Ghost Hunters B-Listers February 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you're a fan of the Original Ghost Hunters show, and you've seen all the episodes and have nothing left to watch, then this is definately worth checking out. It's entertaining enough and the locations are gorgeous.
Robb Demarest is the head honcho here. He either has an eye problem or has severe stage fright, because every time he talks to the camera, his eyes go saucer-big and his eyebrows move an incredible amount. I keep waiting for him to wipe his forehead of nervous sweat-beads or something. Those eyes! I crack up every time he talks, he's so stiff- Loosen up, Robb! Have some fun! Donna LaCroix, my favorite of all the female Ghost Hunters, is calm to the point of sleepy, yet still professional and she asks the questions that I would ask when she's on investigations. Andy Andrews, goofy yet loveable, is on the team. He's really gung-ho and possibly needs Ritalin, but I like his de-bunking skills. Shannon Sylvia is a new-comer to the scene, although not new to investigating the paranormal. In my opinion, they should have picked someone else. Wasn't there anyone else out there to choose? Her personality leaves a lot to be desired. Her outfits KILL me! She's straight out of Jersey with the camo and the boots and the bad hair and too much makeup. The monotone voice tops off the blah effect. She's my least favorite, and completely expendable. Barry Fitzgerald has been on a few original Ghost Hunters episodes, as a liaison on their Irish and English investigations, and a participant as well. He's loveable, a bit excitable, possibly even in need of a heart monitor, but seemingly well-intentioned and this season he's sporting a fetching- okay-NOT so fetching flavor-savor strip thing on his chin. He should shave that off. Last, but certainly not least, we have Brian Harnois, the on-again-off-again former member of TAPS. I have to say, none of the original Ghost Hunters and none of the International would have been half as entertaining without him. He's like Shrek- you may cringe at some of the things he does and says, but you just can't help but love him. All of this being said, the show lacks a bit compared to the original Ghost Hunters series as far as the interpersonal relationships and drama goes, but it doesn't suck. They find things, good EVP's and so forth. It's worth a look.
Robb Demarest :Talent Among A Weak Crew January 29, 2008 This show has a problem. The team is light weight, and particularly the women are excitable. Robb Demarest has an intelligent approach that is plausible and he is sufficiently different fromt he remainder of the crew that his dry wit does not come through as often as it could. His smiles are always warm adn fun. The show itself is interesting, and the international sites are great. I would like to see more of Robb as a leader and less of the others scrambling aroudn in the dark. (Why do ghosts appear only in the dark?) I would also like to see Robb offer some contect for the show, i.e. parnormal potential in the context of the history and hte geography, but particulalry the culture. Would require a little more research but would make it better. He's your man. He has great potential.
Cool Locations Spooky Ghosts January 25, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ghost Hunters International is a good new show. I like the fantastic locations, especially castles. It's great to see a new team of paranormal investigators trying to out smart the ghosts. I really enjoy this show. Keep up the good work.
amos January 24, 2008 Had to get used to Robb, can't stand Andy. Overall Not Bad. Just different from the original Ghost Hunters. I still like the original better.
Ghost Hunters: International... send all the bad ones overseas January 22, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well, the new crew is pretty hard to get used to. I have always thought Brian was a bit hard to believe... it doesn't help that they've teamed him with a leader that acts a little wanky... He acts a little too gung ho. I figure he'll try to build credibility that way.
