Product Description
Hauntings and Poltergeist, a companion to the author's how-to manual Ghost Hunting, offers in-depth background for ghost hunters and anyone interested in psychic phenomena and experience, with spotlights on apparitions (ghosts), hauntings, and poltergeists. Written by a respected and renowned expert and featuring black and white photos and illustrations throughout, the book covers the concepts and theories behind ghostly phenomena through a detailed look at parapsychology; mediumship, near-death experiences, and reincarnation; how psychic abilities manifest themselves; parapsychological lab research; how investigators can recognize and enhance their psychic abilities; and more.

Wonderful beginner's guide to parapsychology and hauntings November 5, 2004 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Loyd Auerbach, an undisputed authority on ghosts and hauntings, brings us the companion guide to his other book, "Ghost Hunting: How to Investigate the Paranormal." This new book, "Hauntings and Poltergeists," is also oriented towards beginners, but goes into more detail about the history of Parapsychology, what kind of research is being done in the field today, the differences between apparitions, hauntings, and poltergeists, tells a few real-life ghost stories from Loyd's own case files, and even talks a bit about psychic development. The reader should note that this is not simply a rehash of Loyd's older book, "ESP, Hauntings, and Poltergeists," but contains new material and is well illustrated with photographs and amusing cartoon drawings. Unfortunately, Loyd's bibliography was apparently left off by accident (it can be found on his website) and the index is off by 3 pages (add 3 to the number listed and you're set). Despite these small glitches, I highly recommend "Hauntings and Poltergeists" for anyone wanting a simple, easy, and surprisingly complete guide to the paranormal.
