5 out of 5 stars Hot, super spicy story...   July 2, 2008

This was the first Christine Feehan book I have ever read. I wasn't disappointed.

This is one of a series of books in the Ghostwalker series. You can read this book out of order because it was a great stand-alone story on its own.

This story centers around Gator, one of a group of enhanced soldiers called The Ghostwalkers. The Ghostwalkers can communicate telepathically and each has a different power. Gator's power is the ability to use sound to either communicate, or to kill.

Gator is sent to find Flame, a genetically enhanced female enhanced from childhood on by the evil mastermind who created special abilities in several female children, keeping them in cages like lab rats. He also infected Flame with cancer then put her into remission (no worries - this isn't a spoiler, it's told in the beginning of the book). The power she has is also the ability to use sound. Flame is no fading violet. I really liked her strong character.

Gator does find Flame. They embark together on a journey against unspeakable evil. To say more would destroy the suspense.

The only negative for me, it might not be a negative to you, is that her intimate scenes were long and extremely intense - one spanned three chapters. There was another one near the end of the book that I paged past because it went on and on and on.

I borrowed this book from the library and am strongly considering buying a copy as a keeper for my own bookshelf.

I don't want to go into too much about describing the book, as this has been done by numerous readers here. I will say my honest review.

I really like this Ghostwalker book. Great storyline/plot and characters. I was really sorry when the book came to an end. I hope Ms. Feehan will write more of this kind of novels/books. Very enjoyable. Highly recommendable.

I love this series and Gator is my favorite so far! I love his relationship with his family and at times the book made me laugh as when Flame was holding a knife to Gator's throat and his brother walked in and said, having a little woman trouble, huh? I very much like the way Feehan develops each person's personalities. I can't wait to read the rest in the series!

5 out of 5 stars Who's your favorite Ghostwalker???   April 1, 2008

Thought it was Jess Calhoun, but after reading Night Game--it is Gater or (Raoul) hands down! I absolutely love Flame as well! The cajun charm--was so enjoyable...and gater was nothing if he wasn't charming, and protective and very clever!

I felt so bad for Flame, here life had been rough--but there were times during the reading that I felt she could have taken some precautions against being hurt--bruised and torn up. The fact that she had cancer and it was out of remission should have made her less willing to endure pain--should have made her more cautious--but this is fiction,, after all!

I simple loved the fact that Gater kept getting excited over the knieves Flame carried, and Flame kept referring to him as a Perv! LOL!
