Amazon.com Product Description SanDisk's Photo Album (SPA) is a compact, sleek and easy-to-use device that enables you to display digital still pictures or video clips on your TV. Instead of crowding around your PC monitor, show off your latest digital images to friends and families using any TV set with an audio-video input. It's compatible with eight flash memory card formats as well as portable USB flash drives. You can use the SPA to play MP3 music files on your home audio system as well as add soundtracks to photo slide shows viewed on your TV. The SPA supports eight flash memory card formats in four slots--CompactFlash Type I/II, Secure Digital (SD)/MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick/Memory Stick PRO, and SmartMedia/xD. The rear of the SPA has two USB ports--one that can connect to a PC (enabling you to use the SPA as an 8-in-1 card reader/writer) and another that can host a portable USB flash drive such as a SanDisk Cruzer Mini, Cruzer Micro, or Cruzer Titanium. There is also a slot for a second CompactFlash Card can be used as "archiving memory" for storing extended slide shows from images that are displayed from flash cards on the front side or from the USB flash drive, as well as store and replay video clips and MP3 music selections. In addition to standard JPEG still images and MP3 files, the media player supports Motion JPEG and MPEG-1 for video. Playing MP3 tracks through television speakers or through a separate audio system is easy. Just load the SanDisk Photo Album with a flash card or USB flash drive that contains MP3 files and it will play them just like CDs on a CD player.

Nice product but...... March 13, 2008 I bought this product to build my own digital picture frame. Works great but I can only get the photo album to read and display 512 pictures from the card. I am using a 1GB card that contains about 650 .jpg files on it. When the photo album boots up, it initializes on picture "1 of 512". I have corresponded with Sandisk about this problem and all recommendations from them (updated firmware, etc.) have not solved the problem. If anyone else has had this problem, please let me know.
If you want to limit your photo viewing to 512 pictures, this is a great product.
Get smarter vieweing photos... avoid the crowds... March 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This Sandisk product is fantastic. Really easy to install, fool proof to use and it just works beautiful. If you like to gather with your family and friends to look at your conventional photo album, sometimes you can hardly see the pics... this way is so good that everyone can take a look a t the same image at the same time (depending on the size of your screen) and everybody can comment about it and have great time.
You'll love it. Works with any memory card out on the market and it can be used with PAL or NTSC format types, so no worries taking it to Europe or anywhere in the world.
Really see your photos February 17, 2008 I actually go the viewer to do two things -- see my new grandson's photos on the 42 inch TV and as a device to integrate all my files on some dated or small flash memory (old CD cards, some small usb sticks, etc). The viewer's ability to mix the display of photos has been a real torture for my friends, since they have to sit through hundreds of photos of my grandson, but since I get most of the photos over the web, I can easily connect the viewer to my computer, download the photos to my 8 gig usb stick and build a photo collection without equal in either quality or convenience hat plays easily on my TV. Now I can't wait for Sandisk's new gadget to download video and show it on my TV, so I can show off my youngest son's UTube videos as well as download some movies that don't get much US TV time (I got the world TV software and it includes movies shown in Australia and other countries that never get play in the US. Now my wife and I should be able to watch them togeher, raher than trying to watch on my computer screen). What I don't get is tha Sandisk has some really great hardware but has simply failed to build consumer awareness. That is something Jobs has done incredibly well. He's taken some pretty ordinary hardware (like his useless iTV thing) and branded it so that the average consumer really thinks there is some difference between his NAND chips, operating system and smart phone and those of other companies. He's the Barnum of the gadget age.
SanDisk Digital Photo Viewer February 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After reading a bunch of reviews, I bought one of these. Amazon and Ebay had the best prices. I now have an entire tv assigned for my picture slide show. I love that I can finally see my digital pics more often. I plan on sifting through my entire collection to get the good ones.
As for the working of the device. I have found it to work just as promised. On a other review someone mentioned to wait to put the memory card in until it asks for it. That was the only problem I saw on reviews. I love this technology and the device as well. There are a few photos that don't show up and I just need to figure out which formate those are in, I think TIF.
I have a 36" plasma and the pictures are just brilliant!
I may buy another one for a present. Sandra
Great! January 19, 2008 Great way to view your digital photos in a large format. I have mine running in slide show with music at all times. All I need to do to have slide show/music is hit the aux input button on the TV remote. I only found two negative things with the SanDisk photo viewer.(1) you will need a CF memory card if you want slide shows with music (2) it will not read CF microdrive.
