both shows that have been shown so far and eagerly await Friday nights to see what happens next.
Thanks,
Mary Beth
P.S. I think Zak is hot as hell !!

I love the new show Ghost Adventures, but I think that Nick whines too much. I will watch the show every episode, but if Nick keeps on freaking out I will not watch the show anymore. Be a man Nick, stop crying you wimp. Everyone else on the show, besides Nick, Great Job. This is the best Ghost Haunting show ever made. Keep it up. Just tell Nick to stop ruining it by freaking out. He messes up the vibe and shots for the show. So Nick, STOP WHINING!!!!

I saw the Nevada horrors episode on the eve of All Hallows. The Goldfield Hotel footage was really neat.
I live in Reno and am close to Virginia City so it was cool to see those familiar places also.
As for provoking, at first I thought it was corny, but then realize it gives heir to the suspense.
The show is very entertaining and grows on you. The more I watched my senses clued into the details of the video and audio footage.
Regardless of locking themselves in, it would be scary either way. Certain events remind me of the last scene in The Blair Witch project – they lose one of the 3 (Aaron like Josh), the brick flying incident and their reaction was just like when Heather and the other guy go rushing through the house and scream – similarly like Zac and Nick did.
I like this show because you enter it cynical with a ‘yeah right’ stance, and end up with a chilly adrenaline rush that you would get from a regular horror film. My 62″ tv, satellite speaker surround sound and the windy night enhanced this effect.
The use of background music in some scenes kinda loses the effects than if it were silent. After all being in a dark room with camera lights is pretty freaky when there is no music in the background.
I am still skeptical of the apparition in the ballroom, but the gunslinger in the hotel got my attention…then the brick incident!
Zac doing the “Sh sh sh” is corny, but otherwise he is likeable in every other way.
The only thing I don’t really like is that I am not physically in the rooms with these guys experiencing it first hand. When is virtual tv coming out anyway!
Cheers and looking forward to the prison episode tomorrow!

I want MORE crying, running and screaming! Fake flying foam bricks and sticks. Peasants with pitchforks and torches . . . I-gor asking “What ‘ump?”
October 31st, 2008 at 9:22 am
I have to defend Nick. I don’t think he whines and jumping or running is a natural reaction. I think they all prove that they are “being men” by the fact that they keep going to all these places again and again…facing the unknown.
Great job guys. Keep up the good work.

I think they know exactly what they’re facing when they go to these places.
October 31st, 2008 at 4:19 pm
The show is supposed to be raw and real. That being said, in reality, people get scared. I seriously doubt that there is a paranormal investigator out there that has never been frightened. The only difference is most of us don’t have a camera following us around to document our emotions. Keep that in mind before you let the critical comments flow.

You tell ‘em Renogirl!!!
October 31st, 2008 at 4:48 pm
And as former film students, I think Zak and Nick recognize the value of drama, if over the top a bit.

In regards to the flying brick. How does a non-physical entity produce physical effects? I mean in concrete language, can someone explain how that’s possible?

Just finished watching the new episode…awesome!!!!!!!!! Still freaked out. I have on a million lights in the house and my cat still made me jump out of my skin.

One of the best paranormal shows on T.V. I’m totally hooked.
November 7th, 2008 at 11:29 pm
As a huge fan of anything paranormal, the show is great from that aspect. Lots of history. Unfortunately, I find I have to FORCE myself to sit thru it because of how irritating Zak is! It’s so hard to stomach him!! Also, I realize everyone reacts to fear differently, but as a woman I swear I couldn’t scream louder than these ‘men’ if I tried. Suck it up boys — you chose to be in this field! Lose the host and the show becomes 1000x more tolerable.
November 8th, 2008 at 12:41 am
Mac08, I have to agree with you. I am also fascinated with anything dealing with the paranormal, however this show is slightly better than The Blair Witch Project, which is not saying much. The idea behind the series is good but executed poorly. I believe the only way this show is going to last is if the format of the show is altered. For example, less is more. Zak needs to quiet down and act like an adult. He sounds like a young punk trying to start a fight with an imaginary friend by wearing a shirt that is too small and yelling excessively. Also, seeing is believing, there is a lot of over reacting to nothing, let the video do the talking. My goal is not to bash Zak as a person. I would like to see the show succeed, because as I mentioned I love the paranormal.
November 15th, 2008 at 12:21 am
I find this show to be a little ridiculous. Why? Zak. It’s like he wants to beat up ghosts! Calm down tough guy. I really liked the documentary and the first episode, but by the second episode I was disgusted by how unorganized and chaotic the team is. They really lose it, over the top lose it over anything, any lil sound, anything! I know its scary and all but come on!! Zak is rude and bossy to the other guys, and sometimes Nick is too. Its just to damn chaotic to watch. They constantly yell at each other, snap at each other and talk over each other. The evps they produce are so hard to hear sometimes..I really wish they would clean them up a bit better (i know its possible) so we can hear it for once. Zak, please stop acting like you are going to bodyslam every spirit u come in contact with!! I thought this show was about actually finding paranormal evidence not you flexing your rude demanding insulting overbearing bossy muscles. OVER IT!
November 15th, 2008 at 11:08 am
I think what zak nick and arron do is exciting and would love to join them sometime on one of there trips just to see for myself I am a believer in ghosts and have shadow people where I live. we can all be critics but can we do what they do and keep our sanity???????
November 15th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
Long as you go in with it intact, you should be fine.
November 17th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
These kind of shows are really hard to critique. You have to think..there wouldn’t be much of a show if they didn’t produce “something”. So how does that demand make this show genuine? How do you get ghost to perform on the spot? Not saying they haven’t found some startling evidence…but didn’t they have to bring something to the table if they were to get a show on the Travel Channel? My problem is what is real and what is in the heads of those producing this show. WANTING to find something. NEEDING to find something. You want to believe that what they are showing you is real and not doctored in anyway, but you just never know. They have to sell their stories. The guys in the show get way too scared and often times run from the situation. Not good seeing how the whole point is catching something. And if one more ghost hunting show thrives on what the the people in the show sees and yet doesn’t capture it for the viewer i’m going to freak out! Why can’t they wear something on their chest or above their heads to show us what they are seeing!!?? The viewer always misses out!
Skip the whole “locked up” thing. That’s just for drama and again, all we ask for is what’s real. This makes it look doctored up again. Don’t run away from scary situations. You’re all big and bad when provoking yet you ran away from the most startling evidence yet with the whole brick throwing incident. The members of Ghost Hunters would never do that. You could learn and thing or too from TAPS.

I use to live in a haunted house back in Colorado since I was 8 years old, till I married and left home at 18… I also had a haunting experience when I lived in New Mexico….. I now live in Missouri where we own a campground.
I also love this group and have been sending them energy to protect them.
Once again I thank you for your help.. FAB

Unless you have been there and done that, it is best to not judge a persons actions when experiencing something out of the ordinary.
Having felt, heard or even seen something that was supernatural in my life, I can tell you it is not that easy to brush it and act calm.
When I was 8 my family moved to a house that was haunted and I lived there till I was 18. We had activity going on almost every night. There were a few times I freaked out running.
Yes I could tell you many stories that happened in our house and yard that would probably send chills up your back. As to how the Zak, Nick and Aaron act, just put yourself in their place. What would you do, how would you react?
Why watch the program when you think it is a fake, I have watched other Paranormal shows and feel they are not up to par I just change the channel.
Have a gr8 day

So Biff McSpikey is getting a lot of junk thrown in his general direction. Last week, the two plumbers were the victims of a hangar toss. Twice.
Got me to thinking, since clearly, non-physical entities can manifest physical effects. What about an extermin-
ation camp like Aushwitz where perhaps more than a million innocents were murdered. Certainly there would be much “unfinished” business there.
I believe it was the bald plumber that posited a ghost could lift from 3 to 7 pounds. Whether or not he pulled this figure from his posterior, shouldn’t some of the entities at the death camp have grabbed a few rifles, jacked in a few rounds, and capped them some SS ass?
Askin’.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Askin,
Yes there sure would be a lot of unfinished business at that camp.
Also yes a ghost can lift a few pounds. I would say depending on the amount of energy they soak up from there surrounding would depend how much. I was pulled from my bed by an entity that left scratch marks on my arm at the time I weighed 115 lbs. My husband was laying next to me, I was screaming and pounding on him to wake up. He didn’t wake till it had dissipated away.
This thing pulled me a good 6 inches to the edge of the bed. This situation went on for over 2 months before I moved from that place. Today I can still see that event taking place and it still bothers me. Our mother lived in our house till she passed away in ‘93, we have since had the house knocked down and cemented over.
I would think that when those people died in that camp they were so frightened, to think about doing as you mentioned. But that was a very good question.
Maybe the GAC or TAPS crew can answer that question.

Fran:
Have you ever considered hypnagogia as a possible explanation for your experience?
November 21st, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Resume,
Thanks for your response, I had studied every aspect of our experiences. The whole family had the same or their own experiences on my parents property Hun.
Hypnagogia is regularly employed in a more general sense that covers both falling asleep and waking up, it is not always possible to assign a particular episode of any given phenomenon to one or the other, given that the same kinds of experience occur in both, and that people may drift in and out of sleep.
I was completely awake during every incident except three of them. The experience I had in New Mexico was the worst, I almost had a nervous bake down due to it. I use to sit out side all day till my husband came home. We are all sure it was an evil entity that lived there. If you would like I can write that experience down so you or others can read. During the five month time in that house I feared for my life.
Everyone who lived in our home as well as in the rental house in back by the alleyway, were wide awake when they had their experiences.
But once again that was a good question, that had been on the check list many times and discarded as reason..
FAB
November 21st, 2008 at 3:41 pm
So some of you have had expirences in your sleep? How do you know if it was just a dream or not?
I ask because the only thing I have ever had “happen” to me was a reoccuring “nightmare” when I was a little kid.
November 21st, 2008 at 4:00 pm
Hi Miana,
By the way that is a pretty name, no Hun I was awaken from sleep by sounds or feeling something. I guess I stated that wrong, sorry didn’t mean while I was sleeping i had things happen.
Lots of times I would be laying in bed listening to music when I would hear over the music a voice or feel a cold draft. That would alert me to something strange going on. My older brother had a conversation with a ghost one night, not knowing it was a ghost at first.
We had from apparitions to shadows to objects moving to knocks, flash of light and other sounds.
We were told that a 1920 bootlegger owned our house and had money he hidden away on the property some place. Not sure how true this was, we never checked it out to see. Like I said the main house along with the rental house and my grandfather’s house that were on the property have been knocked down and cemented over.
But I’m sorry to have lead you to think I was fully asleep.

November 22nd, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Good Day Everyone,
Miana Hun, how did you do with last night? I think this episode was the wildest yet. I get real nervous with their provoking, then leaving someone alone after. I wasn’t to happy that they left Nick alone locked up like that. I pray for all members of any Paranormal society as well as send energy. Only it doesn’t work unless they except it 100%, other wise it is wasted. I fully do understand the provoking since I myself have done it with my situations. In the house I lived in in New Mexico, I became frustrated and shouted out for the f** should be more brave, come out in the open and face me for a show down. To show me just how powerful it was. Lets just say it was a calm summers day until I did that. My neighbors later said the weather didn’t change but while I was in the house provoking a dust storm come up. I felt for sure I was going to see death himself. But it is a very entertaining program as is Taps. I think the lock down isn’t so much for them, yes they probably would do a run dude situation, like in the Cemetery. To me it would be to lock out others from coming in and screwing around. This way they know they should be the only ones there. I like that they don’t hold a casual conversation, which can deter them from paying close attention to their surroundings.
Enough on me, I was thinking about you the whole time the program was on. Being an adrenaline junkie, I get into these type of programs so intense. I’m trying to become a member of a Paranormal society investigator. Since I can send and receive energy, I feel I could be of some use. I’m close to an organizations that deals with this that is located in Illinois, I think there is one in Arkansas.
I hope to find one close enough to ride to, that I can split my time between it and the other organization I belong to. B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse). I was just asked to be president of a chapter in my area. I have to be close enough to respond to calls when an abuse is reported. if you want to check it out just post bacausa.com to a search page you have.

About “lock down” / Dude Run

No, I don’t think that’s the reason.
My guess is: some locations are huge, wide opened, public free…any person can come in at anytime and make unwanted sounds, confusion, disturb and interrupt filming.
Im shure the lock down is for that matter. Shurely not for preventing famous “Dude Run!” sindrome
Shure not helped in hotel to jump from 2nd floor thouhg…dear fear
November 29th, 2008 at 1:59 pm
Yes that is what I said it isn’t for them as much as to keep others out… I agree if they wanted to get out bad enough they would find away, as in the hotel jump they made… Read my comment you will see you also agreed with me on the lock down… I would imagine there are a lot of young kids out there, who would love to sneak in and freak them out… Have a haunting good day all…
November 29th, 2008 at 11:43 pm
I think the premise of the show is interesting, however it is no where near as enjoyable as Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi. First of all, Zack is a giant douche. The guy makes it hard the sit through an entire show. Secondly, TAPS goes in and shows respect to the spirits and to the field itself. They try to disprove hauntings instead of taking the slightest sound or piece of dust and calling it paranormal. As a fan of the field, I dislike the show. Sort of reminds me of an MTV version of Ghost Hunters.
November 30th, 2008 at 12:07 am
Mike:
You’re aware that the bald plumber on “Ghosthunters” was an advisor to MTV’s “Fear,” a reality show which placed contestants in alleged haunted locations and tried to “spook” them?
And really, how much debunking have he and the other plumber done lately, given the dubious shirt tug and the flying hanger? Seems like a couple of shots across the sikey one’s bow to me.
November 30th, 2008 at 6:09 am
However…
In last episode of G Adv. i was 100% sure that “dragging” sound was caused by something above them, on the streets of Edinburg. Nothing para. They not even try to thing of that possibility, or even debunking…specially because of the timing of it…5-6 minutes…whatever it is, it was too long to be paranormal i think
But still…sound from camera on TV show…is not accurate enough to recreate real hearing at the place…to them, maybe it is sounded like there. Can’t tell.
November 30th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
Mistrija:
Wasn’t trying to defend the spikey-haired one. Just pointing out that most paranormal TV shows pass off evidence that is suspicious.

i think the show is really great! i was impressed. iwould like to chat about the medium qualities most of you seem to have and also about your personal experiences that lead you to this in the first place
December 6th, 2008 at 10:12 am
Kitty13 Hi, I have watched many paranormal shows and have had my own experiences. I would have to say that this show is by far a fantastic one. Anyone can be a medium if they let their mind and energy open up and flow, also they have to be a true believer. BUT! You have to take caution when doing so that you don’t lose control. A person has to know when to send and pull back.
Well Kitty I hope you get many replies to your question, I probably didn’t help much.

They should change the title to ” The Three Stooges Go Ghost Hunting”. These three morons are just trying capitalize on the ghost hunting craze and I guess it works in a lame kind of way. Zak made a point that they are trying to prove ghosts exist but I think he is full of shit. The way they act on camera is corny and I want to know how much money they are making off the ratings. I think that Zak is the new Barnum and Bailey of ghost hunting. I am going to watch Paranormal Research Society instead and tune out the Zakmeister. PS: Hey Zak, get a haircut and take some friggin acting classes.

Make fun all you want, it is obvious there are a lot of children in here. I take it you feel that you, being a child know more then an adult who has been there. Not all of you have your heads on backward and are pretty cool. I will be leave and you won’t have to worry about me coming in again. Those of you who really don’t believe, I hope you never run into a situation that scares the $#&# out of you to makes you a believer. NO! on second thought I hope you do….

I am 51, not a child, though I have children. When they were young, I had to comfort them after frightening dreams, but they were just that. What kind of situation might I run from that would make me a believer in the paranormal? And let me caution you that I’ve had experiences that might fall into that category had I been more credulous.
Lots of stuff goes bump in the night, and I pretty much have to get up and fix them.
It’s a real pain in the a$$ to be an adult.

Resume 51 could prove it by the child like remark you mad to what I had posted. I could expect a remark like that from only a child and not a suppose to be adult. If you don’t like the show then don’t watch it. You might have had experiences, I feel you haven’t had that one main one to put you in your place.. How ever Zak and his group look or act, must be good it keeps you coming back to watch for entertainment..
Have a gr8 day…

FAB:
It was you who stated anyone can be a medium, if one opens one’s “energy” up. What does that mean precisely? What kind of energy? Make a coherent thesis statement in concrete terms. Convince me.

P.S.
I find GA emormously entertaining, high comedy.

In the age where we are searching for the God Particle and developing computers based on quantum physics, it is difficult to believe that anybody remains who is stupid enough to believe this shit.
A good reminder that, no matter how high mankind reaches, there will always be those throwbacks to our ancient beginnings who squat in front of the campfire and believe every flying spark is a ghost.

Bill:
That was a bit harsh. About four years ago, a woman I work with told me about a TV show called Ghosthunters, and after watching an episode I sort of felt the way you do: How could an adult buy into this nonsense?
Then I started doing a bit of research, and discovered that people believe for very good reasons; they had experiences they couldn’t (or didn’t want to) explain rationally. I’m not making excuses for anyone here, but one must realize how often we humans mis-
interpret events. Hypnagogia, hallucinations, combined with a bit of credulity can lead one to believe all kinds of stuff. Add a need to believe, for whatever reason, and you have a believer.
These people aren’t stupid, they’re just just engaged in confirmation bias when watching these paranormal shows. “See I told you Virginia, I wasn’t dreaming, I DID see a ghost!”
I don’t for a second believe that any of these shows are doing real research; they’re money-making machines for the networks and should be viewed as such. Sipping a beer, watching Buff McSpikey taunting a non-existent entity makes me a jolly fellow.
If you want to hone your skepticality, try Randi.org, or CSICOP.com. You’ll find not only healthy skepticism, but really cool sciency stuff.
And no, I’m not a paranormal believer, though my mind could always change given good evidence.

Hey fab if you like watching these three idiots that is totally your decision. I am truly sorry I insulted your hero Zak and his two loyal sidekicks dumb and dumber. I am just disgusted by the way they try to prove ghosts are real. I do believe in the paranormal to a certain extent and I watch a lot of shows on it. A lot of books I have read and shows I watch state that some spirits are trapped on this earth because they died a tragic death. Nope, not an expert on the topic. Just repeating a theory that I heard. Hey Fab ,let’s try a scenario. Let’s say your Aunt Matilda died by slipping on a bar of soap and lands on her temple. She died tragically in her shower cap and without any closure. She continues on between worlds smelling of BO and she can’t finish her damn shower. All of a sudden some loser with a bad haircut walks in and starts taunting her so he can prove ghosts are real and rack up more ratings so people will watch the Travel Channel. That is what the show is all about. RATINGS!!! Meanwhile, Aunt Matilda is scratching Zak and trying to get him out of there and two idiots are trying to film Zak getting scratched. They are not in Aunt Matilda’s bathroom to exorcise her or help her see the light or whatever. They are not trying to help Aunt Matilda’s son who bought the house and he’s trying to figure out why all kinds of noises are coming from the bathroom. They are not bringing in experts or scientists into Aunt Matilda’s bathroom to prove that the phenomenon Zak is experiencing is real or not. Why are they in Aunt Matilda’s bathroom??? Hey Fab,since you are the adult and I am just a twenty -nine year old child, why don’t you tell me WHY THEY ARE THERE??

Zak I love you soo much i could kill myself
December 26th, 2008 at 10:20 am
To Zak,
I sent you an email recently, but now it’s time to talk about the show. I understand that it’s hard to believe in things such as the supernatural, especially to those who haven’t experienced it. Yes, ghosts, demons, any spiritual entity (even God) may be some ridiculous notion to some. However, to others, it’s as real as the technology that we see today, or the sky that we all live under. Science doesn’t always contradict with the spiritual sides of life.
Zak and crew, I think your show is great. I don’t like imposing things on others and try to make them believe. Maybe you’re just trying to tell it how it is, show what you experience and all that. Whatever your true intentions are, that’s your personal intent. To everyone who reads this response, you have opinions, yes, but don’t condescend other people’s ideas and opinions just to get your point across. We all have opinions, we share those opinions and get feedback. That’s it, don’t hurt others in the process.
Jeez, I’m lagging on. Anyways, have to say I love the show and Aaron you’re my favorite ^-^. Good luck guys!
December 26th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Alice, I give you two thumbs up on your post… Yes I haven’t been in for a while and I see someone has left me more comments to which I will not respond… I no longer have to deal with such low opinionated jerks since I retired from law enforcement… Besides Alice you have said all that has to be said… Thank You!!!
I agree the show is fantastic… Happy New Year to Zak, Aaron, Nick and to all the fans of the show…
December 29th, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Happy New Year to everyone! and FAB it’s nice to actually get a response. Thank you so much for the response, it makes me feel good knowing someone my senior actually appreciates what I wrote. :3
Have fun everyone!

Lol, I find it funny that many haters here say things that they know shit about. First of all, the GAC team ONLY investigates locations that has been reported as very haunted – where people have been scratched, tugged, got their hair pulled. Victims (the people) have come crying to Zak while telling their story. That’s how worse it is, they only provoke spirits that do these things, just watch the goddamn show and you’ll see. Or listen to what he says on their Live Chat at travelchannel.com
Even in the Houghton Mansion, you’ll notice that he sweetens his voice because of this girl who tradegically died in a car crash. Or when Nick is alone in Bobby Mackey’s trying to contact the girl who was murdered there, he doesn’t provoke.
If you don’t believe in them, why don’t you join them on their investigaton now in January at Bobby Mackey’s country club. Or followed them at Goldfield Hotel 2 years ago(?) when 100 people attended their event and around 25 witnessed direct poltergeist activity, one man had 2 small rocks thrown at him while his battery in his camera got drained twice. Another woman got her hair pulled.
January 13th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
Just provoking the evil ones. OK, fine. No argument here. My question then would be – to what end? To give them an “extreme” taste of their own medicine? To simply prove they exist? Are there attempts made to rid the earth of them or counsel those who have been adversely affected or attacked? Does this happen maybe off-camera? Just want to be fair in asking.
You are already aware that almost without exception, each location in season one already runs some type of ghost tour, ghost hunt or otherwise promotes its hauntings, right? If you journey to “locations that (have) been reported as very haunted” then obviously that determination has already been made by those who came before you and on the surface your chances of catching something would seem to increase at such a place. I would imagine that’s pretty important if you have an audience, but….
If your mission is foremost to help people, then who’s being helped, per se? (I kind of miss seeing normal families with frightened young children being assisted by people who project a calm demeanor – remember those days? Nah, that’s not “extreme” enough.)
Oh, and IF you subscribe to the theory that provoking spirits elicits a (usually angry) response – could that then make life even more miserable for those visiting, residing or working in those places after they leave? “We pissed them off and proved they exist to our audience…peace out.”
If the answer to all this is, “hey…it’s entertaining” then that’s what it is and you have every right to enjoy it at that level.
I don’t hate anybody – I just respectfully disagree with their methodologies.
January 14th, 2009 at 1:11 am
Using concrete language and with theoretical coherence, what is a “ghost?” What are its properties, and with what equipment can we measure these? What protocol can be designed to eliminate confirmation-bias?
This is pretty much the minimum construct to pursue the scientific method.

I think that Zak Bagans, Nick Groff’s, and Aaron Goodwin’s new paranormal show show is just awesome! It is the best ghost hunting show on television. It is truly truly an adventure when they go ghost hunting. The evidence and they paranormal activity that they get and document is truly amazing! It shows that that even as amateurs in the field, they really know what they are doing. When provoking the spirits, Zak uses harshness and accusations to aggrava te te and tick off the spirit into communicating or making itself known.Sometimes he uses emotions in his provoking in order for that spirit to to to gain energy from the emotions to manifest.I think the travel channel should continue to broadcast this show because if it doesn’t, i will die and become a ghost myself and then Zak will have to come and investigate me! That’s how much i love the show and yes Zak is just about the best thing about the show.He is awesome and gorgeous and i love the way he talks and puts such drama and enthusiasm into his speaking and hosting of the show. What i think could be better, and i don’t want Zak to take this the wrong way, but if when investigating, and are trying to hear the spirits or communicate with them, that they could just speak a little less among themselves so we the audience can hear the spirits voices just a little bit better and maybe catch a voice with our ears when it happens.Other than that there is nothing wrong with their show.It is a great way for me to travel to creepy places with Zak and the guys and investigate with them in certain small and dangerous places that i myself wouldn’t normally go.I wish though that i could spend an entire evening with Zak and talk about nothing but Ghosts and the paranormal. That would be my absolute dream night of my life.I also think that as far as the issue of the lockdowns where ever they go, it is intended on the part of Zak and Nick and aaron to not only show bravery to the audience, but to also show the ghosts and spirits that they are not really afraid of them.It gives the guys a degree of confidence knowing that they can face their fears and forces them to get through what they are experiencing because they know that they have to and can’t go anywhere. They will get through it.I think the guys are awesome and the show is awesome and they don’t belong anywhere on tv with their show except the travel channel. Please don’t ever cancel the show, everyone loves it and i could’nt survive unless i could join Zak and the guys every Friday night in their investigations in some of the worlds most creepiest haunted places. They are just the greatest investigative team in my book.My wish at present and dream though is to some day meet Zak Bagans. I swear to God, I just can’t resist him.He has the most beautiful sexy eyes and beautiful strong looking arms.If i was a ghost lady, I would swirl all over him and give him the EVPs that would curl his hair.lol! Just kidding, but i do love him as a person and as a talented investigator.Keep up the good work Zak and i hope to meet you someday and you should come to memphis, Tennessee and investigate the Orpheum Theatre. It is truly haunted by the ghost of a little girl named Mary.I hope that i do win something from Zak for this comment, like an autograph or a t-shirt, or a letter, oh pixxies! who am i kidding? How about a phone call or an e-mail or a real meeting with zak.I believe in the fact that i am his biggest fan and admirer. No kidding! But i am not a crazy nut or anything, I just love him and the show.So please travel channel and zak, please remember me in your good wishes and plans for future good treatment for your #1 fan! hey it rhymes. That’s for you Zak! Happy ghost hunting.
January 25th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
No, I don’t think you’re a crazy nut.
Or anything.
February 10th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
this message is to zak, nick and aaron,
dude’s, i was just watching discovery channel and the show “a haunting” was on. i was wondering if you guys ever went to the “summer wind house”. i’m not sure what state it’s in but while i was watching the show every family member that moves in would be possesed. if you ever do attempt to go there, resite the ” armor of god”. i don’t remember what chapter and verse it’s in, but i’m sure one of your sources would know. well dude’s like i said, if you guys attempt to go there good luck and have strong faith in the lord.
February 13th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
im a fan of the show and find it to be pretty freaky at times. the documentary was probably the best “episode” in their archives, as it is the beginning of everything and firsts tend to be better than follow-ups. yeah, shit gets cheesy, zak and crew get irritating at times, but the show, to me, seems to be a lot better (not to mention more tolerable) than a lot of the crap out there nowadays.
to the haters: even if you’re only watching it for a few cheap laughs, you have to at least admit that, if forced to choose, you could take this show more seriously than travel channel’s most haunted. when i watch most haunted it’s like, “…really?” (actually i don’t even watch it… it’s used as background noise, like right now, for when i’m looking stuff up on my phone and posting comments in response to what i’ve read.
) so at least travel channel’s gotten SOME sort of clue when it comes to ghost adventures. i’d take a muscley, squealing zak over a pack of squealing brits any day.
February 15th, 2009 at 12:23 am
Given the fact Zak and his compatriots studied film-
making before their current endevor, doesn’t that lend pause
February 15th, 2009 at 9:30 am
“Given the fact Zak and his compatriots studied film-
making before their current endevor, doesn’t that lend pause”
And by that you mean? So he can’t take film-making lessons for example learning how to handle a camera, how to record the right way without making things too annoying, learning how to cut right, learning how to make 12 hours of footage into 40 minutes of TV. How to make a documentary, there are many things you learn from studying film-making.
February 16th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
What do you mean what do I mean? What don’t you understand? Do you really think these guys are making “documentaries?”
February 17th, 2009 at 6:02 am
Given the fact that they have won some awards for best documentary so… Yes I believe that.
The ones that I’ve seen the’ve won are: Grand Jury price for Best Documentary in the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival and nominated for best feature film at Eerie Horror Film Festival.
What do you mean that they can’t make documentaries?
February 17th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
Do you understand the difference between a documentary and a highly-edited propaganda piece? Fiction versus non-fiction, reality versus nonsense?
Perhaps not.
February 18th, 2009 at 7:01 am
Who said it is fiction? Have you been to a haunted house? Difference between you and me is, I’ve had some experiences, maybe not as hardcore as these guys have but it’s enough, once you experience something, you can’t go back.
“Highly-edited propaganda piece”. Where are they using propaganda? It’s not like they _want_ you to believe what they are showing.
If you seem so certain that this is fiction, why don’t you join them on their investigations, you had your chance a couple of weeks ago when they visited Bobby Mackey’s country club. They got some amazing experiences similar to the episode according to people who was with them, non-bought people if you will. If it was faked, why don’t these people expose them as frauds? Oh right, Travel Channel pays them to be quiet…
Don’t watch the show if you don’t like it. Simple.
February 18th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
Oh I like the show, find it high comedy. I’m just not as credulous as some. Would go to any “haunted” location anywhere, with my own “peeps” and see what’s what.
February 19th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Ok, i am a ghost hunters watcher, faithfully every wendesday, but i recently downloaded ghost adventure shows of my pc, i do not get the travel channel..i am SOOO tired of listening and reading peoples stupid ignorant comments about how ghost adventures are fake and there nothing like ghost hunters, and that taps would never run away or act “unprofessional ” while investigating, ok, like i said i love taps, BUT, taps also has like at least 6 people on every investigation first off, they also dont prevoke like zack does and they dont run because they always got a camera guy with them and never go off alone, why would you be afraid to do that, lol..ok, but ghost adventures friggin go off alone in some of the craziest insane places and prevoke while alone with and theres no camera guy , just them three, plus, THERE LOCKED IN, you are right GA haters, they arent anything like taps, but thats the point, like i already said, i love GH but ghost adventures is ALOT more exciting and deffinately more scary to watch, deffinately keeps you on your toes, i really think that they will sooner or later blow ghost hunters out of the water with ratings and popularity, because of the reasons i just mensioned..THE SHOW IS AWSOME, I LOVE IT, KEEPS YOU ON YOUR TOES,PLUS THEY HAVE GOTTEN BETTER EVIDENCE IN ONE SEASON THEN GHOST HUNTERS HAVE GOTTEN IN THE PAST 3 OR EVEN 4, LOL..ok maybe thats a lil exagerated, but true in its own way..LOVE GHOST ADVENTURES, KEEP IT UP FELLAS, AND “DO NOT” CHANGE ANYTHING..THANX!!. RJ

March 2nd, 2009 at 12:49 am
I like Ghost Adventures and I think Zak,Nick, Erin are very good at what they do. I wish that they had an address that I could write to them because I don,t have a cell phone nor does my printer work well. And of all three of them I like Zak the best.
March 2nd, 2009 at 1:54 am
thank you fran says, but just being honest..i cant stand when people talk trash on something and speak no facts, just irrisponsible, uneducated opinions, feel me, again i will say though, ghost hunters is a good show cause i am a faithful veiwer of them, but…they are getting kinda boring, and no GA dont just take every little piece of stuff they see and say its paranormal, if you people would actually listen to them when they talk, zack himself said, and i quote, “i dont believe in the orb subject, i believe that some lights are energy possible of paranormal, but most the time i dont use that as evidence”, and he goes on, anyway, you GA haters need to just stop being ghost hunter cheerleaders and give them three brave ass guys some credit, cause i know damn well NONE of you would beable to do the shit they do, for real for real…goodnight all.. rj
March 11th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
Hi, I love watching the show and my kids love watching it with every friday nite. I just want to say for those who don’t believe in ghost or the unknown don’t watch the show I myself love it. OH, and zak you are the HOTTEST thing on T.V.
March 14th, 2009 at 7:52 am

March 14th, 2009 at 8:16 pm
i love this show it is very scary and i think it tis the best show of paranormal stuff on tv it rules brave nuthin wrong with it!!!!!
March 19th, 2009 at 3:09 pm
I really like Ghost Adventures, because it is really intense. It is really cool that they do provoke the spirits. I have wanted to mail a letter to them, but, i havent been able to because they travel alot. Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, and Nick Groff are really good at what they do, and they REALLY should keep going, and keep exploring the haunted places of the world. And you really should make more episodes.
March 28th, 2009 at 11:51 pm
Just happened across this blog tonight and thought i would chime in an opinion or two.
Gotta start off by saying that I do enjoy the show. It has a more raw nature, to me, that I like more than GH. And this brings me to comments that Resume keeps bringing up about how they went to film school. So I’m to assume that he thinks that everyone that goes to school for film makes fiction pieces? Wrong, sir. Depending on your emphasis, you can do what ever you want. Most people in film school start out by making documentaries. Its an easy, natural way to study how they can film their surrounding evironment and piece together some of these shoots in an attempt to form a streaming flow of visual scenes that represent the ideas they are trying to relay to the audience. In fact, do you think the camera crew that works on GH didnt go to film school? Does that make there show come across as less than genuine? I myself didnt study film at my college but a lot of my friends did. They are not all directors or cinematographers, some dont deal with cameras at all, just the finances of making a film, which is probably one of the most difficult jobs I could ever wish on anyone. So drop the broken record routine about their film school experience, it lacks real merit. thanks
March 29th, 2009 at 12:13 am
Its pretty sad how much certain people in here heckle other posters by taking some posters ideas that they are sharing and trying to disect the very essence of it just because they cant understand it. Most of the time this inability to relate to others in such a way reflects on the fact that there own ideas were looked at in this manner during there adolescence. This then leads them to catagorize everyone as lesser thinkers until they can prove otherwise. What a bland life that it would be to not believe anything at all until its proof was set upon your feet. And what a vain life one leads that demands of others to do so. Your own thirst of knowledge to better your own life should be all that you need to show some consideration for your fellow “humans” . Because at the end of the day isn’t that thirst of knowledge what sets us apart from the animals over which we claim dominion.
April 10th, 2009 at 7:00 pm
I think ghost adventures is an awesome show!!! I watch it every friday night at 9. The only thing I don’t like is they show the same episodes each week. Other then that, ghost adventures is awesome!!
April 26th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
I love Ghost Adventures of all the ghost shows out there I think its the most believable (considering its just the 3 of them and not some fancy film crew) All i have to say is JUNE Hurry Your @$$ up!!!!!!!
May 1st, 2009 at 10:02 pm
I actually enjoy Ghost Adventures because it is the only ghost chasing show where paranormal activity occurs regularly. I’m not saying it isn’t fake, but at least “stuff” happens. I think Zac is extremely annoying and acts like a narcissistic idiot most of the time, but I still can’t stop watching! I’m a female, but I don’t find him the least bit attractive… I didn’t realize anyone would until I read the posts on this page!
May 22nd, 2009 at 7:56 pm
I enjoy watching Ghost Adventures because I am a paranormal investigator for TPR (Texas Paranormal Research). I love how they stay in lock-down in these haunted places over night. They try to prove to so many the existance of the paranormal. They are the most believe-able “ghost hunters” on t.v. I know that the actuall Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi are supposed to be big and stuff but I parsonally don’t like them. They are not interesting, are fake, and I don’t believe in all of there equipment that weighs more than they do. I know from a relyable sorce that they have faked some of the things that have happened on there show. Now, Ghost Adventures, I know they are real, entertaining, and I love how they do things. I hope people can see how mutch they are devoted to what they do
May 31st, 2009 at 4:47 pm

I appreciate the comments, however, there are real investigators out there, who are working IN the field (not just watching by the sidelines) and we just laugh at these jokers. They are SO out of line, with their provoking, “I’m not afraid” attitudes, and absolutely no scientific background, knowledge or proof of anything they call “evidence”. We have one team member (a new fellow, ha ha) who idolizes GA. I do not, and we have had many a laugh at GA’s expense, not because we don’t think they are nice people (they appear to be very nice people), but because of the lack of training, organization and skill as a whole, and the blatant attempts to gain fame through being ‘wild”. Everytime I watch the show on TV I want to go train them how to do an investigation. That team is one of the WORST investigative teams, in my opinion. I am outraged that the public is so starved for such trash that they feel the need to watch 3 grown men amble around like trout, out of water.Their team should be ashamed that they are (if you can call it that) out there representing good teams, such as ours, who have worked SO FREAKING HARD to establish a foot-hold in a scientific community where our course of hobby-study is often downgraded by colleagues in the scientific field. I have seen school-aged children behave better in the dark and I have seen tiny women with more gumption and real bravery than Zak mirrors on the show. Our team has spent 16 years investigating, as of this year, and it’s just a shame that folks like GA come along and just desensitize what we do, and all our hard, hard work, to the extent that our clientel has dropped. I get asked if we are like them, and I cringe. My answer is a clear, “NO!” They are making what we do look like child’s play. I know we don’t put each other down, in this field, however I can’t think of ONE good thing to say. It’s just garbage. A waste of brain-cells, a waste of good television and they are ruining the field of study, because all they do is film themselves running and screaming. I’d be so ashamed if I were them.

PS- I just thought I’d add that the Travel Channel is my favorite channel. I watch it every single day and I love the programming with the exception of two shows. One is Most Haunted, and then Ghost Adventures. I think that through TC’s desire to get good, interesting programming it has lost the concept. People will watch paranormal shows, even if it’s not wild, with screaming and frantic individuals out there who are embarassing teams on a global level.
July 17th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
I watch the show every week. I think the only way I would truly believe any of it is real, is to actually be there and experience these things in person.
I’d like to be a guest on the show to see for myself.
July 18th, 2009 at 8:17 am
Eric, I agree. But I like to take their word for it, for one time sake! And one thing more, remember that they have hosted two events where they invited people to come join them, one was at the goldfield hotel and the second was a Bobby Mackey’s. The people that were with them should have come out and say it was fake, if it were.
Anyway I love the show, can’t wait for it to come out every week.
July 19th, 2009 at 12:54 pm
Ghost Adventures is very interesting and I like the fact that they are not afraid to show their feelings or emotions, they’re not scientists just ordinary guys interested in finding out about the paranomal and they have balls to sitck it out all night at a haunted house, whether the show is fake or not it is entertaining and I look forward to seeing more shows, looking forward to a marathon some time in the near future. I also like Ghost Hunters because they are very genuine and go all out in their investigations. I see a lot similarities between Jay and Zak, both leaders and not afraid to say whats on their minds, and Nick and Grant who are calmer and cooler heads but also have balls. Both shows are good
July 19th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Ok, here’s my two cents worth. I had always been a fan of TAPS before I saw Zak and crew. I watched the original documentary on sci-fi way back and was pretty impressed. But I have to agree with some of the other posters here….in that they are becoming more dramatical each show it seems. And Zak does seem to be the one standing out. I somewhat understand taunting ghosts, but it seems a little over the top sometimes. Borderline bad acting.
I really like the show for its entertainment value, but as for a source of real hard-core evidence? I think they are shooting themselves in the foot, so to speak. More and more, the show seems to be catering to the viewing public, and not for presenting raw evidence. The investigators are all \pretty boys\, the promos and intros are all made to look like a horror movie, and I even read that they were hosting a \Bobbie Mackey Music World Tour\, where they were selling tickets to that place for ppl to come and \experience\ it for themselves? This is smelling more and more like they are preying on people psychie to make a few bucks, rather than the original documentary it came from.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:18 am
What’s wrong with charging money for hosting an event such as Bobby Mackey’s? Things costs money. Same for TAPS when they are inviting people to come join them, it isn’t exactly free to hire the whole Waverly Hills Sanatorium, not to mention possible food supply and other stuff.
July 20th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
There’s nothing wrong with raising funds. It’s the manner in which it’s done. If I recall, TAPS hosts were both plumbers on the side for Roto-Rooter. That’s a respectable, hard-working job. As for bringing people along, the only people I saw were other paranormal investigators, not radom people they charged for a ride-a-long. It’s a little different why you advertise to the general public and charge admission to a place you just investigated that is supposed to be full of demonic entities. Zak & Co. were scared out of their minds and even done physical harm to, yet they think its ok to have a ‘carnival’ at the place? Doesn’t add up.
July 20th, 2009 at 4:50 pm
What if it was the people’s choice, we requested it to go hunt with them. I think it’s very nice of GAC to have a talk with Bob Mackey if they could hire the whole place and invite strangers to go hunt with them.. well along with Bishop James, the host of Darkness Radio and the “EVP experts” Mark and Debbie Constantino.
I think it’s the best way to believe, I havn’t experienced any ghosts myself, if I had the opportunity to go and hunt with the GAC or TAPS I would love to take it. Yeah, maybe it’s a bit harsh to just drop some people together with supposed demonic entities that make harm to people, but it would be cool, admit it. It would be a hell of story back home if you get scratched by something unseen and maybe got some strange voices on your recorder, maybe even video evidence.
I’m not religious, I don’t believe in God, I’m a full atheist. I don’t even think there are demonic entities, I don’t know, maybe it’s just angry spirits, who knows. And I don’t care if what you meant with “carnival” that it would mock the spirits in any way, that’s something I don’t care about, I’d say: do whatever.
July 21st, 2009 at 1:24 pm
Oh, heck yeah, I’d be stoked to go investigate a place like Bobby’s. I’m just trying to make a point about the way in which they seem to be going about raising their funds. In my opinion, it would look much better if they took a select few people along (at their own risk), rather than advertise a ‘fright party’ to the general public a place that is supposed to be dangerous. I think they lose credibility that way.
July 22nd, 2009 at 7:12 pm
I find GA very entertaining. Zac is utterly full of BS and bravado in an amusing way. He cracks me up. Nick seems like a nice guy, and Aaron I totally sympathize with. I think the three of them are quite brave to go into some of those places, especially the really huge, crumbling old buildings with long dark corridors and and basements, etc. I don’t think I could go near such a place after dark like that, with only two other people. It takes some balls, so I’m impressed in that regard.
I find this show actually a little more credible than Ghost Hunters now, although I still enjoy both shows.
GA, with its greater spontaneity and the enthusiasm of its team, has more appeal. It also seems to offer less opportunity for “cheating”, if that kind of thing is going on on either show.
I think one thing I don’t like about either show is the way they deal with some spirits. I think sometimes they forget that they may truly be addressing the non-corporeal form of someone previously living. A real human being who is not necessarily “evil”, but just in a great deal of genuine pain. I think taunting and saying hurtful things to an entity you know very little about is not a very decent thing to do. I know the teams on both GA and GH have respect for the spirits they are searching for, but I think sometimes they respond in ways that are too cruel or thoughtless.
For instance, that Titanic ep, with the ghost who said, “No, please wait,”–the poor damn guy stuck there and needing help. Did GH ever go back to try and communicate further with this entity? Help him? Do they go back and try to help any of the entities that leave EVPs saying, “Help me”?
I think both the GA and GH teams need to take into consideration that they ARE dealing with human beings, albeit deceased. They need to be a little kinder sometimes–that might actually gain them a response more often, too. You know the saying–you can catch more flies with honey. I just feel so sorry for those poor people who are trapped and reaching out, only to be treated like lab experiments by the ghost teams.
That bothers me.
Other than that, I do enjoy GA and wish they had new shows more often. I love the EVPs especially and find them fascinating. I think the ghost translator thing, however, is a silly gimmick–funny, but silly.
But I do enjoy the team’s energy, and their strong personalities, chest-thumping bravado, and occasional attacks of sheer terror make for a fun show.

First, do not put my name in the hat for the drawing. I think if I won, then the scariest thing to me moreso than a haunted mansion, is to see these guys hanging on my wall. LOL I think for anyone that watches this show and thinks it’s real….well….let’s just say, someone has to pump gas for the rest of us. How is it that these guys go into a place, every episode, and every bump, every spec of dust flying on camera, and every noise is assumed a demon from hell? And as someone already suggested, why is Mr. Zak pissed off all the time and yelling when talking to the \spirits\? If they did exist, could they not see him or know he’s there? Apparently they don’t have trouble contacting the owners of these places while they try to sleep, so I don’t understand why he’s always trying to pick a bar fight with a \ghost\ all the time. Perhaps a steroid issue? LOL I just can’t believe someone that thinks that they are such a stud and bad-ass guy can come on national TV and make a complete fool out of himself. I do watch it and will continue to, so shame on us all on making these guys a living as we all have to struggle so hard to make a living. So kudos on them figuring out on how to make money on our fears and interest in the paranormal, but come on folks….these guys are a joke. I only watch it for the comedy factor and to build a list of haunted places that I’d like to see, because these places are documented to have paranormal activity, so that’s my only interest. It does make for some great laughs though, but my wife just can’t watch….she can’t stand to watch the attitudes and bad acting. If they would just act like normal human beings and throw in an occasional \nah, that was a bug\ or something, they could absolutely rake in on ratings and establish some credibility. Just look at all the discussion boards out there on the Internet about this show. A majority of folks know it’s fake and have a \hate to love it\ mentality, but we keep watching. Just think of how many they could reel in if Zak would tone it down and stop the over-dramatic whining and the supposedly getting possessed every 4th show. He either has an amazing ability to attract ghosts and spirits more than anyone in the world (and on cue), or he’s doing some serious medication.
Have fun people. See you at the gas pumps. LOL
August 27th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
This guy Zak Bagans is an idiot!!! He is so insulting to the world of paranormal. His education level shows everytime he speaks! He sounds like a stupid punk who is absolutely clueless. Even my 8 year old boy thinks he’s a moron!
His idiot sidekicks are just as bad.
August 28th, 2009 at 12:04 am
That is an awesome, and very true assessment. That character just demeans himself everytime he opens his mouth.
Not one single one of them has any training at all.
I can debunk EVERY SINGLE PIECE of their evidence, with the exception of the brick in the basement that flies off on its own.
August 28th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
I love your show so much and I watch it every Friday and it is so cool and the rest of my family thinks I’m nut because I like to watch scary crap and I think that it’s just so funny and that I just admire you guys so much that my mom asked me that if I had a chance to go on the show with you people that would I and I said ya with out a doubt that’s how much I watch your show lol she thought that I was nuts
August 28th, 2009 at 5:58 pm
Oh yah and Zack your HOT!!!!!!!!! and I mean on fire you have such huge mussels oh my god do you like work out or what
September 12th, 2009 at 1:56 am
Zak, your narcissism is off the richtor. SHHHHHSSSHHHing everyone else just to hear yourself talk. Your taunting is pretty lame too.
the show would be good without you
September 12th, 2009 at 5:04 pm
I just wish that those guys could contol their dirty language while they are there. There are sooo may \BEEPS\ that I find it irritating. I hate background music for effect just as much. I realize that they are excited (maybe a little too much?)but, hey, stop the foul language so that the network doesn’t have to go behind you and mess up a great shot with all those loud \beeps\. Maybe we all could hear what you just heard if you weren’t using the \f\ word so often. It isn’t very professional to lose contol over your own mouth.
October 23rd, 2009 at 2:08 am
I love everything about the show.
Ghost Hunters is no fun anymore since Grants fake jacket pull. Just not as into the show anymore. Extreme Paranormal is totally gay, Ghost Lab is boring.
Ghost Adventures keeps your attention, finds great evidence, and the big one for me is that it is ONLY the three guys and not fifteen other camera and sound guys walking around.
I like seeing the real reactions. They shouldnt have to “filter” their emotions to be more politically correct. There is no other show like theirs and I like it that way because the other show are lame (Well, I do like Paranormal State, too, but NOT AS MUCH! lol).
November 14th, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Grant’s fake jacket pull? Are you kidding me? And Zak’s demon possession of last night’s show is legit? No, I haven’t been watching, I just happened to be flipping channels last night and stumbled across this slew of comedy as I watched Zak “get possessed” and cussed out his whole crew. Times are tough, they must be getting desperate. If they had ANY credibility before, it’s gone now and although I did watch occasionally for the entertainment value, that was just so fake that it was no longer entertaining….so it held me for about 1 minute and 48 seconds. Too bad….you would think that if these guys are intelligent enough to get on a major network and operate a camera, they should understand the human psyche and be a bit more subtle to reel in more viewers. But I guess when you have fans like Allysha that can’t even spell MUSCLES…..well….let’s just say I wish i had a girl like that have a crush on me so that I can take advantage of their stupidity and get everything I want from here. LOL Unbelievable. They even spelled her name wrong…shouldn’t it be Alicia? Can I have your number sweetheart? i’d love to take you out. I have “mussels” too….i guess you like seafood, no? LOL
November 24th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
Ok everyones comment above mine say they are the biggest fan or they don’t like him well I want to set things straight I AM THE NUMBER ONE FAN OF ZAK BAGANS AND I THINK THAT HE IS REALLY HOT I MEAN SMOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But you guys who hate him you guys need to suck it up and get a life because he isn’t going anywhere
December 5th, 2009 at 2:19 am
zak get a nose job it looks huge on tv
December 5th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
First of all, I gotta say that I don’t believe a bit of the evidence produced on this show is credible. Most (if not all) has been faked (including the flying brick, I could so that with fishing line and a bungee cord). Loved the Tesla coil guy on your Halloween special.
However, I do watch it as it is very entertaining. As one commenter above said, it IS like the Three Stooges go ghost hunting. Aaron, if you’re reading this, please do one show where you go woowoowoowoo the next time you take off at that “unexplained” noise.
December 19th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
When the show first started it was pretty cool and I liked it allot!
Now! Zack Bagan has become a real asshole to Arron and to Nick.. For God Sake Zack get rid of those Baggy Teenagers Pants and loose the NASTY ATTITUDE! What makes me real crazy they take 45 minutes of the show on a bunch talking and some over the top theatrical crap and give us only about 15 minutes of actual INVESTIGATING! To many commercials ! I want more Investigating and less of the other Crap! Lets face it Zak Bagan you are no match for a real Ghost or Demon.. More Show Zak! Less Nasty Attitude and stop the theatrical stuff and less commercials! Stop pumping your arms so huge! Do not let this go to your head Zak Bagan and treat Arron and Nick with allot more respect or you are going to loose allot of viewers and I am one of them!
December 27th, 2009 at 8:15 am
Zack, Arron and Nick are like a Paranormal 101 FAMILY. Every family has to have a leader, Zack you do a great job! Nick, Arron you guys make me laugh. Which laughter is a good thing, when ever you can get it!
Just hope you guys don’t get so big, you forget your fans. Like (T.A.P.S.)
Cos without fans following you…what have you really got?
Keep up thee good work guys…I’ll always be watching~!!!
December 27th, 2009 at 11:17 am
Zak. This season ( 2009 ) was a total BUST on your ghost chasing… I do not care about watching you eating Hamburgers on your show..I do believe you are now adding some “Acting” ( Not Real ) events to increase ratings… Bad Move! Your fans can spot the fake! I still wach your show but not with the excitement anymore because your acting is over done! Hate the swearing ( Bleeps) all the time! Stop the Maucho Crap!
Bring the Zack Back from five years ago….. Lets do less pre talking to people and less commercials and more investigatings…. How about doing like TWO nights at one place each time??? Please wear pants that do not look like potato saks.
January 2nd, 2010 at 2:29 am
on the italain iland zack is in the feild has on doctors mask. nick tells him to stop and listen. zack turn and looks to see whats behind him. right then the most well defined full body aporition run right bye him its so fast if you blink will miss it they did its the scariest thing ive ever seen
January 3rd, 2010 at 6:01 pm
I think that overall, the show has a lot of entertainment value to it, but certain elements take away from the actual “investigation.” For instance, Zak always seems to be in the front in the lead. Yes, I know he is the host, but if all he wants the audience to see is himself, he should be the only one there. Also, he seems to put more emphasis on the fact that they are facing a dangerous situation rather than investigating.
I think the show would be better to watch if he let the other two have a little more spotlight and if it was more focused on the paranormal. Also, it would be cool if the guys went and visited woodland cemetery in Ironton, OH. There’s a statue on a grave that is rumored to be haunted, and I would love to see what they think.
January 4th, 2010 at 3:01 pm
I always heard, sitting on the side line and judging is EASY~!
There are “Leaders” and “Followers” have been since the beginning of time.
Zak’s skills and Nick and Aaron’s techniques is what makes thee show….NOT SO MUNDANE~
If they went by a book. There show would be AS LAME as thee other “Ghost Hunting” shows.
It takes ALL KINDS…Verity will ALWAYS be good!
At Lest they are NOT bring in their PERSONAL life, onto thee show. Like the other ghost hunting shows DO!
Viewers are there to watch others hunt Ghost…We could give a crap less about what goes on other wise.
We have ENOUGH REALITY TV~
Get off Zak’s back…Their evidently doing SOMETHING right~!!
January 4th, 2010 at 6:57 pm
I can see by the comments on here is that the biggest seller of there show is Zak Bagan’s BODY! All the Women and Gay Men seem to drool over him! There is an old saying and that is “SEX SELLS” ! That is way it goes in entertaiment! Look at th Vampire Shows! They can not act but boy do the Women and Gay Men make there ratings soar not matter how crappy they are! You know Zak Bagan also is a Major in Film Making and Acting!!! Leader you say? Not even! Just a nasty mouth asshole to Nick and Aaron…After five years why have we not seen a full body spirit??? Only thing close is the walking ghost in Nevada….Why is it when Nick said he saw the Women Patient In the nut house the cameras just freezed at that moment so we could not see the Ghost! I believe it was just acting and no Ghost! When Zack talkes to the people who have SEEN GHOST that they actually see them in full form…
After five years why have they not catched a Full Formed Spirit on camera ??? Orbs! Big deal! Show us a Ghost that is in full form as they were in life! If zack Bagan wants off the wall ratings he should do a show in just a pair of Bikini Swim wear! Maybe a horny Ghost would come into view!! Nick also! Not Aaron! TO SHY!
January 5th, 2010 at 12:35 pm
Boneyard Bytch makes a good point that it is easy to judge the guys based on the 45 minute segments we see them in. However, the dominant view here seems to be that Zak is an attention whore. It’s not just about him. It’s GHOST adventures, not the lets all stare at Zak show. Jesus. Get a life. Not like anyone who comments on some website is ever really gonna have a chance with him anyway.
January 9th, 2010 at 4:30 am
I LOVE this Ghost Adventures I watch pretty much every show on TV that has to do with ghosts or paranormal but this is one of my favorites i got my mom and my sis to watch with me and we all love it we each have our favorite mom loves Zak i like nick and my sis favors Arron i don’t think they could get any better not only do they get really good evidence of ghosts but they are funny as hell Zak’s all I’m not afraid of you but he gets just as afraid as Arron and nick one of the reasons that they get the evidence is because they provoke but Zak picks on Arron a lot but at the end of the show it pays off i hope they are on air a long time and continue to get the goods they rock
and Nick is the hottest

Last night I watched the A.Mansion and I have never seen such a BUST!
First of all you may get to view 15 or 20 Minutes of the actual show itself if you are lucky!
The rest of the time is COMMERCIALS REPEATING OVER,AND OVER,AND OVER, AND OVER AGAIN!
I was about ready to throw my shoe at the Monitor! I am sick of the 45 Minutes of advertisement and 15 Minutes of the Show!!! Travel Channel you SUCK!!!!!

It’s funny to hear people complain about this show–and yet of ALL the ghost-hunting shows currently on television, you have to admit this is by far the most entertaining, and that is due to the personalities involved.
Zak, Aaron, and Nick may have their good qualities and not so good qualities, but they make this an hour worth watching. C’mon, you know it’s their excitement and bravura and dorkiness that make Ghost Adventures fun. When Zak is over-the-top with provoking the ghosts or Aaron is nervous, they’re both fun to watch, and Nick is a good calming balance between the two of them.
And for all the posters here who are making derisive comments–it just comes off as sounding petty and jealous, guys. Seriously–how many of you have the sheer nerve to go into places like this in the dead of night with only two other people? I, for one, would be scared out of my mind.
So before you go knocking these guys for some of the dumb things they say and do, remember how you might react in the same situation. Also remember, if these guys watered down their personalities to suit your tastes, this show wouldn’t be nearly as much fun to watch.
Also I think these guys end up with more evidence because they engage the spirits that have been shut up alone too long in these places. I think the guys need to sometimes remember that even those spirits they dub “evil” were once human beings who were simply too damaged by life and haven’t been able to redeem themselves. I don’t buy all the demon stuff, but I do love all the evps this show collects. EVPs are the most fascinating evidence.
Other than that, my only complaint about the show is that I, too, would like to see fewer interviews and more time exploring the places, themselves. Otherwise, I love this show and I’m looking forward to the next batch of episodes. I hope that’s soon!
February 7th, 2010 at 3:58 am
This guy Zak is beyond a douche bag. When, in all his world travels and ghost hunting, does he have to to hit the gym and find shirts two sizes too small. This show is the illegitimate child of Scooby Doo and Bill and Teds Excellent Adventures. This guy gets worked up over nothing and exagerates so poorly that the show should be on Comedy central. Hey Zak- stop using your “electromagentometer” and faking sounds that aren’t there and take some acting classes, toilet crust. If there was such a thing as ghosts, they’d spare us all and slime you- oh wait…. Looks like your hair already did.

@ Resume
I know it’s a while ago since you last posted your questions, but for some reason I feel the need to answer them. I could present you with tons of what I believe it evidence of the paranormal, but I don’t think you will believe it. It is impossible to fully convince someone that entities, poltergeists and orbs excists. Unless someone has witnessed/expierenced something that is completely not be explained, one can believe in the paranormal. You’ve heard noises you said, which could lead up to the paranormal. ‘Thing’s that go bump in the night’; I agree, that could just be caused by some disturbement. The object being placed in such an angle it could fall anytime, a draft from an open window, a mouse in the house. I have alot of noises in my room, but my stove was making all those noises. However, I once put an evp recorder in my room, and when listening to it the following morning I very clearly heard a voice saying quiet. I let my dad listen to it (a ‘non-believer’) and he said he could clearly recognize his fathers voice in it (who passed away when I was not yet born). My door opened all of the sudden. I tried to find a logical explanation for it, but there just wasn’t one. The windows where locked, so the wind couldn’t have opened it. The door was tightly closed, so it couldn’t have swinged open due to the fact I had not closed it properly. It was in the summer, on a very, very hot day I was in my room checking my mail and I feel a very cold chill passing right by my. My windows and door where closed, so it wasn’t the wind. All these things have led me to believe that my room is haunted. Feelings of being watched, chills, voices etc. However, even when telling you this and I don’t believe I am able to convince you that spirits do excist. And that is not my intent. It’s like believing in God. You do or you just don’t
