Product Description From the author of the popular Weather Warden series. Welcome to Morganville, Texas. Just don't stay out after dark. College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation, where the popular girls never let her forget just where she ranks in the school's social scene: somewhere less than zero. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life. But they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood.

Very good book, Easy reading January 6, 2009 This was a very good book & was easy reading. I flew right through this & HAD to get the next ones in the series. If you enjoy vampire books this is a good read.
Not only for young adults! December 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Though in the YA catagory, this book can be enjoyed by all! I am 33 and a fan of paranormal/paranormal romance type books. I bought this after finding it during on of my Amazon book window shopping sessions. :) It was a quick read but easily kept my interest - I just put the other books in the series on my wish list! If you're looking for a quick, fun read with interesting characters then this is for you. Yes, some may say the characters can be developed more - but this always happens in series books...we have plenty of time to find out more about Claire, Eve, Shane, and Michael. If you're taking the time to read this review, then you must have some interest in this genre - try this book, you won't be disappointed.
I just didn't enjoy it at all - plot was dull, writing dragged, and characters were unbelievable December 29, 2008 I loved Twilight, Vampire Academy, Sunshine, Peeps, and Blue Bloods, so I thought that this would be right up my alley, but it wasn't.
I personally found the plot was too simple to hold my interest, the characters behaved in ways that stretched my credulity, and the writing simply dragged. The entire story hung on plot points or character actions that just didn't seem believable or logical in any way at all - and I love vampire young adult fiction! I'm used to suspending disbelief!
Maybe the series gets better in time. Or maybe the author's better with adult fiction? In any case, this was a real clunker for me. I finished it hoping some of the threads would be resolved in ways that explained all the dropped plot points and unreal behavior - but it was pointless. The ending was obviously crafted to get you to buy the next book, and didn't resolve much of anything.
Skip this one and try out one of the Vampire books I mentioned above. Those are fast-moving, enthralling, fantastic books that you won't be able to set down.
Action packed! December 17, 2008 This book is full of people getting the crap beat out of them. Not your typical vampire book but still worth reading. This book also brings out the hater in you.
