Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Dear Reader, Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day. As a love-slave, I knew everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She, alone, bothered to take me out of the bedroom and into the world. She taught me to love again. But I was not born to know love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace-the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two thousand year old curse? Julian of Macedon

5 out of 5 stars Awsome   January 1, 2009
After reading this book I am truly hooked on the DH series. Sherrilyn is right up there with two of my favorite authors, Lora Leigh and Gene Showalter. I was a little skeptical at first, boy was I wrong. This was a great book that will tug at your heart and have you laughing at the same time. The romance is so touching; I just fell in love with Julian and his life story and the best part are the supporting characters through out the novel.
Great start to a wonderful series.

4 out of 5 stars Actually pretty good!   December 30, 2008
I liked it! The last fourth of the book could have been thought out better, but the writer does her job and convinces us that all this is very possible and reasonable. It was a fun book and that is all it is meant to be.

We are drawn to her characters, we sympathize with them, we breath hard with them, they become our friends. I don't see how this book is any worse than early Nora Roberts books, only sexier.

If you want something fun and steamy, give this book a try.

3 out of 5 stars Gee, sex, sex, and more sex.   December 22, 2008
How did I get this book? A vampire girl suggested it to me. That should have tipped me off right there. This is a X-rated fantasy novel for women. Lonely women. Women who have nothing to do but read this book, drink and play in the shower. This is what we would call white women's fantasy not to be confused with white men's fantasy. Mr. Perfect, Greek/Roman Gods and Goddesses, New Orleans, love, romance, Mr. Perfect acts like a Hero, food doesn't make you fat, so on and so forth. This, a bottle of wine and a sex toy is all a woman needs to be happy.
But if you are a guy, outside of the fact you may find it funny, it really will do very little for. Oh, yes, there is sex. But, come on, that only can carry a novel for so long before you want something. Like, oh, vampires? Not a one. Maybe other books in the series have them but not this one.
In the end it was OK but I felt dirty reading it. It is a trashy novel for women who have to spend eight hours in a jet or something. Run. Run now.

5 out of 5 stars Wow!!!   December 17, 2008
This one is hard to put in words, that's for sure! A great read if you're looking for a very sensual, yet unusual read. I truly enjoyed the fantasy story-line. You just have to read it with the understanding that it IS fantasy, not a modern-day typical romance novel. If you can do that, then you're in for a treat! Highly recommend!

1 out of 5 stars Can we give negative stars?   November 8, 2008
3 out of 4 found this review helpful

Where to start? With the sexually repressed sex therapist? With the half-baked demi god sex-slave trapped in a book? Who is also the most whiny hero I've ever read? The barely researched history and even stupider and wrong details of Spartan life? The best friend tarot card reader who has two PhDs... one of them in Ancient History - not a specific era, mind you, but just Ancient History. Because that covers so little ground you can just roll it into one discipline. *rolls eyes* And who can also speak fluent Ancient Greek after only one semester of learning the language. Truly, the woman is a genius. *headdesk*

But no, what says everything about the writing of this silly little story is this: He licks her INNER EAR with HIS TONGUE!

Ow?!

Sherrilyn, I know what you were trying to say. But you're doing it wrong! As it is, a thousand ENT doctors would tell you how this is impossible and very, very painful if it was somehow managed. After they stopped laughing. And also, the entire breast does not swell then shrink into a nub. That's just anatomically impossible. The word you were searching for is 'nipple'. You're a romance writer, perhaps you should learn to use it.
