In case you have not heard yet, Ryan Buell from Paranormal State is now making a feature film called American Ghost Hunter.
Mr. Buell writes:
The Movie. I’m am proud and excited to finally deliver the news that Chad Calek and I are in production for an upcoming feature film. That’s right, a movie. It is about the journeys we face as paranormal investigators, where we come from, and the people affected along the way. We will confront a life-long haunting that has terrorized so many, and hopefully, win the war that we’ve been fighting for so long.
The entire journey is being filmed and soon you will be able to come along with us.
This is something that Chad and I are doing together and that we have complete control over. We believe in it so much that we turned down offers to have it bought and produced by a third party. This is something we decided needed to be done ourselves. It’s a privilege to be doing this with my friend, Chad.
The first teaser trailer is finally here and I’ve posted it below. The official movie site is also live, where you can learn more info about the movie itself, as well as watch web-documentaries that document the entire process.
We’ve been blessed with the support of a loyal and ever-growing fanbase, so we can’t wait to hear what you think. Please spread the word and leave us feedback.
Ladies and gentlemen, I’m honored to officially announce, “American Ghost Hunter.”
Soldier on!

The Selma Times-Journal is reminding all of us that tickets are still available for the Haunted History Tours of Central Alabama. The event takes place this Friday and Saturday October 17-18 2008. From the article:
Also, Central Alabama Paranormal Investigations will demonstrate the art of peering into the paranormal. Johnny Cummings, who conducts the investigations with others, said many people have the wrong idea about paranormal investigations from watching television.
“That’s not the way it is,” he said.
People who take part on the Cahawba tour will work with sophisticated equipment designed to measure the presence of entities or ghosts. For example, CAPI uses an electromagnetic field meter to measure possible spikes when an apparition attempts to manifest or communicate. Additionally, CAPI uses temperature gauges that will measure “cold spots” when spirits are present. Cummings explained that entities do not have their own energy, so they take energy from other areas — the reason for the need for temperature gauges.
The article has a typo on the phone number to get tickets and information. The number is 1-800-45-SELMA which works out to be 1-800-457-3562. Or locally it’s 334-875-7241. Tickets are $15 and you must be at least 12 years old.

The Santa Barbara Trolley Company has started a new tour today called Haunted Santa Barbara.
The tour has stops to places like the George Ogle House, Chumash Burial Grounds, the Old Mission Cemetery, Lincoln House, Lobero Theatre, and the Covarrubis Adobe.
Tours at 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM, nightly.
I was a little surprised to find out a trolley looks like a bus! But I guess a classic trolley that I had in mind are pretty hard to come by these days.

The Lobero is California's oldest, continuously operating theatre. Originally founded in 1873 and rebuilt in 1924, it is recognized as one of Santa Barbara's architectural jewels and a State and City landmark.
On Washington’s Birthday 1873, Jose Lobero (born “Giuseppe” in Genoa, Italy) opened California’s only opera house south of San Francisco on the site of an old wooden schoolhouse at Canon Perdido and Anacapa streets. It featured a suspended horseshoe balcony and could seat 1,300. At the time of its opening, the Lobero was the largest adobe building in California and soon established itself as the cultural heart of Santa Barbara.

There is a new Ghost Tour available to the public in New Bern, North Carolina.
The tour is conducted by a couple Joe and Joyce O’Callahan who are history and paranormal buffs. From an article in the Sun Journal
The O’Callahans tell people a young girl named Dorothy moves things around and the outline of a person has been seen sitting in the balcony at the New Bern Civic Theater on Pollock Street. Some people told the O’Callahans they hear music on the second floor of the James Bryan House on Pollock Street. Another told of seeing a group of people dancing the Minuet in the house.
Sounds interesting, so if you are in the area check it out sometime.

Yes it does seem some politicians are ghost-like. They usually are transparent, say things that you can’t hear with your own ears, and are hard to track down when you really want them.
But thats not the point of this opinion piece in the Enterprisenews.com.
Middleboro selectmen didn’t spend a whole lot of time Monday debating whether a ghost haunts Town Hall, but every minute they did spend on the topic was a minute wasted.
Maybe town officials need a distraction from the debate over whether to fundamentally change the character of the town by bringing in a massive casino complex. But ghosts? That verges on the ridiculous.
Middleboro has a lot on its plate with the casino matter, budget problems and a host of other topics. It doesn’t need Casper the Friendly Ghost on the agenda, along with serious issues.
It’s interesting how “ghosts” have become so mainstream that they are now argued in a political sense. We suppose they have a point of view that others will agree. These board members are spending time on issues that they view trivial.
We don’t know the motivations of this particular board but often these “ghost” items on their agendas have an economic factor with them. This particular investigation has been written about by several media outlets creating quite a bit of stir.
Here are a few articles:
WBZ-TV
Taunten Daily Gazette
Patriot Ledger
We don’t know about you but we have never heard of Middleboro, Mass before and live only a state away. Perhaps we will visit someday to see this Town Hall and spend a little money there. Maybe thats what this town board is hoping happens.
