Product Description
In her latest book of supernatural, true-life mystery, Linda Alice Dewey is contacted by a ghost named Jacobs. Jacobs is a runaway slave who was brutally murdered during the Civil War. Using Jacobs s own words, Dewey tells Jacobs s gripping story of being a slave, a fugitive, a vagrant in nineteenth-century America and his "life" as The Ghost Who Would Not Die. After Jacobs is murdered, his ghost congregates with other ghosts, plays tricks on people, and wanders aimlessly through middle America. Eventually, he begins to help the living by telepathically influencing their thoughts and, ultimately, attaching himself to Dewey and her son. Dewey helps Jacobs to "cross over" and find the peace and freedom that was denied him in life and during the first hundred years after his death. The Ghost Who Would Not Die is a gripping, Civil War era tale, as well as a well-told, true ghost story that is sure to appeal to readers interested in the supernatural and life after death.

A must read from Linda Alice Dewey! January 8, 2009 "I feel I owe it to those left behind to let you know what you got to look forward to if you don't tend to yourself where you are right now" J. Johnson
Thus begins chapter one in The Ghost Who Would Not Die by Linda Alice Dewey. Ms. Dewey is a unique author in that the stories she tells do not come from her imagination; rather, they come from the spirits who lived, died, and came back to tell them.
Impossible, you think. Well, as a paranormal investigator, I believe it is possible. My journey with Ms. Dewey began with her first book, Aaron's Crossing. This story was also a tale communicated to Linda from a spirit. It talks about Aaron's life and death and gave wonderful insight into the afterlife. Being such a huge fan of Aaron's Crossing, I couldn't wait until The Ghost Who Would Not Die became available. Not only do I enjoy Linda's style, I was also looking forward to the added insight I would gain. I thought of that insight only in terms of the paranormal knowledge I would obtain. What surprised me the most: I gained so much more.
Although The Ghost Who Would Not Die is about the afterlife, i.e., the dead, I learned about living from this book. Jacobs, the runaway slave whose story is being told, advises the living throughout the book on the best ways to live your life and to insure that your afterlife runs more smoothly than his did.
I realize there are skeptics in the world who will believe the book is entirely a work of fiction. That's fine. Whether you believe in the paranormal or not, this book is an interesting read, and I defy anyone to walk away from it without having gained something they can use.
I wholeheartedly recommend The Ghost Who Would Not Die. From the time you meet Jacobs to the time you finish the book, you will be engrossed in every detail. If you open your mind, you might learn about one possibility with regards to the afterlife. More importantly, I'm hoping you will take with you LIFE lessons as well. I know I did.
"People think it ain't at all the way the Lord promised. But you know, that ain't true. It's exactly what He said--it just ain't the way you took it." J. Johnson
Open your mind, read this book, and enjoy it as much as I have. I leave you with my favorite quote from Jacobs..."I used life, but never made use of life. That's the problem."
Linda Alice Dewey has done it again. November 15, 2008 Linda Alice Dewey has written another wonderful story. As with Linda's previous book Aaron's Crossing, Linda has brought another spirit's story to us. Aside from learning how life as slave was lived from that slave himself, the lesson about helping others really hits home.
I also liked learning a little about how Linda helps these spirts cross over.
A very intriguing story November 13, 2008 'The Ghost Who Would Not Die' was a wonderful story and gave such an insight to slavery during the civil war. Jacobs was very descriptive as was the author on his life as a slave and his journey to freedom. I now feel compelled to find out as much as I can about slavery. How slaves were treated and their own testimonies about how they lived and felt. I could feel his pain as I was reading his story. I didn't want to put the book down until I knew he was safe. Jacobs tells us his afterlife experiences as well and really gives us an insight to the spirit/shadow world. It affirmed for me that I also experience some of those same things from my loved ones that have passed. A lot of "Ahhh" moments. Beautifully written!
The Ghost Who Would Not Die October 24, 2008 The Ghost Who Would Not Die a delightful journey told only as someone that lived it could tell it. Jacobs was born into bondage, as the son of slave's, then has to live through many traumas due to the circumstances of his birth. Forced to live an unfulfilled life he can never seem to find release not even in death. Jacobs struggles for over a hundred years looking for release from the massive darkness he found himself in. But Jacobs has determination and a lot of drive. He adamantly seeks a way to escape the darkness. He has an interesting personality and is sometimes funny. Linda Alice Dewey has done an amazing job of putting together a work that will keep you in suspense and pleasure you with a satisfying ending.
