Product Description Phoebe had promised her dying Cherokee grandmother she would keep the farm, until she solved this riddle: "Take care of the land and the land will take care of you." Seven years later, she and her former brother-in-law Jack continue to fight over the house and the land on which it sits. Just as she is about to give in to Jack's demands, a Native American martial artist named Alex offers to help. Who is Alex and what is his connection to Jack? Why does Jack want the farm? Why has her grandmother's ghost returned? Instead of of one riddle to solve, Phoebe now has a fistful of them. Sexy and suspenseful September 22, 2008 What do Native Americans, martial artists, shady oil-men, and ghosts have in common in modern-day Oklahoma City? Read the book and find out! Although presented as a paranormal romance, MUSK RAIN is a sexy and suspenseful read for all.
Great Paranormal Romance September 21, 2008 "A sexy, well-written modern tale buttressed by the author's knowledge of Native American spirituality.
A definite Must Read! April 28, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After the death of her husband, Phoebe Henderson's life becomes miserable. She feels she's living a nightmare. Due to the untimely death of her husband and the stipulations of his grandfather's will, she is forced to share her house with her brother-in-law. Jack is a brute; a man who thinks nothing of stooping to sexual harassment or physical abuse to get what he wants. He feels that not only has he inherited the house, but Phoebe also.Phoebe is loathe to leave the house or the land due to a promise she made to her dying grandmother. Until she can figure out what the meaning behind her grandmother's words is, she is determined to stay on the land and somehow find a way to handle Jack. Just when she thinks she can't take it anymore, a chance meeting in a bookstore with a dangerously sexy man, who brushes past her and leaves the pleasant smell of musk and rain, gives her courage and determination to keep her promise. She later comes to know the lethal and enigmatic man, Lin, a Native American martial artist, also known as Alex, who offers to teach her how to take control of her own life and handle things. That he also has a personal more intimate reason for getting to know Phoebe is an added bonus. However, there is more to Alex and his interest in Phoebe - and that reason is tied to a connection with Jack. Terri Branson's e-book, MUSK RAIN, is a blend of wonderfully depicted characters with a traditionally Native American background. The plot was interesting. Branson's knowledge of Native American mysticism and culture was very enlightening. The secondary characters helped carry the story along really well and added genuine depth to the author's style. While Phoebe is very easy to identify and sympathize with, Alex is bound to leave the reader breathless with pulses racing! Branson has shown exceptional talent for storytelling, enmeshing spirituality and suspense so well in a tale about a woman's fight to defy the odds and emerge victorious. The sensuality and sexual tension is practically sizzling and bound to keep the pages turning rapidly! I'd recommend this book to all fans of Ms Branson's. This is one story readers are bound to love!
