Product Description
Living with Ghosts: True Tales of the Paranormal is a fascinating collection of true stories about hauntings, ghosts, and other paranormal events. Is there life after death? Can ghosts be photographed? From Lancaster County, Pa Amish Country to Washington State-to the haunted Tower of London, in Great Britain, strange tales of the paranormal fill this very entertaining book. From the same author that brought you Haunted Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1994, True Ghost Stories of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1995, and Ghosts and Other Mysteries in 1997, Living with Ghosts is sure to fascinate the most discriminate of readers. A most personal and awe-inspiring account of the last moments of life, Living with Ghosts was the fulfillment of a promise the author made to her dying husband. He insisted she start writing immediately after his death...little did she realize, he would keep his promise to "provide her with material". Read about a haunted house in Seattle, Washington; the strange presence of a Vietnam soldier, and other paranormal events. Full color cover, 94 pages, perfect bound, and photo illustrated.

2 out of 5 stars Good book   February 1, 2008
I like this book. It's short. It is hopeful, though. A quick, but good read.

3 out of 5 stars Good and bad, but not ugly.   February 23, 2004

This is a book that is somewhat hard to review. The parts that are good are very good; but the parts that are bad are unfortunately very bad. Let us discuss the bad part first and get it out of the way. The first part of the book deals with the sickness and death of Mrs. Fiedel's husband Sam. It is a very touching section and was written about someone she obviously loved very much. This section however has little to do with ghosts and ghosts are supposed to be the subject of this book. Nearly half of the book is taken up with this story and since the whole enterprise is only eighty-seven pages long the ghosts by necessity get pushed aside. The author has a lovely writing style and should really think about writing a book about her experiences to help others that are or have gone through the same ordeal as she and Sam. This book however should have been dedicated to the subject of ghosts and that alone.

Once the reader finds the ghost stories, things improve greatly. Most of Mrs. Fiedel's tales of the paranormal are quite touching and only one is the least bit scary. The writing is good and there are eyewitness accounts of the hauntings. As I stated earlier, the author's writing style is very good and the second part of the book is hard to put down. If the rest of her books are as good as the second half of this one I definitely want them for my library. In fact, after reading the ghost section of the book I am even more upset than I was while reading the first section because I would really have liked to have read more of the author's ghost stories.

2 out of 5 stars great stories--AFTER Page 35   January 24, 2001

I received this book as a gift--If I had paid my own money; I'd have been severely disappointed. My heart goes out to Mrs. Fiedel on the death of her devoted husband--but I'm interested in GHOST STORIES (which is why my friend bought me the book) NOT "My husband worshipped the ground I walked on" stories. That saccarin-sweet story lasts, unfortunately, almost halfway through the book. The rest of the GHOST stories are interesting and a welcome relief. I think Mrs. Fiedel is a fine writer--but if she wants to write a book on her loving husband--then call it as such for those people who would love to read such a story and those who don't (me) will not have to purchase it and be disappointed. Being from Central PA myself, the ghost stories were very interesting and readable; but for half the ghost stories, it should be 1/2 the price. I'd rate this book--"Just okay."
