 Works Fine for Me December 30, 2008
I purchased the Craft-Lite Cutter from a mail-order catalog company, so I don't have any experience with the excessive charges to my credit card. I do find that to be reprehensible, and certainly wouldn't do business directly with the company, in that case.
However, on to reviewing the product itself. While it may not be as "sturdy" as a commercial-grade paper cutter, it also doesn't carry the price tag of such a cutter. Thus, the Craft Lite seems perfectly serviceable for a $15.00 to $20.00 paper cutter.
I appreciate the backlight, and was able to easily mark a "cutting guide line" by simply running the straight-edge blade back and forth over the plastic deck several times. These two, in combination, make it easy to line up items for accurate cutting.
Unlike some of the other reviewers here, I haven't had any issues with cutting photos or heavier cardstock. It just requires a little extra pressure on the cutter head. The backlight also seems to work fine with heavier stock.
For everyday home needs, such as cutting up sheets of the kids' school photos, the Craft Lite is certainly is an economical solution.

I am very pleased with the craft-lite Cutter. This is the second one I have ordered, and this one was for a gift. This product is very good for scrap booking.

I have only used the straight line cutter for several cuts, at least enough for a worthwhile evaluation. The straight line cutter functioned as had been described in the product's description. I was quite pleased with it. I only did a trial run on the other cutters and they seem to operate as described in the accompanying instructions. I have no reason to believe that these cutters will not work as satisfactorily as the straight line cutter worked.
 Piece of Junk November 20, 2008
I order this, got it very quickly..But its a piece of junk! It doesn't cut straight and it isn't sharp at all! I wish i could return it!

I read the reviews on Amazon.com before I purchased this item and even though they weren't the greatest, I went ahead and bought it anyway. I have to say, it isn't as bad as the reviews led me to believe. It definitely isn't the quality of a heavy-duty paper cutter, but for the price it definitely does the job. I love that I don't have to drag out my big paper cutter for just one little photo. And I really like the variety of blades! Very easy to use and get exact cuts.
