The Hollywood Reporter has let us know what the title of the new X-Files movie will be. Isn’t it funny that they can stretch one piece of information into a whole article?

From the article:

“It’s a natural title,” Carter said in a telephone interview Tuesday during a break from editing the film. “It’s a story that involves the difficulties in mediating faith and science. ‘I Want to Believe.’ It really does suggest Mulder’s struggle with his faith.”

I would have voted for “The Truth is Out There” :)

Finally we get a full slate of the network paranormal themed TV shows next week. We have seen some episodes here and there but finally the effect of the nasty writers strike is over.

Returning with new shows next week are Reaper, Supernatural and Moonlight. Though the future of Reaper is uncertain, Supernatural will return for sure and Moonlight most likely will be back, especially with your help.

Here are snippets of what the episodes are about:

We here at Spectral Review are not sure why these vampires are having a hard time sticking, but we wanted to point out the “Save Blood Ties” campaign that is going on.

Save Blood Ties

Please read how you can help.

We have to say we watched both shows and were disappointed when Lifetime pulled Blood Ties. When it happened we pointed out you could watch the last two episodes online.

It’s our opinion that Moonlight will just be fine and will be back for season two in the Fall. There is a campaign for that vampire too.

Good luck to the producers of Blood Ties and their fans. We hope it returns and hasn’t gotten a stake in the heart. Sorry.

We know another location for an upcoming episode of the Ghost Hunters because they are filming currently at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The UnionLeader.com has an article detailing how the production crew sets up an episode:

Yesterday, Palace President Peter Ramsey greeted the production crew for a walk-through. They parked their fleet of TAPS vehicles outside the theater and set up TV cameras.

Inside they pressed Ramsey for possible ghostly hot spots. He took them to a reception room adjoining the theater.

“There was a horrible fire here in 1984. This saved the Palace,” Ramsey said, thumping the fire wall that separated the former apartment from the theater. “A woman died in here.”

“Right here?”

One of the production guys perked up, while another scribbled notes on his pad.

As they made their way back through the theater and toward the balcony steps, one of the crew asked Ramsey if he’s had any encounters himself.

“Plenty,” he said, still walking.

“Can you give us details?” asked show producer Mitchell Tanen.

Ramsey stopped in his tracks and turned around.

“How bizarre you want to get?” he asked. The five-man crew braced for bizarre.

Doesn’t it seem like these old theaters seem to be haunted? There have been a few episodes on the series that have been in an old theater. Plus we had the story of the Main Theater by N.U.P.S.

We here at Spectral Review think it’s a no-brainer that Moonlight, one of our favorite TV shows will be re-newed for a second season.

But others don’t want to risk it since CBS has not officially announced anything yet. So Operation: Renew Moonlight was born today. From their site:

Do you love Moonlight and want to see it return for a second season? Here is your chance to participate in an effort to get the attention of the powers that be at CBS and potentially make a big difference for the one show we have all come to know and love.

Get the details on what they want you to do at the web site. It certainly could help!

Our advice is for everyone who watches Moonlight to get one more person to watch the next few new shows that will be airing on Friday nights at 9PM and that will go far in assuring that the series will continue.

In late April 2008 the Ghost Hunters investigated the Weston Asylum.

The Weston Asylum located in West Virginia was previously known as “The Lunatic Asylum West of the Alleghenies.” And now the new owners have renamed it the “Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum.”

Here is an article from WBOY-TV as they tagged along today with Jason and Grant.

So what was it like for the TAPS crew seeing the building for the first time?

TAPS member and the groups tech manager Steve Gonsalves says, “When you first drive up to this place you can’t help but think it’s haunted, it is all dilapidated and when you think of a haunted, abandoned building in the movies, this is what you think of.”

Gonsalves says the Trans Allegheny Asylum is the LARGEST place TAPS has ever investigated. But the size doesn’t bother the team, in fact, it makes them MORE excited.

TV.com has an interview with Ray Wise who plays the Devil on Reaper. It’s one of our favorite shows these days and hasn’t been officially re-newed for next year. They are now showing new episodes on Thursdays at 9PM, so if you haven’t seen it check it out.

TV.com: And that gives you another death grip around Sam. Last week, we got to see you make a deal with guest star Jamie Kennedy. Most of your dealings have been with Sam. Are we going to see more of you working deals with outside characters and see the Devil’s handiwork?

Ray Wise: Yes, I think so. We’re going to see the Devil dealing with other characters. I think it’ll make the character more interesting and certainly open up the storyline to a greater variety of possibilities. And we’re going to see a greater conflict between the Devil’s world and the world of Sam.

TV.com: Critics love the show. The fan base is really into it. So what do you think the prospects are of a second season? I know it’s on the bubble and we’d all like to see it come back. But what have you heard recently?

Ray Wise: Well I’ve heard that they’re good, you know? I’ve heard that the powers that be at the CW and others love the show. They like it. It’s a business thing and I hope that in these next four or five weeks of the show we can pick up a little bit more of an audience and it’ll justify bringing us back, because I know that once people start watching the show that they’re going to like it. It’s just a question of getting enough people to watch.

Earlier TV.com had an interview with Tyler Labine who plays Sock on the show.

Looks like we will have new GHI episodes to watch after the the current Ghost Hunters series ends it’s run. Though they do say “summer” which could mean it would just need to start by Sept 20th or so. Hopefully there won’t be such a “gap” and their notion of summer is closer to June 20th.

Here is the Sci-Fi press release:

SCI FI CHANNEL TO PREMIERE ALL-NEW EPISODES OF GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL

Reality Series Returns Summer 2008

New York, NY March 18, 2008 Ghost Hunters International, SCI FI’s newest hit reality series, will return to the Channel this summer with seven new episodes as part of its first season, it was announced today by Mark Stern, Executive Vice President of Original Programming, SCI FI Channel. After debuting in January as the highest-rated reality telecast in the Channel’s history, Ghost Hunters International averaged a 1.6 Household rating and over 2 million total viewers over its seven-episode run this winter.

The success of its record-breaking debut season cemented Ghost Hunters’ place as the #1 paranormal franchise in cable!

For their first round of investigations, the International crew took on some of Europe’s most haunted locales, including Chillingham Castle in England and the forgotten underground city of Mary King’s Close in Scotland. Season 4 of the original Ghost Hunters, featuring lead investigators Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, scored a series ratings high for its premiere on March 5. New episodes currently air Wednesdays @ 9 PM, only on SCI FI.

Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International are produced in association with Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Films and Television (American Chopper, Dirty Jobs, The Ultimate Fighter). Piligian and Thomas Thayer, along with Rob Katz and Alan David, serve as executive producers.

TV.com has written a nice article where Tyler Labine who plays the character Sock on the show Reaper gives his top ten reasons to watch the show.

We here at Spectral Review think Tyler Labine is terrific as Sock. Definitely one of the best reasons to watch the show. We look forward to tonights first new episode in a very long time.

Perhaps the public just needs a reason to watch. Or maybe 10 reasons. On the eve of Reaper’s return with brand-new episodes, TV.com asked Tyler Labine, who plays Bert “Sock” Wysocki–one of Sam’s friends and the show’s undisputed champion of comic relief, to list off his top 10 reasons to watch Reaper.

Here they are, unedited and straight from Labine’s mouth:

10. “With the monster-of-the-week formula firmly in place, the writers and producers have decided to bring the season to a close focusing on the mythology of the show and delve deeper into character development. YAY.”

9. “Don’t quote me (hahaha) but it looks like you can expect some steamy interests regarding Ben and a new mystery lady this season…. Maybe!!”

The Burlington County Times has an article about the Ghost Hunters investigation of the Burlington County Prison Museum. The episode airs for the first time on March 12, 2008.

“There’s definitely something out of the ordinary here,” said Marisa Bozarth, museum director. “We have some unaccounted-for noises and you feel like you’re being watched. You get that quite often. You kind of get used to it.”

The investigators, and their TV crew, spent two nights last September at the imposing former prison, which is now a museum. They brought their sophisticated ghost-detection equipment, including infrared cameras and sound re-corders, to aid the hunt.

“They have every type of gadget,” said Bozarth of Mount Laurel.

Bozarth said she knows the results of the “Ghost Hunters” investigation, but can’t reveal whether they were able to confirm or debunk the mysterious happenings at the 200-year-old stone building.

You can find more information about the Burlington County Prison Museum since it’s one of our many haunted places.
