A really great lineup of speakers will highlight the first paranormal convention to be held in Louisiana. The convention named Le Festival D’Esprits has scheduled Todd Sheets, Kalila Smith, Loyd Auerbach, Kristyn Gartland and John Zaffis.
Todd Sheets is a filmmaker.
Kalila Smith researched and wrote the material featured on Haunted History Tours of New Orleans’ Ghost, Vampire and Spellbound tours. She also authored “Searching for Spirits” and “Miami Ghosts, Legends and Mysteries”.
Loyd Auerbach is a professor of parapsychology and a prominent field investigator in psychic phenomena. We have listened to interviews with Mr Auerbach and always have been impressed.
Kristyn Gartland is a member of TAPS and appears on the Ghost Hunters. She runs a Paranormal 101 class and currently has some scheduled for this month.
John Zaffis has over thirty years of experience studying and investigating the paranormal. He has worked for and with his aunt and uncle, Ed and Lorraine Warren. So Mr. Zaffis has worked cases of possession and exorcism.
The convention is hosted by Louisiana Spirits Paranormal Investigators.

Everyday Paranormal will be at the 37th annual Texas Folklife Festival on the grounds of the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio, Texas. The festival runs from June 13-15, 2008.

The folks from Everyday Paranormal will have a booth so if you are in the San Antonio area please stop by and say hello to Brad, Barry, Hector, Steve and the rest of the team. They will be located by the haunted Castroville Hearse. Make sure you ask them about the spooky evidence collected in the hearse.
I’m also sure they will tell you about their investigation at the Myrtles Plantation if you ask them nicely!

Darkness Radio is presenting a two night investigation at the Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Waverly Hills is located near Louisville Kentucky and the event occurs July 27-30, 2008.
Also attending will be some great speakers. These include Chris Fleming from Dead Famous, John Zaffis, Chip Coffey from Paranormal State and his upcoming show Psychic Kids, Patrick Burns from Haunting Evidence and Adam Blai.
Additional speakers are Mark and Debby Constantino who specialize in EVP research. We have listened to an interview with the Constantino’s on Beyond Reality with Jason and Grant. Scotty Roberts and Michael & Marti Parry have recently been added.
There are some tickets left but are limited to 100 so you better jump on it soon.
Here is the itinerary for the event.

If you have been reading Spectral Review recently, you know that we went on an investigation of Myrtles Plantation with Everyday Paranormal. We also collected creepy personal experiences from people from the Caretaker’s Cottage, the Myrtles Plantation Museum, and the upstairs bedrooms.
What we thought we would do is create a timeline of the events of the day. This timeline will show just how the day progressed and how the investigation was organized. We do this so readers can:
- Have an idea of what it will be like if they go on an investigation in the future with Everyday Paranormal
- See how to run an event like this if another paranormal group wishes to do something similar
The folks at Everyday Paranormal did an excellent job of organization of such a large event. The Myrtles Plantation is large and doing an investigation with about 15 newbies is not a simple task. Plus the investigation was being filmed for a future DVD.
Here is how the day proceeded:
