A MUST READ July 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have read this book four times thru the years I love it so much. It is the perfect haunted house book and very believeable. Some people wonder how she could keep living in a house like that, but I understand her because I also lived in two haunted houses myself and you can become sucked into them and sometimes even miss the excitement when you do leave! I love elaine's style of writing and just wish I could find another book as good as this one again. Thanks Elaine for your story.
Makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up.... June 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't usually read this type of book but I wanted to try reading something scary. I had read quite a few Stephen King stories lately but they didn't do much. The night I started reading this book my dreams were a scary mix of what was going on in the story. It isn't the scariest story ever told but it is scary enough that I don't think I would want to step into this Brooklyn house today - definitely not then ...and you couldn't pay me enough to go down to the basement alone - creepy!
If it is all true , as the author swears it is, then maybe there is life after death.
great book!!!! March 12, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great story!! I could not put the book down. I think Elaine did a great job writing about her encounters. I recommend this book to anybody who loves TRUE Hauntings.
Scary enough to enjoy -yet still be able to sleep March 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The writer did a great job telling her story. This was one of those books that you have to keep reading just to see whats going to happen next.At the same time, I never got that uncomfortable feeling that you get when you read some paranormal books. The end did not leave you with a bunch of unanswered questions that makes some books disappointing. Best of all Its a true account.
a definite letdown... January 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
i kept taking into consideration that this book was the author's 1st.... and if the rest of them are like this one-i hope it's the last... some of the story was fine to read-what she saw, and experienced... but through out the whole book..she kept saying the same thing over and over,,sometimes-not even with different words... i found this book very boring...-easy to put down...and difficult to pick back up again!!
