Product Description
Supernatural is the cult CW show from the producers of The O.C. and The X-FiIes, starring Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls) and Jensen Ackles (Smallville). Prepare for a spooky roadtrip through the dark heart of America!

Brothers Sam and Dean Winchester cruise America’s back roads in their 1967 Chevy Impala, searching for their father. Raised to fight paranormal evil, along the way they confront creatures most people believe exist only in folklore and nightmares, including wendigos, ghosts, pagan gods and demons.

This official companion is packed with exclusive interviews, photos, behind the scenes secrets, a complete episode guide, plus a color portrait gallery of the stars.

5 out of 5 stars Great reading, especially for the Supernatural fans out there!!!   April 8, 2008
This was an awesome book to bring anyone up to speed on season 1 of Supernatural. I own seasons 1 and 2 and it was great reading up on the cast and crew to the episodes. It was very informative and I had a great time reading it, I think I'm going to purchase the second seasons companion book as well!

5 out of 5 stars This is good.   March 26, 2008
If you love the show you will want this book. It is full of little behind the scene stuff that is both funny and entertaining. I loved it.

4 out of 5 stars A GOOD LOOK AT THE TV SHOW   March 16, 2008
THIS BOOK IS A NICE LOOK AT SEASON ONE AND AN INTRODUCTION TO THIS ABOVE AVERAGE TO GOOD TV SHOW. IT GIVES US AN EPISODE GUIDE, PHOTOS, CHARACTER INFO, DEMON LEGENDS AND MUCH MORE INFO. IF YOU WATCH THIS SHOW OR IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WHAT IT IS ABOUT, THEN THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS AND RECOMMEND IT FOR ALL FANS OF THE SHOW. CAN'T WAIT TO GET SEASON 2 COMPANION, BECAUSE I CONSIDER SEASON 2 TO BE EVEN BETTER THAN SEASON ONE. IT'S ALL GOOD WITH THE WINCHESTERS.

5 out of 5 stars The Weird And Wonderful World Of The Winchesters   March 13, 2008

I knew there was something special about this wonderful show when it premiered on the WB in the fall of 2005. There was another little show I knew that was something special that premiered mid season on the same network in 1997. Like that classic, Supernatural has evolved in a cult favorite, filled with deep mythology, story arcs, and emotionally charged drama among two brothers. SN is the kind of show that definitley allows itself to have books like this, and the other book released around the same time about all the demons/monsters etc. that are featured on the show. It's just too rich not too.

Author Nicholas Knight has crafted a nice little read. The book, as the title simply puts it, is a companion piece to season 1 of the brilliant, critically acclaimed little show that could. All 22 episodes from that superb debut season are here. Each episode has a synopsis that is followed by cast and crew members commenting on the episodes, and talking about whatever comes to mind, or if there was something special or unique, about that particular episode. There are some little facts that pop up, as well as a list of what classic rock songs were featured in the episode. As we all know, the classic rock soundtrack is as much a part of the show as the car.

The book is well done and a fun read, but slight when compared to other guide books to other television shows. One wonders why seasons 1 and 2 are being done seperate when they very well could have been put together for one large book. The "Buffy" books that dealt with the same thing are the blueprint for these kinds of books, and if there is one complaint here, is that it's not long enough. You could probably read the whole thing in one sitting if you wanted too. Elsewhere, the book has interviews with the cast, crew members, and a section where they talk about the impact of the show and the critical praise it has received. All well worth it. Horror legend Clive Barker hasn't called Supernatural "First rate horror storytelling" for nothing. There are also some nice colored photos as well.

In the end, The official companion book to season one of Supernatural is a must buy for fans of the show. It's also a nice place to start for beginners who want to know what the show is about and play catch up. Get the excellent DVD's as well. The book is what is set out to be, and it is well written and informed. The book on the monsters/demons and so on is an interesting book too, but this is the best of the two.

4 out of 5 stars It's truly a companion to Season One   February 9, 2008

This was the first ever companion book that I've ever gotten and I'm truly impressed. I loved the recaps and the little tidbits that only this book could give to you from the directors. It's even got some really good photos, albeit, mostly in black and white, but overall, I'm very happy with it!
