i bought this item for class to record lectures. upon using i found out the audio quality was very poor. i expected much better and i am upset i bought this item. there is so much static playback is un audiable.

This was a great product at a good price, and I am very, very, very satisfied with its XHQ sound quality and performance. One thing to note if you haven't already done so, is that this version does not connect to the computer. However, if you aren't looking for that model, this is great.

Don't even bother getting this if you do not want the PC version - I made the same mistake other did here, now have to return it. ugh.

I am using these to record phone interviews (using with the TP-7 telephone pickup). The quality of the audio is very good, you have to toggle the quality to see what works for you.
It is quite easy to transfer files. The wave files are pretty big so converting to mp3 format may be necessary depending on your needs.
Would definitely recommend.

Simple and well made and it gets the job done. I like it very much. Just make sure the playback volume is set to at least 15. Check troubleshooting pointers in manual for help. Also, read the instructions all the way through and it will work fine. Missing in pack was the carry strap. They should have included a lightweight carry case for belt or pocket. Still an OK unit.
