TV.com has a nice interview with Eric Kripke. Eric Kripke is the creator of “Supernatural”, which is currently taking on break from the CW schedule.

What was the overall theme for season three? How would you describe it as different from the previous two?

Season three was and is this “wartime season.” It was the season that I personally have been waiting for, where there are a lot of really big story triggers that we pull, and a lot of big mythology triggers that we pull. And it was the season with which really all hell breaks loose–very literally–in which these hundreds of demons are unleashed upon the American landscape. Sam and Dean and other kind of sweaty, frightened, scared, outgunned hunters out there, all have this war on their hands. And [the question for them is] how do you fight it? And what did that mean for Sam and Dean? Very specifically, Dean has a year to live, and we’re not entirely sure if Sam is 100 percent Sam, and that Sam is truly all right or is he going to become something else? He has this sort of dark destiny that we’re toying with, or that we ask on the show whether or not he’s going to fulfill.

And if he does, what does that mean for Dean, and are Dean’s obligations towards his brother to save him or to stop him? And so that really becomes sort of the central questions of this season.

We’re really aiming for a more epic, more intense season as we’ve just escalated into this nationwide war, but all very beneath the surface. It’s a war, but it’s a secret war. It’s never one you’d see on the six o’clock news, but it’s there nonetheless. And there are these very select group of soldiers who have to fight it.

Hopefully he can get back to it sooner rather than later. The writers strike is having an impact on this show. If the strike takes too long to solve then a show like this may just fade away.

Tonight at 8PM Eastern Crossroads Paranormal Radio welcomes Tom Carr and Russ Larson.

You can reach their radio page here. When the show starts just click THE LISTEN LIVE button (before the show starts you will see a countdown timer showing you how long until the show starts).

Tom Carr and Russ Larson are from Wasatch Paranormal Investigators and Paranormal USA (paranormalusa.org).

Update: Tom and Russ are from paranormalusa.org (link above is fixed), not paranormalusa.com.

Interestingly the “contact” email at Paranormal USA (paranormalusa.com) is Chip Coffey. I wonder if this is the same person that has been on the new Paranormal State show. We have to admit that the Chip Coffey from the show made up laugh when they were in Syracuse interacting with the demon when he said “The power of Christ compels you”. Not that what he said was funny, it just reminded us about that scary movie from the 70’s.

I guess the best way to find out if it is the same Chip Coffey is to listen tonight.

Crossroads Paranormal Radio will open the phone lines during the show and if you would like to call in during the live show to ask a question you can do so at (718) 664-6502. You can also chat live with them during the show in their chat room.

Ryan Buell and his new show “Paranormal State” has caused quite a stir this last week. By both critics and by people based upon their comments.

I have to agree that the first two episodes shown this week has probably justified these comments. They have definitely not highlighted the scientific evidence gathering portion of their investigations. Maybe this is because gathering and finding this evidence is hard. It’s much easier to rely on dreams about demons and psychic intuition than finding compelling evidence.

The State.com has this new interview with Ryan Buell. Here is an interesting snippet:

What’s the most disturbing experience you’ve been involved in with PRS?

Well, a few years ago, I was contacted by a prominent family and the Roman Catholic Diocese to work on a demonic case. … We went into this house — I mean, blood on the walls, crucifixes bending, voices. One of my investigators got scratched by an unseen force. We have it on film. Claw marks on her forehead. … It was a very life-changing experience. Ultimately, it led to a church-sanctioned exorcism.

This might be a pointer to where this series is going. If the show is about making a name for oneself or to make some money or to differentiate from the other shows out there, then it might explain why they made such a big deal about this demon.

I’m ready to give them the benefit of the doubt. The people they have tried to help seem very convincing and it appears they have helped them. Thats a good thing.

The Times of South Carolina has a nice article about the Georgetown Paranormal Society (GPS).

These men take what they do seriously. As paranormal investigators, they investigate (for free) claims of haunted homes or buildings claims, Williams explained, that they set out to disprove.”People wonder if there is something after this life. We look at that in a scientific way and take an approach based on a lot of on site research and data collection,” he said. “We want to educate the public about phenomena that happen in the home.”And the research involves much more than a quick sweep of a residence or building. When GPS members investigate a “haunted” place, Williams said they take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours of video and audio recordings. After the on site data collection is finished, there’s even more work to be done. The investigators then review the evidence logging everything “down to sneezes and coughs,” Kopcho said to see if there’s evidence of paranormal activity. When the last bit of audio/video has been examined, Kopcho added, he and the investigators try to “explain what went on without naming it paranormal.”"Most of what’s seen and heard has some sort of logical explanation,” he explained. And “debunking” haunted homes and buildings is something GPS members have done a lot of since the society opened its doors a year ago.

Kudos to this group for taking the approach that they do take. Being a recent society they may have been influenced by the “Ghost Hunters” as they appear to want to debunk a haunting first before jumping to conclusions as TAPS does. It’s much harder for critics and skeptics to attack effectively when a group works like this group does.

Nice interview with Jason and Grant from the Ghost Hunters TV show.

Q: And you’re still plumbers?

Grant: We still work for Roto-Rooter. No matter what show, no matter how good it is, its going to get canceled sooner or later. We’re sticking with a field that will always be needed. People aren’t going to go back to outhouses now.
