  1. Will this be the week some pi**ed-off entity slaps the bejeebus out of Buff McSpikey?

    Hope so.

  2. Okay, better yet. I’d love love to be “locked down” in any location Buff might suggest. With my chosen “peeps.”

    Wherever, whatever’ ain’t scairt.

    Sayin’.

  3. I soooo want to go there. The house I grew up in in L.A. Cali had a couple entities there. I have also witnessed some other things at other places. so I am naturally, very interested in things of this nature.

That shadow hand that comes out by Zakk is pretty damn crazy. especially with that little energy bolt thing flying towards him at the same time.

Love the show guys, keep it up!

  4. Jay:

Once again I’d like to point out Zak and Aaron were film students, well aware of how to create drama.

  5. Any investigator who is NOT an idiot knows you do NOT provoke entities, especially if you suspect there might be negative ones around. “Buff McSpikey”, a.k.a. Obnoxious Tight T-Shirt Super-pec Boy, is constantly “daring” them, in true neanderthal fashion, like he wants to start a fight at the local mall. Then screams like a girl when he gets a response (did you see him scream and kick his feet in the dirt when he heard a scratch on the wall near him in that underground cell one episode?). This is nothing but a group of thrill-seekers that do not know what they’re playing with, ESPECIALLY short-tempered, control-freakish, so-called tough guy Zak. I predict he will be oppressed with negative beings following him around the rest of his life. You’ll see.

  6. “Extreme” ghost hunting. Guess we should have seen that coming. Can’t wait to see the next generation of imitators waving gizmos around and calling spirits out to punch them in the face. Rock on.

Meanwhile a more serious, rational paranormal community fights to be accepted and taken seriously.

    I know it’s just a TV show, but…..’ya know?

  7. Jay:

Before you and others go there please note that you’ll have to get permission to investigate. The Essex County Sherrif’s Department has made it very clear that trespassers WILL be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent. As a matter of fact, there have been at least several arrests made in just the past month.

So please folks, get permission before you trapsing around there!

  8. I believe the NJ asylum you featured is greystone, a great great uncle of mine lived there in the early 1960’s I have a picture.

  9. Brenda:

The photo that you see is a view of the old Essex County Hospital coming down Bloomfield Avenue in Verona. I live not 10 minutes away and see the scene almost everyday.

One can still drive through the grounds as the hospital is located along Fairview Ave. However, I wound not recommend stopping to tour!

The buildings at Greystone (which is in Morris County) were, I believe, built around the same period and quite similar in design. So it would be easy to mistake one for the other.

  10. Yeah it is definitely Overlook in Cedar Grove…check out this link http://tinyurl.com/cpzdqq and compare it with the building pictured 7 seconds into the promo

  11. This dude drives me crazy, they’re all a bunch of girlie geeks

  12. Buff’McSpikey, that’s hilariously appropriate, he’s such a douch bag

  13. Does anyone know what the real name of the asylum is???

  14. Hi, my name is Christal Iam part of a group called JPW Pranormal Group we are a family operated group of six members. W e have investigated many places like Rolling Hills, Shanley Hotel,Private residents,We also did the Tamarrac Lodge of Greenfield NY. We would like to come and investigate the Northern New Jersery Aslyum with your permission. Our e-mail address is jpwparanormalgroup@yahoo.com. could you please let us know if we can.

    Thank-you for your time,JPW

  15. Essex County Hospital, Cedar Grove, near Verona, New Jersey. check the pictures on http://www.abandonedbutnotforgotten.com. I’m no expert so I can’t be sure and the dates that the historian Bob Williams said don’t match. I’ll let you be the judge. Between the footage in the show and these pictures… it looks the same to me.

  16. Its grey stone aslyum… The main website for the place has pictures of the tunnels that they go into in the show. SUPER CREEPY though.

  17. Squatch is correct. If you watch the episode again after thier interview with the guy who takes the daytime picture of the orb…….. they do 3 quick shots of the hospital. The final picture is a towerish looking building with a smoke stack. If you look in squatch’s picture the same building is on the far left :)

I m from NJ and we love our asylums.
