As usual BSPHI has compiled a terrific report with a lot of historical information, maps, photos and captured EVPs. We love how they set up their EVPs where one has the opportunity to listen and then verify what you have heard with what they think they hear.
Ryan Buell sent us an email (OK it was just a mass email because we go to the PRS forums from time to time ) that they have begun posting the evidence collected from Paranormal State.
They have just a few pages up but one report contains some captures from their use of a “Frank’s Box”. It’s from the episode The Asylum.
To tell you the truth we think that this one we captured with BRAINS is better. We asked for the color of my shirt and it appears we got a lot of wild guesses.
First the raw file.
Then here it’s edited with noise and dead spots removed.
Did you hear any color names? Perhaps just lucky as there are lots of radio waves flying out there at any given moment. And for sure color names should be common words said. It’s just anecdotal but I did take some random recordings later and didn’t get anything similar. For us it gets put into the interesting category. It’s fun to play with.
Leon and I headed up to the Green Room at 10:30pm and went and sat on the floor against the wall. We took base readings and started our EVP session. As I was taking temperature readings, I found a cold spot that was 72F but later determined that it was a false positive due to the air turning on. Leon and I heard what sounded like footsteps in the hallway. I had also noticed major battery drainage on my handheld camcorder. It had a full charge before heading upstairs but noticed once I entered the Green Room I had less than half charge, not only did I have battery drainage, but two of my voice recorders were turned off.
Their report includes some captured EVPs, make sure you give them a listen.
There had been reports of a stuff cat being moved in one of the upstairs bed rooms. Two of the investigators decided to relocate the cat to see if they could get it to move. They placed the cat on top of a pillow on the bed next to the headboard and left the area. The next group entered the room about 10 minutes later. After asking them about the cat they said “When we left that room, the cat was sitting right below the pillow. On it’s stomach. I was the last person to leave that room before meeting up with everyone else to use the mini-box.” When the first two investigators went back upstairs to tear down the equipment they found the cat about 10 inches away from the pillow laying on its side. We had a camera pointing down the hallway with the only access to the room and there had been no on in that room since the second group left. How the cat got moved not just once, but twice, we don’t know.
Some really interesting EVPs also captured. Check them out.
Keystone Paranormal has put up a page about their last visit to the Knickerbocker Hotel in May. We are not sure how long the article has been up but it includes coverage from a local TV station WICU TV Channel 12 in Erie Pennsylvania.
The videos on the page from the local TV station are nicely done. Including a nice interview with Peg the owner of the hotel which she tells us of one of her personal experiences in the hotel. And an interview with Keystone Paranormal. Check them out.
It’s a moonlit Saturday night at the Knickerbocker Hotel in Linesville and Leo Glenn is there, hunting ghosts. CLICK FOR VIDEO Some people may think it’s a strange way to spend a weekend night, but for Leo, it’s nothing new.
“My dad was a paranormal investigator.” he said. “While most kids were playing baseball and watching TV, I was on ghost hunts and investigating UFO sightings.”
Leo is a member of the Keystone Paranormal Team. They have members from throughout Northwestern Pennsylvania. They will spend the entire night here, using thousands of dollars in equipment, looking for evidence of ghosts.
“I think I can speak for all of us. We’re all kind of natural skeptics.” said Glenn. “But we’ve all experienced enough to believe that there’s something more than just somebody’s imagination.”
The article includes some possible EVPs you can listen to, we suggest the use of head phones. Nice job Keystone Paranormal.
The report is based upon the Hardin County Pioneer Village in Kenton, Ohio. They include a lot of history of the property with pictures of the buildings.
Please check out an interesting photo they captured. Here is how they describe it:
We are on the fence about the below picture. It was taken in the school house while only two investigators were present. Both investigators were standing in the back of the room while this photograph was taken toward the front of the school. Were not sure if it is a light reflection or possible something paranormal. We are displaying it here for the viewers opinions:
And listen to the EVPs as they are good. We suggest headphones to hear them best.
Long Island Paranormal Investigators (L.I.P.I.) recently returned to the Rolling Hills Asylum in Bethany, NY for a second investigation. You might remember the Rolling Hills Asylum from an episode of Ghost Hunters from 2005. The highlight of their experience at the asylum is when Jason and Grant do thermal readings in the basement, a heavy metal door closes and traps Jason. When Jason returns to investigate the door, it shuts on him again — but he can’t figure out what has caused it to move.
The Carroll Area Paranormal Team (CAPT) recently investigated a private home in Callendar, Iowa. The team acted fast on this request as it involved two kids.
From their report some of the reported paranormal activity:
Full body apparition in a machine shed.
Rotten egg smells on the second floor.
Figures in the dining room.
Trash can moving into the middle of the kitchen floor.
There is a ton of information about the prison in their report including the fact that at over 250,000 sq ft it is larger than Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Here are some of the personal experiences:
Three investigators reported that they all had the feeling of being followed at the same time. A strange light was captured in a photo at the same time.
Investigator claimed to have seen a ‘dark figure’ dash into a cell.
Battery drain was reported by three different people
Several areas were reported to have an ‘uneasy feeling.’
Foot steps were reported being heard in the wardens living area.
We love the way BSPHI puts their reports together. Their EVPs are not labeled what they think they say they are so it gives you a chance to listen to them first and form your own opinion. Plus they have raw and enhanced versions and explain what enhancements were done. Finally they supply a “widget” on the page that you can click to see what they think the EVP is saying and what classification they give it. Very nice work.
